Syrian Military Plane Crashes Near Damascus
Posted by YA Syrian military plane crashed into an olive grove near Damascus on Sunday, leaving three crew members dead, witnesses at the scene told Agence France Presse.
There was no official confirmation of the incident in Moadamiyeh, about five kilometers (three miles) west of the Syrian capital and close to a military airport.
“A small military training plane landed in an olive grove before hitting the wall of a house,” said one witness, adding that it appeared the aircraft had gone out of control. Residents inside the house were unhurt.
The bodies of the three dead airmen and the plane itself were quickly removed from the scene, the witnesses said.
The crash comes amid a spike in tensions between Damascus and its southern neighbor Israel after a September 6 air strike by Israeli jets on northern Syria.(AFP)

DAMASCUS (Reuters) - A small aircraft used by the Syrian military crashed on Sunday near Damascus killing three people, witnesses and the official news agency said.
A technical fault caused the crash of the Navajo plane, which belonged to a department linked to the Syrian military, the agency said.
“The accident killed the crew of three,” the agency said.
Three people wearing military uniforms were pulled out of the wreckage among olive trees in the Muadamiet al-Sham district, 7 km (4 miles) west of Damascus.
“The plane was swaying violently before it hit the ground,” said a resident of the area.
“It came down among gardens and did not hit houses,” said Mohammad Nasser, another witness.
Another witness saw a truck carrying the wreckage to the Mezzeh military airport. He said he saw no military markings on the plane.
The crash came at a time of heightened tension between Syria and Israel, which carried out an air strike deep inside Syrian territory on Sept 6. Both sides have given little information about the target.

uff… there was a MiG also that crashed in the Golan heights 2 weeks ago too. Not a lot of major medias covered it.
If Syria and Israel want to have a go at War… they may do so On Their Behalf. and would like to request the Lebanese Media to have a minimum coverage transmitted “inside” Lebanon.

Who’s making a big deal of it?…it’s only a piece of news and we’re commenting on it…if there are more military plane crashes in Syria it means they are training more and maybe preparing for war…I would love to see those damn Syrians fighting on their own land instead of ours all the time…go Bachar go show us that you are a man not like M14 that you called half men!

Well, personally I think this is an assassination. A good way to get rid of an officer who’s loyalty is questioned. It’s always been like that! Though the possibility of a technical issue is there, I really think it’s an assassination!
