What do you think about this picture?

This picture was taken yesterday during the demonstrations organized in Damascus against the American attack on the Syrian border town of “bou kamal”.

When I saw this picture i felt so angry, I mean of course I don’t mind anyone to raise our flag, especially if he is Syrian, but to raise the Lebanese flag in Syria while stepping on the US flag, has another background, and I see it as a deliberate involvement of Lebanon in this conflict without any permition, which is something the Syrians are used to do, and this is the core of our problem with them, they consider themselves as our spokespersons and they do many  things on our behalf.

Now I will hear some people here saying that i’m exagereting and that this is an innocent act. NO it isn’t, because somehow i see it as a deliberate act, or if it wans’t, at least it is something the Syrians got used to do, which is wrong. others will say maybe they are Lebanese who went to demonstrate there, i will tell them: is it a coincidence to have Lebanese and Iraqis in the same picture, and are they Iraqis also who raised their country’s flag??

So in conclusion, We don’t want anyone to involve us in any act, we don’t want anyone to speak or act or decide on our behalf, we are an independent country able to act and decide, but it seems the Syrians are still have the same ideas that Lebanon is only a district of Syria, regardless their latest approval on establishing diplomatic relations.

    I don’t think the real Christian Lebanese do that at all… usually look at the face of the one holding the flag ,i don’t think he knows what flag he is holding. If they put for him the Syrian flag on the ground and told him to step on it because it is the American flag he would have done it.
    By the way,i think they were shouting “KA3K KA3K”

    Yes I bet, not only shi3aratna, they took everything from us and said they are their.

    Lately here in Kuwait, I heard many people (non Lebanese) have been taught that the “Tabbouleh” is Syrian by origin. Can you imagine??

    And BTW, with respect to that American attack, Assad is clear in his statement “Awal marrah wo ekher marrah the American will attack Syria!”

    That can be applied to the following:

    -Sept. 6, 2007 - Israel attacked a suspected nuclear site.
    -October 2003 - Israel attacked a Palestinian training camp next to “Damascus”
    -April 2001 - Israel attacked the Syrian radar station in Daher al Baydar.
    -2001 Israel attacked Syrian radar station in Bekaa valley (Reyak)
    -ETc.
    -ETc.
    -ETc.

    The Syrians will not allow this to happen again…

    They hold a lebanese flag because they take pride in us, in that we dare do what they only wish to do, to stand up against american and israeli bullying with action instead of words.

    if you think about it guys,. fouad have hit it right … lot of syrian people look up to us ; even though too many of us hate them.. the demonstration contained lot of flag for HA too…

    I think the follow:

    The Lebanese flag is no flag to be proud off
    I spit on such flag because that flag was used by Lebanese to kill other Lebanese was used by a Lebanese army in the past and also in nowadays to kill Lebanese people to protect militias like HA
    This flag was and still used by all kind of traitors and scumbags
    I say it again: I’m not proud of such flag, I spit on such flag and all the people who believe in such flag because they are so dumb to still believe and give hopes to that flag.

    One flag I respect and it is of course the lf flag that real Lebanese real patriots real blood real Phoenicians died holding that flag that Lebanon the Lebanon we won’t the Lebanon we believe in , a true country that we’ll never see neither anybody we’ll see , died long time ago but still lives in our dreams.

    Ja3far,

    So if there were HA flags ths means it is ok to raise Lebanese flags?? we can’t raise any Lebanese flag abroad if it is not agreed by all Lebanese upon, and we can’t allow to raise it in this situation.

    Ya khayeh we are not against the US till that extent, we criticize them in our own way, and we’re not waiting for the Syrians or HA to teach us how to do that.

    It’s not about someone who decided to raise the Lebanese flag only becuase he loves Lebanon, it was deliberately put there and pictured and aired to the whole world to see.
    What the Syrians may think if we organize a demonstration against Iran for example and we raised the Syrian flag??

    Also I don’t agree with you in spiiting on kouwatje, he just gave his opinion, and whether we agree or not, he didn’t disrespect anyone here, he’s free to love the Lebanese flag or not, at least he was honest.
    Also there are many people who give a damn about the Lebanese flag, working for other countries and defending others more than they defend or love Lebanon, and I think you know who i’m talking about.

    This is not surprising to me , alot of ppl take pride in what we did back in july 06.I always hear it from ppl no matter where I go, work,school… We are the only nation to stand and defeat both jihadists and zionists!! Therefore, our flag should always fly high ;)

    I am very proud to be called lebanese. It stands for pride, integrity and GUTS!

    PS: I dont like to see the american flag on the floor. I am a LEBANESE AMERICAN so is my son.

    You have this RETARD fou2ad kissing Syrian butt, while two years ago he and his Aouni friends wouldn’t even say the word Syria, and were bragging 24/7 about how Aoun has American support.

    Lebanon will NEVER live in peace if it stays the way it is now.

    NOBODY in Lebanon is loyal to Lebanon. We are loyal to the LF, Aounies are loyal to Aoun, Hezbollah is loyal to Khomeini, none of us love Lebanon, we all just want to take over Lebanon and have it all to ourselves.

    I agree with kouwatje, If this flag is being used by all that Lebanese scum, then I don’t want to respect it. Nobody else does anyways…

    s0o, the syrians wanted lebanon to get involved with the conflict between syria and the U.S and their way of doing so was by taking this photo!!!

    Describing the American attack as “an Aggression ” and condemning it.. just as Sanyora did,or taking a silly photo of a syrian raising the lebanese flag?!!
    and what for do they need lebanon inthis issue?!!
    we all saw how the syrians reacted toward the attack!! they closed a skool and an american office lol!!!
    what a big deal!!!
    if the syrians wanna take any further actions.. it would be indirectly and in Iraq!! u would hear in the news for instance that a helicopter crashed.. or 5 soldiers were killed by targeting their vehicle with a bomb!!!

    rodge… i think this picture is a good snap shot by a good photographer… i have seen how professional photographers works . they look for nteresting subjects and contrasts to take pictures for them…
    that is what i think… but your point of you is interesting too.. . both options are valid.

    Syria will unlikely truely change their attitude towards lebanon. They will always think of it as a missing part of syria. much the same as iraq thinks of kuwait as a missing part of iraq.

    to counter this you must offer the syrians something better….. offer them the chance to be part of Greater Lebanon. Absorb syria into Lebanon… they all want to be lebanese so let them.

    run the whole place from Beirut. :)
