That’s always right. The state is always the one responsible for security and defense of its citizens. That’s what the Islamic religion states. However, in the total absence of the state, self defense in form of resistance is justified. You say religioin should have nothing to do with your security. Well the Islamic religion states that war decisions and security issues are solely the responsibility of the state. However, with the absence of the state resistance should be there. Here in Lebanon we have a state, thus all security issues and war an peace decisions should be made by the state. Priests and clerics just give the motivation necessary when the war is already there. That’s the way it should at least.

Tarek, that’s precisely the point, I accept to give my security to the government and its military, this is like accepting to have one authority that can use violence to defend me or arrest me if I do something wrong, but I don’t accept that religion has anything to do with my security. That’s my philosophy in life, I am not idealist or peace activist I accept there is violence as fact of life, but I don’t want a priest to stick his nose in my security, or to hijack my security like Hezbollah are doing today even if they were effective.

Kezballa, violence is a fact in history. Governments have armies for a reason. The thing is how to use violence. Can you imagine a state without an army?

Tarek, I am referring to verses like eye for an eye in Judaism, like verses about Jihad in Islam, there are over 150 verses in the Koran about Jihad, I (personally) want to see all reference to violence out of religious books, religion has no business telling people about liberating land and claiming holy land, religion should be only about how to lead a peaceful life otherwise people from different religion will always find an excuse to kill each other. BUT I agree with you another way is to reform the religious authority hierarchy, the problem is there will be power struggle and politics so some groups dominate other groups…

kezballa, there are no bad verses, there are wrong explanation for the verses. What is needed is better orientation and religious teaching. The problem in Islam is that the religious Hierarchy was lost after the destruction of the “khilafa”, so every time fanatics pop out and start making their own explanation of islam and there is no recognized higher authority to stop them. The Islamic societies around the world needs to re-establish the religious hierarchy to set things as they should.

Tarek, I think this dialogue was good, thank you for your time to explain your view. I agree with you that the religions teach a lot of good things but I also think they have to be improved with the times. I don’t pick one bad verse and say this is all Islam, it is the fanatics who take the verse and do all the terrorism with it, so I think the bad verse should be removed or at least ALL the religious authorities should be CLEAR and condemn it. If any cleric preach fanatism from this verse he should be put in jail. This is my view for Islam and other religions.

Ali1559, Who are you talking about? Who are the radicals and why you want to stop the dialogue?

اختطاف امراة مسيحية في برطلة

قامت مجموعة مجهولة باختطاف امراة مسيحية من برطلة قبل ثلاثة ايام في منطقة قريبة جدا من برطلة ، وتطلب هذه الجهة المجهولة فدية مادية كبيرة لقاء اطلاق سراحها.

ويذكر ان هذه المراة متزوجة وهي ام لخمسة اطفال .

اقدمت مجموعات ارهابية مجرمة البارحة، الجمعية المصادف 14/3/2008 على قتل الشاب البريء راني يوسف حنا عندما كان خارجا من كنيسة مار توما للآثوريين في حي النور بالموصل. وقد حاول المجرمون في بداية الامر اختطاف الشاب الا انه قاومهم وحاول الافلات منهم مما ادى بهم الى اطلاق النار عليه فاردوه قتيلا.

وكان راني قد هاجر مع عائلته الى سوريا قبل سنتين بسبب ملاحقات الارهابيين لهم لكنه عاد قبل اسبوعين الى الموصل لتسيير بعض الامور ومن ثم العودة الى سوريا مجددا.

وقد تم نقل جثمان الشهيد راني اليوم الى تلكيف (مدينة والده) ليوارى الثرى.

نبذه عن حياة الشهيد راني يوسف حنا:
من مواليد 1983/1/6 ولد في الموصل وعاش فيها عامين بعدها انتقلوا الى بغداد وعاش في بغداد درس في مدرسة الفرات الاعداية لم يكمل دراسته بسبب الحرب على العراق عام 2003 ترك المدرسة وهو في الصف السادس ادبي وسافر عام 2005 الى سوريا وعاش هناك.

منذ طفولته كان يحب الدين كثيرا وكان هدفة في الحياة ان يصبح استاذ دين وبعد خروجة من العراق عام 2005 التحق باحدى الكنائيس في سورية واصبح معلم فيها يعلم الاطفال الدين والصلاة والتراتيل تناول على يد الشهيد المطران بولص فرج رحو وقد.
