Now that a new round of talks on cabinet formation is underway, why not examine the following:

Jumblatt said he supports a 15-10-5 government formula “based on consensus”.

Fine.

If he really believes in consensus, why does he think “it’s only normal that his ministerial share in Cabinet be among the 15 shares slated for the majority March 14 coalition?”
Let Jumblatt get 1 ministerial share from the March 14 coalition, 1 ministerial share from the president share (the chiite share can be given to a druze) and 1 ministerial share from the March 8 coalition (that he could offer to Talal Arslan, since Jumblatt wants to preserve Arslans ministerial representation).

If Jumblatt wants to be generous, let him be so from his pocket, not from ours!

This is, in my opinion, a way to defuse the “Jumblatt time bomb”, based on “consensus”…

Joumblat turned the table on those who were one with him in the once upon a time so called March 14.
Y there is no more March 14 to give to this or that. It is over.

well, Y, to be perfectly fair..

he WAS with m14 during the elections, so its only fair that he gets his share from their part.. even though he left them now, he, in a way, contributed to their victory during the elections, just like they contributed to his! so its only normal that he gets his share from their part

Could someone tell me what’s so bad about having a techno-government with poles ?….Is it so hard for us lebanese to be civilised?

Personally, i wouldn’t mind having a government with 15 ziad baroudS getting actual work done, and 15 sectarian leaders making sure we don’t kill each other…..

    hochoz,

    why poles? why not persians

i seriously don’t see how this mentality of his and hers and ours is gonna get us anywhere in this country.

oh, let him give away seats out of his own pockets!

    seriously??

once we realize in lebanon that no one owns any seats and that there is no such thing as my share and his share, then we can be able to build a decent government that serves the people and only the people.

U got me on that one….

why can’t we have 15 persians in the government?….:D

(forgot the term poles refers to Polish people)…..
