Can someone please tell me what possible analytical or scientific approach was used to determine these numbers?
I can tell you for a fact that there are no-where near 45,000 lebanese in new zealand (nouvelle zelande). I am the secretary for the Lebanese Society of Auckland and know almost all the families in Auckland and many of the other families around the country. The recent census had only a little more than 1000 lebanese identify themselves here. Those born here (2 generations) added to that number would still only bring that up to a possible 4 0r 5,000.
putting forward completely false figures helps no-one .

I git this through email and I do not have the possibilityof checking its ccuracy…
so if anyone can correct the numbers he/she feels are over or under rated, plese do.

Our secretary of the lebanese society of Auckland !
I think by simple position that you have you should represent the Lebanese society in somehow! So try to be more balanced and lebanese for all the Lebanese and correct the mistake if, without inciting 1 group on in another..
3achtoum wa 3acha Lebnan and our representatives abroad…

i got it through email as well sometime ago, that was why i checked the recent census results for new zealand.
I can only correct the new zealand numbers, but i suspect the others are also way over the top as well.

These figures were compiled by a guy called Shareif Al Husseini and posted on their website:
http://www.iloubnan.info/Lebanese-Diaspora-An-Overview
He admits that the figures are estimates and ready to discuss them…
Happy Counting
