I’m sorry to say this but many Australians are under the delusion that Hezbolla is a peaceful people-loving little group who live with Lebanese people and therefore are not terrorists. If the Lebanese continue to let themselves be used by terrorists, like the weak who succumb to bullies, they cannot avoid the sad consequences that come from not defending their own identity.

I should add that the US does bear some responsiblity for this, as we are partially to blame for the current regime in Iran. Also, we allowed Syria to take over Lebanon over a decade ago, in order to gain Syrian support for Desert Storm. That bit of realpolitik by the first Bush Administration should never have been allowed.

Do you realise that we are not hearing any dissenting views from Lebanon on the BBC regarding Hezbollah.

The BBC are giving the impression that the Lebanese people are 100% supporting Hez.

“As a Lebanese citizen, I fully condemn any foreign intervention in my internal business.”

It stopped being “internal business” when Hizb’allah used Lebanese soil to launch attacks into Israel, and used Lebanese soil to fire rockets into Israel.

I hate to be rude, but Lebanon itself is nothing more than a human shield. Your nation is a puppet of Iran, because it is Iran’s puppet Hizb’allah which is truly in charge.

Thank you for your comments.

After hearing many accusations and talk about how this article was covering up for Israel’s actions in the South, I would like to underline that in no way do I support what Israel is doing to my country. It is using excessive force, and no one will pretend otherwise. As a Lebanese citizen, I fully condemn any foreign intervention in my internal business.

But I also condemn Hezbollah for making use of this excessive force to suit its propaganda, by putting innocent civilians in the line of fire.

Tactics, Strategy, Grand Strategy

The anger of the Arab street is part of the Israeli war plan. It is how they expect to get Syria to attack.

If Qana was a hizzie work accident, then they are playing into Israeli plans. Excellent.

Note that before Qana Rice was saying two weeks until a cease fire. Now she says one.

Keep your eye on the Bekaa Valley.
