Whats wrong with Sanioura?
Posted by N10452I mean I really think he s doing an amazing diplomatic effort and is exploiting every single second trying to end up this war in Lebanon’s favor, but does he have to cry?
I saw him almost crying during the first meeting with foreign ambassadors, then yesterday he lost it. I understand the pressure and stress and all but come on!! Do we wanna look weaker than we already are?
I just find it weird and unlikely of a prime minister, I keep on thinking he’s playing it emotionally to leave a trace in every country’s representative. Anyway Lebanon is crying its martyrs and its villages, is crying its youth leaving, maybe we should all drop a tear from time to time if it helps to end this ugly war.

I think Sanioura crying is something nobody wanted to see. Lebanon is going through tough times and seeing one of our respected leaders breakdown in front of the world does not show how strong we are as people.
However, what it does do is humanize the situation in Lebanon to others looking in from the outside. I think when he was pleading and showed his emotions, it showed us many traits about this man. One of them being that he actually cares about the country’s well-being. It shows that he is very proud and patriotic like his late friend Rafic Harriri.
I actually respect him more now because I know he has good intentions for the country. What happened yesterday also made me realise something; Whether you are in favor or against the Israeli campaign in Lebanon, it still hurts to watch your country rise from the ashes only to become ashes because of the actions of those who speak for us.
Sanioura shed tears of frustration and I am sure most of Lebanon is by his side.

Just to correct myself, I meant to say it hurts to watch your country rise from ashes only to become ashes because of the actions of those who DO NOT speak for us.

Cedar1,
Its true but i cannot but think of leaders like Sheikh Pierre Gemayel or Sheikh Bashir Gemayel or Camille Chamoun And Hakim who lived more stressfull and tragic moments and never shed a tear ..
We miss having such men these days ..

he’s crying little more then he should, and if it’s sincere then that’s fine. anyway it’s not like the crying is stoping him from doing the work he’s supposed to do.
