This is the price Pr.Bush had to pay for the ‘facts’ concerning Iraqi MDWs and the Iraqi war that costed The US more than 2500 martyrs so far. The first victim of this loss was Rumsfeld who resigned and was replaced by Robert gates, introducted by Pr.Bush as “as a man who will “provide the department with a fresh perspective and new ideas” for the Iraq war”.

One seat is left undecided in Virginia and even though Democrats are claiming victory,a recount can be requested by the loser if the margin of votes between to candidates is less than one-quarter of 1 percent, and could take up to 2 to 3 weeks, knowing that so far the margin is very small, almost 2800 votes ( less than 1% of total votes).

Those elections will certainly effect the performance of the Bush administration for the rest of its mandate and most importantly the US foreign policy in the Middle East.

Its still very early to judge, Virginia elections wont be decided before the end of November but i sense our government needs to pick up the pace and finish all pending issues before Americans start isolating themselves from the world to fix their own problems.
