17 sessions ago, i posted urging M14 to vote for a president at all cost, because if we dont vote on the first time, we will never vote again … The Opposition does NOT want a president and Compromise will only weaken Christians were two other posts where i asked M14 & Christian to vote for a president asap !

Today, Nabih Berri achieved what he has so long been waiting for, he adjourned the session until further notice .. which means we will indeed have a hot summer, as Welch said.

What is the altenative ??

It has always been there and i wish M14 would translate their threats into action, a 50+1 vote that will get us out of this mess ..
What can the Opposition do ?? demonstrate ? organize sit ins ? start a war ??

I believe M14 can confront all of those scenarios …

Unfortunatelly, i still think M14 lack some guts and wont do anything and this is definitly not good news !

seriously do u think that lebanese people can still survive another war.. i think they had enough so stop ripping on the M14 and just be grateful

Our lebanese leaders interact with each other in a variety of ways because they are driven by a variety of foreign forces. They have different political goals and needs, but at the same time they all share the same identity as LEBANESE LEADERS. Each individual experiences these needs in different ways and level. Still, all of them always fail to achieve any goals or solutions while the presidential crisis remains as is. What a shame.

As adults in here, we will discover that our leaders (both 8&14th) will continue to attempt to fix the prb using their own political agenda as INDIVIDUALS and only individuals.

It is time for both side to put the past behind them and start a new page . A patriotic page where we’re all lebanese .

    its not that simple:

-if M14 vote a president with the 50+1, nothing stops the M8 from doing the same on there side and voting their own president

    -then 2 goverments
-the army will split between them

    And war…

We had this in 88 remember?

I am with a 50+1 voting, but I am not sure I can survive the consequences.

  • 10. Ziyad | April 23rd, 2008 at 12:34 pm

The main reason why m14 doesn’t go with 50+1 is because it doesn’t have 50+1 MP’s willing to do it…m14 is not 1 homogenous group and some of it’s MP refuses 50+1…thus it can’t do it even if geagea, hariri jumblatt gemayel agree on doing so…

Also we have to say that eventhough the acceptance of the consensus president and of Michel Suleiman in particular was done at one stage where we were feeling the heat (idiot sarkozy having decided to cut a deal with bashar) and some in m14 thinking of changing sides, the decision turned out to be a good one as it brought the so called “neutrals” and most importantly the army closer to m14…

    RE: Ziyad

The main reason why m8 didn’t yet ruin the country is because it doesn’t even agree on how to do that… Thank God m14 is not homogenous, at least the prophets of democracy should start with themselves.

Idiots bashar and najad still don’t have any support from any country in the world, even russia and china don’t agree with their ways and only working with them to tease the usa and europe.
Some of m8 allready changed sides, the rest are going crazy…

  • 15. Michele | April 23rd, 2008 at 2:12 pm

    Ananas … Ananas !

  • 16. Ziyad | April 23rd, 2008 at 4:21 pm

Agreed Roch, c’est la debandade in m8 ranks…but this rather new and due to some late developments. In fact, until the recent blows they got in their faces they were quite united. The only difference was on the issue of civil war that Syria wanted and Iran vetoed…other than that they had agreed on destroying the country.

Probably the biggest blow was the assasination of mloukiyeh in the center of damascus, you couldn’t dream of anything better given that all those who knew a bit about hezbollah knew that mloukiyeh was the real n1 hassouna being only the public figure. What adds to the fun is that apprently this was courtesy of assef shawkat who had cut a deal with the US through the frenchies to take over the regime…this was a coup, it failed, but it was a coup and from inside the assad family…bashar must be wetting himself. Ghazi Kanaan then Assef Shawakt, who’s next? Maher? probably…

Of course the Iranians didn’t like too much the incompetency of their allies and both them and their lebanese pasdarans were pissed further when Syria banned the reprisals operations against Israel as a result of the direct warning it got from Israel that this time damascus would be bombed…ha ha what a laugh

Then came the arab league summit with the saudi and egyptian boycott which added further pressure on bicho…

You add to this their political failure internally and you get a completely divided mou3arada…probably the only ones who are still holding together are those who have no function other than being syrian agents like wiiam wahhab and michel aoun…

Now we need to be careful, when totally cornered those dogs can becaome harmful, but not for too long…victory is near at least on the Syrian file, now we will have to deal with the Iran issue…

  • 17. Tarek | April 23rd, 2008 at 7:11 pm

The president should be elected by the 50 + 1. If this was ignored, that means we are giving the 33% + 1 of the parliment the right to stop any presidential elections which is unimaginable.

  • 18. EX-H.A | April 23rd, 2008 at 8:29 pm

    Lebanese fools, (i.e H.A supporters),

    It’s a joke upon you ….

from your politics and acts towards lebanon the only beneficiary is israel …

I used to be H.A, I used to witness most of the deals that used to occur on the borders between H.A and Israel. (drugs, alcohol, weapons …) that’s what made me leave H.A and also leave the country from being murdered or jailed, I’m now in romania.

    * Downtown tents is killing tourism (israel’s benefits)
    * H.A war threats, no tourists (israel’s benefit)
    * i can go on in showing you that all acts performed by H.A is in sirael’s benefit … and israel benefits everytime H.A’s hatred grows towards israel and usa, that’s what israel wants and that’s all in israel’s advantage

throughout my service with H.A, I used to close an eye on some of the bad things H.A used to do by making deals with israelis

but lately this thing started making me seem like a fool and like i’m being laughed at ,, all that i beleived in was a fake, they made us beleive that we are fighting for a cause for lebanon and for our islam, turns out that we are fighting against lebanon against our cause and against our cause

some might not understand what I mean, some of my fellow ex-fighters might

My house in Dahieh was torn down so is my house in Rmeich, they promised me they will pay for repair, they only paid me 12,000 $ not even enough for kitchen furniture, all the money that was supposed to come to my family and house went straight to buy some political voices (ie general and his relatives, fihemkon kfeyeh).

to all lebanese especially H.A, slow down and take a look around you, you are alone and you are used as bait and sacrifice chess pieces
