Mission Impossible…the sequel
Posted by othello“If they don’t want early parliamentary elections, then I call for the election of the president of the republic by the Lebanese people for one time only…”
I couldn’t help smiling after hearing Aoun say those words yesterday during a public appearance in front of his supporters (something to do with the committee of teachers of the FPM or something)…
The general always had the knack for formulating the most impossible of demands and making his followers stick to those demands like they were gospel without realizing the somewhat awkwardness of such stances…
Awkward because they cause a noted deviation from the main problems that are affecting the country…one can only wonder what could the main reason be behind such blatant deviations…
everyone remembers the famous demand by aoun for early parliamentary elections…even though it was demonstrated multiple times that this was impossible at the moment (mainly because of the stances generals own allies), he kept on demanding and accusing everyone else of being a traitor and being afraid of such elections…
Then we heard the famous signature of the Bkerki pact…even though it was an obvious publicity stunt, we heard voices of aounists come out and accuse those who did not sign of all sorts of things…
I don’t know what pushes the general to such stances…could it be a desire to make people talk about him? That’s the Hayfa Wehbe style (cause enough controversy to make the most people talk about you and therefore you become famous).
Or could it be something more dangerous like distracting the people while other more dangerous things take place in the background…that would be the David Copperfield style…in the sense make the audience riveted to your left hand while the right hand does all the work, unnoticed, unseen…one such thing to hide would be aouns latest moves towrds syria and his sweet talking towards the sister country….maybe aoun saw this was causing some rifts among whts left of his followers so he decided to throw this stunt to keep them occupied for a while
Now, in the core of it, I have nothing bout such an election taking place…but the dear general seems to forget that the presidential elections are due in about two months…and to prepare for something like he is proposing, Lebanon needs at least six to eight months…who would lead the country in the mean time???
Also, does the general wish to allow the Lebanese abroad to vote? If yes then where is the mechanism for such a thing to take place??? let me remind the dear general that the ambassadors abroad are nominated by the government (Lebanese people would have to cast their votes in their local Lebanese embassies, that’s if we are to follow the French system as an example)…and Aoun does not recognize the legal nature of this government…how does he propose to carry out such a task then???
Has the general forgotten that there is a faction in the country that’s still armed to the teeth? And that this faction has taken to labeling anyone who opposes her as Israeli agent/collaborator? And that this faction controls almost an entire sect??
And why is the general asking for this exception ONE TIME ONLY??? Is it because he knows that the next time around there would be no weapons in the hands of HA and therefore he would have no chance of getting anywhere???
Plus, what kind of president is this that comes to power through a constitutional modification??? Have we forgotten what happened with the last one that had the constitution modified so he could become a president??? He hasn’t left Baabda yet to be forgotten…
Furthermore, I really dislike the recent tones the general and his allies are taking when addressing themselves to the people…its like they are constantly warning us that if their will is not acted upon, the country will be at risk of a new civil war…I mean does this not count as arm twisting???
Last I checked this was not democracy in anyway or shape…
The reason I wrote this post was basically to reply to all those that, in the immediate future, will mark every single one of their arguments with “lets go for a publicly elected president” or “lets go for early parliamentary elections”…because believe me, they will be at it as soon as aouns words spread…

Though I don’t credit him with enough intelligence to follow the “David Copperfield style, I think that is it. Even Aoun can’t be as stupid or as to follow the “Hayfa Wehbi style”, but then again the man craves and loves attention. Seeing him around his followers, is like seeing a little boy at Christmas with his new toys.
I am sick and tired of HA and their weapons, taking the country hostage, because of the Lebanese fearing a civil war and Nasrallah thinking he has the upper hand because of his weapons (I know, I know we all are).
In regards to the “Israeli agents” comment, I was never surprised to hear such accusations from HA and such, but to hear it from ordinary followers of Aoun is another. How laughable is that??? Especially when they accuse other Christains of being such. Ya Allah inno what has the world come to in the last two years, what changed?? Yeah I know, Aoun happened.

This is the most stupid demand made by Aoun till date (and God knows he had made lots of stupid ones). How is he going to change/amend the constitution, even for ONE TIME ONLY, when parliament doors are closed?
I am convinced it is a David Copperfield style stunt, however he did not create it, the part is being given to him by Hassan Nasrallah. He is so eager to become president (calife a la place du calife), that they are playing him like a puppet, using him as a front because for them he is dispensable (un traitre perdu, dix retrouvés).
What I do not understand is how can some Lebanese still believe in him.

hi guys
how should i believe a man like michel aoun ,remember guys he used his chistianity since 1985 for syrian profit, 1rst when he put himself between assad hands(read fayez azzi book)he said put me president & i’ll give u everything u want from lebanon,2nd when assad doesn’t answer him he made (harb al ta7rir)& ( harb al ilgha2),rememeber guys this fucken idots threater know that he can’t defend the syrian attack & he insist to do it why? because he want destoy the last christian position to put it under syrian authority.now he want to rewind the same situation but on other face (with ha).this idot man he’s the 1rst enemy against christian.
n.b.:be careful gyus for the next 3 months, wait & see.but believe me this time it will be a hell for him.

It was no surprise, this was the HA demand long time ago and being a HA puppet it was expected from a man who inflicted the worse on chritians and Lebanon since the start of history on books. This is not the end ,this guy thinks he is a saint but acting like a hitler. I don,t blaim an idiot for being ,but for the followers it is a crime.
