I am a Lebanese citizen that was supposed to be back home on vacation for 3 months. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would witness my entire country being destroyed in front of my eyes. My response to that at first was shock, anger, and frustration. Then, I decided to turn all that anger around and show the entire world what is going on in this small country that has been through so much.

I know that it was Hezbollah who awakened the big mighty bear of Israel. I know that. But, I also know that we, the Lebanese people had nothing to do with it. Even Hezbollah supporters did not want their homes destroyed. Our only crime is that we are too weak. Too weak to disarm anyone or anything. Too weak to form a united stand on anything. This is not our fault, but it is a result of years of war where the average Lebanese citizen had come to realize that his opinion matters very little.

Despite the fact that my anger began against Hezbollah, it took only one day before I realized that Israel also should pay for what they have done. There is nothing “measured” about their response. They destroyed a country that had taken years to be rebuilt and for what?

For a war that is much bigger than Lebanon. For a war that has much bigger fish to fry. Not Hezbollah but Iran, this is the ultimate target. Lebanon is just a playground, a playground that has become totally empty, a playground whose children are dying or starving or scared.

But we will prevail. We will turn over a new leaf, I need to believe that in order to go on. We will get another chance to rebuild and I hope this time, before we rebuild infrastructures and homes, we can rebuild a Lebanon for all. A Lebanon where a Lebanese citizen like me can be proud of their passport and know that their army can protect them, that they don’t need help from any other party.

This is my Lebanon. I hope it will be a Lebanon for ALL.

Hopefully we will rise again as one strong state, one strong army and one strong people believing in Lebanon and honoring the thousands of martyrs that fell for us to stay free and sovereign.

Our Cause is the 10452 and nothing more or less. We dont want anyone’s interference and dont wanna advocate any other country’s cause.

Reine, your words are spot on. I pray God protects the people of Lebanon. It’s heartbreaking to see what is happening and I feel powerless trying to get the UK government to do something. Thanks for sharing your words with us all. (PS: Check your facebook)

You are very right with your “playground” metaphor. When Khamenei was saying that the “Zionists” want Lebanon to be “meat in their mouth so they could grind it”, that is infact what Iran and Syria have been doing for decades. I am an Russian/Israeli who lives in Canada, and I am 100% behind the IDF, and I am 100% for Lebanon and the Lebanese people. I wish that all the foreign elements would leave your country (Hizballah, Palestinian terrorists, Syria, Iran, et al.) so you could be independent and restore your beautiful country to what it used to be. Of course you’ll rebuild… and one day we will have normal good healthy relations :) Iran has started something that it will not be able to finish. This is the beginning of a larger campaign against Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its clout in the region (Syria & Lebanon). I think after this war, not only will Lebanon be free of Syria, but of Iran too.

Please be brave and hold on just a bit longer…

This is just a part of a larger campaign to transform the whole region. Syria and Iran are going to be overturned sooner or later, maybe by Israel, maybe by the US or England, or maybe by their own people. When that happens, Lebanon — like Iraq — will be rebuilt by the very armies that now destroy it.

Like Alex said, hold on just a bit longer. This is a hard time for you — it’s like a doctor removing cancer; healthy tissue will be cut away along with the cancer, but in the end it will be worth it. Just hold on, and when your country is rid of Hezbollah/Syrian/Iranian influence, be ready to sieze the opportunity.

So what are you guys suggesting for getting back our prisoners and Shebaa farm to Lebanon and the 400 thousand palestinians from Lebanon to their homes?
