Syrian Elections….democracy at its best…

The first thing you note is that there is no privacy. People watch you  write your vote in.

 

Writing the vote in is another Syrian novelty.

 

There are two circles, one bright green (yes) and one faint green (no). The color is a hint, you’re not supposed to notice the faint circle. From the footage shown, there doesn’t seem to be a uniform way to write in the vote.

I saw people color the big circle. I saw Faruk Shara do that. They also write Naam in the Yes circle. From what I could tell, some people were also signing the circle.
 
 Last but not least, if the voter doesn’t know how to operate a pen, the voter can provide a thumb print in the Yes circle. With the thumb print the voter has positive proof of voting for Bashar, should their loyalty to the regime be questioned by the state.
 
 If you want to see police state in action, watch how Syrians vote. My heart breaks and my eyes weep.
