Free...we're not going to debate who wanted and who didn't as we will get nowhere as each one of us will say one thing and its contrary...

Let's look at it from a different angle. Up to 2005, Syria was the main player in lebanese politics agreed or not? the christian voters were known to be anti-syrian or not? syria wanted to stay or not? would have syria wanted the christains voice to weigh much or not?, answer those questions and think a bit....the answer is easy, Syria to increase its chances to stay in lebanon didn't want the 1960 law...simple logic...UNLESS, Syria had allready cut a deal with general taratatatata.

Let me know which one of the 2 espelnations you prefer but you definitely can't have it both ways...

fuziad
maybe u have no idea of what happened or what is happening in lebanon . but let me refresh ur memory a bit .
the 2000 electoral law was made by ur ewet allies now (mainly hariri the father) . then sleiman franjiyyi (who u accuse of being the worst politician in lebanon) when he was wazeer el dakhliyyi just before 2005 elections proposed the 1960 law (which was wanted by the patriarch). he sent it to majles el wozara . then someone worked their best to yefertou el jalsi so that the 1960 role doesn't go through . now ya shatir do u know who stuffed the jalsi up? eh ya shatir u should know . it's the 14 shbat 3isabi including hariri, jombi, ewatjiyyi and mainly ertet shehwan who used to go every day to the patriarch and say henni ta7et 3abeytou. now be a shatir and guess why they did that . yes u are shatir. they did that in order to keep the 2000 role so they can win a couple of seats here and there by the sunnis votes.
so please before u say the zghertewiyyi are syrians go see what ur ewatjiyyi and ertet shehwan truely are and what they truely work for.
wlak even in doha they did their best to try not go with the 1960 law . but this time ma fasharou. this time the christians won and u wahhabi foillowers lost .

genius4life, I didn't say that march 14 were a minority among christians...I said they were a minority in zgaharta where people have a long tradition of being pro syrians. And to answer your question on why they got elected: they got elected in elections that were made under the 2000 that Nabih Berri, oustazoukoum, had stopped the parliament from amending, that mixed sunni and christian voters. And by the way you said that only christians should vote for christians??

And then i have to thank you for saying that when sleiman frangié was minster of health he used his power to give priviliges to people in his regions so he gets more popular. If this is not feodlasim, corruption and ma7soubiet than I don't what it is. We all know what sleiman frangie did when he was minister of health but this is not something you should be proud of...please let em know if you realize that now and wonder what kind of hablané you just said, ya taghyir w esla7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sniper
let me explain something to u . i am not a marada . i am aoun supporter . and aounists surely didn't do all what u accused them above of doing .
second, why do u ewatjiyyi get so frustrated and scared every time 2 major christian groups unite and agree? why do u follow the syrian method of divide and conquor? u should be happy that the majority of christians especially in zgharta area) are united (aoun and franjiyyi).
we are working for the christian unity and u and ertet shehwan are working for dividing them.
by the way, it is better for u to join us rather than stay out of the christian unity because this will make u more hated (u are already rejected by the majority) .

Leb4Life,
you sold your souls to the Syrians and to their officerss, you fulfilled all their needs, you collaborated against your own people, you dined in their homes and had coffee with them, you took care of yourselves and left your brothers for the dead. You stole from businesses in mid daylights with full pride (2abadayet), remember shirkit el trabe bi chekka, nzeltou fiyoun sir2a w' nhib walla 7aram. You fulfilled the "mazra2a" model, god have mercy on Bashir Gemayel, this man was right in every way. Allah yir7am trabak ya Bashir. For all these reasons and many, the syrians didn't enforce checkpoints in zgharta.
Does that make you proud. Allah yil3an el doooolar.

fuziad
it's good that u agree that nayla and samir are minority . now please tell me why are they members of parliament then? the same applies to 4 of the ewet 5 seats .
to answer ur question : there was never tention between aounists and franjiyyi in zgharta . there was (and is) mutual respect . sleiman, when he was minister of health, provided many services for ALL people from zgharta zawyi and even from tripoli and danniyyi and akkar . he was very helpful and probably that's why he has such a sha3biyyi in zgharta . he used to help even those who didn't support him. plus, he (and his grandfather) were the reason why we had no syrian occupation in zgharta . we, the people of zgharta and its villiages, are not used to , and can not be used to accepting the fact that there is a syrian (or any) jazma on our head. while during the syrian occupation there were syrians inside bsharri .
i am not sure which part of zgharta terkeebi u don't understand but it's good that u at least accept the fact that ur 14 march 3isabi are a minority among christians.
