Firstly I would like to begin with my condolences for all those that perished in this unacceptable, barbaric act…

My condolences go as well to the hundreds who have been savagely murdered in the last 19 days…

My condolences go out as well to the Lebanese people for the loss of their country, that is if they do not take action.

For the last two weeks, we have been screaming that HA are hiding amongst civilians to attack Israel…we posted on boards, we mass mailed, some wrote to news papers and major news channels…

And yet, the most concerned, the Lebanese people that were themselves the victims, stood silent…they felt powerless and defenseless…

Some accused us of treason…some even went all the way to claim we fabricated those stories…

Today, the proof is with you, in front of you and yet some of you refuse to see…you refuse to see that HUMAN BEINGS are being used as SHIELDS…yes HUMAN BEINGS…kids, women, infants…

Mr. Nasralla, we understand the necessities of a guerilla war…we understand that you are fighting what you and your people consider a battle of existence…but we are not in the Mekong delta or the jungles of Vietnam…this is Lebanon Mr. Nasralla…the 10452Km2 are totally inhabited…so wherever your people hide, they are endangering HUMANS…

You vowed Jihad on the Israelis…but the whole country has not…you vowed their destruction and care less if in the process you loose your life…but the whole country has not…

Lebanon and the Lebanese Mr. Nasrallah are people that want to live…we want peace…we do not want to be torn to pieces or suffocated by imploding bombs…

When those people stayed in Qana despite the warnings issued by the Israelis to evacuate, they did so because they had put their faith in the men of the resistance…they believed that those men would protect them, would keep them safe from the Israeli enemy…

Alas…they discovered, and it was too late when they did, they discovered that those men who were supposed to protect them, were in fact hiding behind them.

They discovered that those men were taunting the Israeli by firing at him from behind inhabited buildings, daring him to reply…your men, Mr. Nasrallah, were playing Russian roulette but with the gun aimed at the heads of the innocent victims instead of theirs…

We all agree that the Israelis are retaliating with excessive force…no one is challenging this…what I am challenging is your tactics of turning this excessive force to your benefit at the cost of the lives of the civilians…this is, at best, Mr. Nasrallah, a criminal act, punishable, if not by the laws of the country which are so often bent and twisted, but by the Lord himself…that Lord whose name you use to call your party…

Was this what you meant when you claimed you were reserving surprises to the Israeli enemy??? was this your “after Haifa” ???  Was Quana your after Haifa? If so, then I congratulate you on your napoleonean thoughts…

Pray tell me, were you counting on the public outcry to force the Israelis into a cease fire and thus claim your victory??? Like what happened in April 1996???  Is this what you were aiming at when you fired rockets from the vicinity of the UN post not three days ago, causing a retaliation that killed four UN soldiers???

The outcry wasn’t strong enough…lets do a Qana II…it will have an impact for sure…it never fails…people are so gullible…we get the cease fire and come out as heroes…and in the way we cause Israel to suffer humiliation…

Some victory for Lebanon Mr. Nasrallah…

Anyways, I am sorry for all those souls that are being lost day by day as this nightmare that has engulfed my country goes on, and I pray all the Gods of all the religions to make this madness cease.

Lebanon wants to live.

Lebanon wants to breathe.

Lebanon wants peace.

Give us peace, do not tear us to pieces.

i am writing this and listening to israeli war planes at the same time. this is war that we have been dragged into, all of us, it is a war i dont think anyone will actually want for their country. seeing those children today being taken our of that building was sickening, sickening because it is our fault. because WE the lebanese people allowed Hizballa to be strong, and some of us are Still keeping them strong by supporting them in what they are doing.
God help us all. God help those families and the others that died before.

Thank you for writing this article. Everyday I cry and pray for Lebanon and her people. For peace ALWAYS and with no Hezbollah to interfere with the Paris of the Middle East the world has come to know and adore. I donate and I pray, but it still seems not enough..

Dear God, please grant Lebanon PEACE - please!

WE should do something about it. I know that many people have complained openly about it on radios, tv, newspaper, but it is not enough. WE need to do a massive campaign. An international and national campaign. A well strctured one. If we can find at least 5 people and divide the work between us we can do a great job. It only takes 1h per day to spread the message. Guys, unfortunately, I am not a graphic designer nor good in video making. What I suggest is: 1-write a well structured letter about what HA is doing with strong proofs to be emailed and posted on every forum/site/newspaper/etc 2- Make a video that proofs what we are talking about and post it or email it wherever possible to accompagny the letter. Or even better, if someone can construct a web site that contains all the proofs it will be a great thing. On Youtube.com we can find many videos that shows what hizbollah is doing, lets put them all in one site and send the link. Hopefully the public opinion will wake up. WE need to act quickly, we don’t have much time. No good having another Massacre!
Come on guys, lets do it. It is OUR LEBANON!!!!!
P.S. Webmaster, you can use my email add to contact me.

An Israeli airstrike killed around 60 people in a residential area and it is being reported that many of them are children. The Israeli government maintains that Hezbollah is using the human shield factor and there are some smuggled pictures showing a …

I think that your post is very interesting. It seems that you do not hold Israel accountable for any of its actions. Do not you think that the Israeli responce is a bit over reacted?

Thank you for your informative article. I am a strong suporter of Israel. That said, I am also a strong supporter of Lebanon. There is no contradiction; I love diversity, different cultures. . .I always feel that I learn from them and that I am enriched by them. My daughter lives in Israel—so as a mother I am very concerned. I worry about the Jewish people who have endured so much over the centuries, and who want a peaceful homeland free from persecution and harm. I live in Texas, and one of my favorite friends here is Luba, from Lebanon. I can never think of any group of people, especially the good people of Lebanon, as my enemy. This conflict is so crazy, from my point of view. All of this energy, and the money that is used in this conflict could be used to help the people of the region. I also worry about the environment, as well as the people. What can be done to resolve this terrible conflict? What can be done, and where do we start to heal from this tragic war? What efforts can be made and how can we all work to support and help each other? I wish that I had some hope for peace in this troubled region. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and concern for all that the good people in Lebanon are enduring. With kind regards, Lynne in Texas

    Tactics, Strategy, Grand Strategy

The anger of the Arab street is part of the Israeli war plan. It is how they expect to get Syria to attack.

If Qana was a hizzie work accident, then they are playing into Israeli plans. Excellent.

Note that before Qana Rice was saying two weeks until a cease fire. Now she says one.

Keep your eye on the Bekaa Valley.

    To all…
    Thank you for your comments.

After hearing many accusations and talk about how this article was covering up for Israel’s actions in the South, I would like to underline that in no way do I support what Israel is doing to my country. It is using excessive force, and no one will pretend otherwise. As a Lebanese citizen, I fully condemn any foreign intervention in my internal business.

But I also condemn Hezbollah for making use of this excessive force to suit its propaganda, by putting innocent civilians in the line of fire.

    Peace to all.

“As a Lebanese citizen, I fully condemn any foreign intervention in my internal business.”

It stopped being “internal business” when Hizb’allah used Lebanese soil to launch attacks into Israel, and used Lebanese soil to fire rockets into Israel.

I hate to be rude, but Lebanon itself is nothing more than a human shield. Your nation is a puppet of Iran, because it is Iran’s puppet Hizb’allah which is truly in charge.

Do you realise that we are not hearing any dissenting views from Lebanon on the BBC regarding Hezbollah.

The BBC are giving the impression that the Lebanese people are 100% supporting Hez.

I should add that the US does bear some responsiblity for this, as we are partially to blame for the current regime in Iran. Also, we allowed Syria to take over Lebanon over a decade ago, in order to gain Syrian support for Desert Storm. That bit of realpolitik by the first Bush Administration should never have been allowed.

I’m sorry to say this but many Australians are under the delusion that Hezbolla is a peaceful people-loving little group who live with Lebanese people and therefore are not terrorists. If the Lebanese continue to let themselves be used by terrorists, like the weak who succumb to bullies, they cannot avoid the sad consequences that come from not defending their own identity.
