So Federer lost in tennis today …
Posted by N10452Believe it or not, but i’ve reached a point where i care more about who wins in a Tennis game than who died in a bombing in Lebanon …
We have become so numb and careless and senseless to those explosions that we are turning into heartless individuals…
We are getting used to bombings and assassinations, this is the sickest habit one can have …
Another bomb, another martyr, innocent civilians killed, cars and public properties destroyed ..
Everyone calls everyone he knows, then we condemn, then we have the popular funeral, then we move on …
Another fine young man is gone …

I def think Hezballah and Israel are together under the table to break up Lebanon as a Christian country…Also, I think N you’re great and I agree with pretty much all of your points. Keep up the good work!

I live outside of Lebanon and I have this anger and frustration towards Lebanon. Everyday I wished I can go back and never live where I am now. I changed my major so that I will move back to Lebanon soon but now I am changing my mind. I am even changing my mind about going this summer. The ppl who live outside of Lebanon r dying to come to leb but I think now it is changing. I am very ashamed to say this but we don’t deserve Lebanon and especially the ppl living in it now.

man, n, i have been thinking the same thing all day. how is it possible we’ve gotten this numb??
twice last week i passed by chevrolet at around 10am… but even with that coincidence, it didn’t faze me at all when i heard… a3deh… but how sad is that?!?
9. fad14 | January 26th, 2008 at 8:22 am
What is sad is that Hizbulla is eliminating all people who are gathering clues on their involvement in the killing.
First they object politically and then they threaten and then they kill and its so very obvious.
Its the same efforts they used to give against the attacks on Israeli soldiers now they are using on Lebanese people.
all road side bombs, typical Hizbulla tactics, only now there is no one to bomb their areas after each attack.

Tennis, ice skating competions, these are welcome diversions from a sometimes intolerable situation.
Meditation can also relieve stress. There is a good free meditation tape on the internet. Just type in :meditation tape free
Have a good day, N. and others who are trying to lead a normal life.

what is the difference between us in Lebanon and the rest of the world???
in reading this posting, we can realize the difference, which is that in Lebanon we have the priority to always search for protection and prevention, and we always live in fear and frustration, while in the whole world they have other interests, among them who’s winning in Tennis, Federer or anyone else.
This is the problem, we shoul live in peace to take care of other interests, since in Lebanon all we care about is security, Electricity and telephone bills, higher prices, bad roads, bad poolitics etc…
we have million stories with every day passing in Lebanon, and with every explosion there is another mysery, the last one i know happened to Elie Fares, a young and enthusiastic lawyer I know, father of 2 children, he was killed in the blast yesterday, and all his fault is he was passing there going to his work.
I know there are many similar sad stories, and there will be in the future, so what to do???
I know it is hard to live in Lebanon in the current situation, even though i live abroad, but i was there during the years of war, and I myself was nearly a target for some shells and blasts since i was living in Ain Remmaneh.
No one was responsible for innocent people at that time, and no one is now, so I don’t blame any Lebanese who’s searching for an opportunity abroad, i fought that trend for years, but I just followed the pace at the end, and this is what they want, our ennemies, but no one is supporting our will to stay, we have no rersources left, we are disappointed even from our own leaders and citizens.
14. SONIA | January 26th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
Delta, what I said was that some of us are Trying to lead a normal life in the midst of an abnormal situation.
Take a break and don’t dwell too long on your sorrows. You deserve some fun too.

LebAmerican,Israel and Hizbullah together… Is this your idea of a joke or what?
16. Irange | January 26th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
N,
You know i think we are getting close to a point where we will not even check who died. this the 21st bombardment. did you noticed that even the phone line blockage duration is getting shorter?
no one is thinking of a solution, it murder time issue.
God bless us & forbid that we die burned in our cars.
Best regards,

To me it’s not a joke it’s a fact. I am not saying they’re together because they like each other, but rather beause they have a common cause - get rid of Christians in Lebanon. Isreal wants them out of Lebanon for economic reasons and Hezballah because they want to Islamasize Lebanon. I believe Israel wants to be what Lebanon was in its glory days - the economic hub of the Middle East and they know as long as there are Christians in Lebanon and numerous moderate Muslims that that will never happen. Just in case you’ll question me about why they may want Christians out of Lebanon, look at it like this: what other city in the Middle East has over 100 world banks in it besides Beirut? Also, they know once the Christians are out the country will be run by thugs who don’t care about having a prosperous Lebanon but rather acquiring and storing a large cache of weapons and gaining large sums of money for themselves while the majority are poor and starving. I am not saying that it was because of Christians only that Lebanon prospered over the years, but they were a huge contributing factor, but Isreal knows they can never run out any Muslim from the Middle East because there are so many of them and it is impossible. Hezballah we all know they want Christians and the moderate Muslims out so they can Islamasize the state, I don’t think I need to explain further here, we are watching this happen and unfold day by day before our eyes. To finally explain a tad more, I don’t necessarily mean that Hez and Israel are working directly together, it’s just that their common goal forces them to work together whether they like it or not. And we cannot rule out any possibilty, because this is Lebanon we are talking about, and on some level it could be possible that Hez and Israel higher ups have an understanding with each other to get through this hurdle together and then whatever happens after is another story.
18. SONIA | January 27th, 2008 at 10:36 am
When Peace and coexistence comes to this region, both Lebanon and Israel will prosper. Why the competion? All European countries live side by side and benefit mutually. This as it should be.
Israelis (I am one of them) consider Christian Lebanese to be allies and possible partners in peace.
You have got it all wrong,LebAmerican. Who cares how many banks will flourish in a peaceful Lebanon? More tourists in this area will bring back the good life. I hope many will visit Lebanon. Why should it disturb me?
19. Michele | January 27th, 2008 at 10:59 am
So Delta according to you who did it?

21. Rodge | January 27th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
i want to ask a question: maybe it doesn’t mean anything, and i think it’s naive to point at something or a background here, but did you notice that in all the blasts and assassinations, the OTV camera is the first one to arrive at the scene, regardless where the area of the accident.
and to add, the first media to know who is the targeted personnality, is always either NBN or NTV.
Of course, i assume the killers are not informing them in advance, but I’m just asking, because i find it strange!!!!!!
22. Michele | January 27th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
But why do u think that Syria and Hezb are not behind it? I’m not saying they are, but usually we always tend to accuse our official ennemies.
I do agree that by now our govt should take better precautions and be pro-active. It is truly frustrating, especially when they show up on TV to say that:” biyestankero” as if this would do any difference.
23. Michele | January 27th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
OMG, Rodge i always thought the same!!!!
a Aounist friend pointed it out to me proudly that OTV is always the 1st to get at the crime scene and i replied just the way u did!
Of course to tease him but they might be some truth in it
24. Rodge | January 27th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
really Michele, i’m confused and I can’t find an answer, especially in Beirut where the roads are always jammed.
I can think of 2 reasons:
- even they are travelling all day on the road and in nearly all the areas, and this is dangerous for them they might be the event instead of covering it.
- the second is that they are receiving tips to be around some places without getting into details.
and Michele, i’m still waiting for you to contact me, use rodge27@gmail
