After postingabout Attacks on Hakim’s visit to Mufti Qabbani, it seems LF finally justified the visit through its representative Elie Keyrouz.

Even though i was hoping for an official reply from the party, Kayrouz’s answer was a good one.

One interesting fact about this visit is that neither Bashir Gemayel nor Elie Hobeika nor any LF previous leaders were able to visit the Mufti like Hakim did.
This visit was prepared closely by Hariri and sponsored by KSA.

Elie Keyrouz, in his interview with Addiyar, explains the the reconciliation between the Sunnite and Christian community have reached high levels and that the strategic alliance between the LF & FM is growing stronger by the day.

This visit to Mufti Qabbani did not just pop out of nowhere, but came after a series of ‘contraversial’ visits done by both sides, starting with Strida’s call to Late Matyr Rafic Hariri 2 months before his assasination, to Dr.Fatfat’s visit to Strida during elections, and finally during the 14th of February 2006 gathering where the LF & FM followers met to cheer for their leaders and confirm the strategic alliance.

As for the attacks on this visit, Keyrouz noted that Syria has always targetted the Dar el Ifta during the previous year and even founded the Ahbash group to try disrupt the Dar el Ifta role in the Sunnite community.
The attacks were nothing but an echo of the Syrian regime and are not worthy being replied to.

Finally, it should be note that Jumblatt today answered the attacks on Hakim’s visit through a PR published in AlBalad newspaper.

Mr. Keyrouz forgot to mention that Hariri made a deal with Samir Geagea to allow him to get out of jail. Meaning Hakim had to compromise to get out. The LF agreed on Taef, ya3ne it can meet who ever it wants. The Mufti saw Samir Geagea simply because Hariri put him as mufti and pay him a cheque every month. So Keyrouz and others can’t sell anything anymore. People are not that dumb. if some the LF followers do not see lies, well others do

dear claude: check your sources and your references as you are just echoeing orangish stuff.
    1. Mufti Qabbani was assigned after death of Hassan Khaled and by Syria who also killed Mufti Hassan Khaled,
    2. The Mufti is the highest sunni religious figure and gets more checques from many sources and more than you even imagine.
    3. LF agreed on Taef before Geagea went to prison.
    4. Perhaps Tayyar.mourge is more interested in your lovely stories, they remind me of how we won the war last month and kicked Israel out of Shebaa.

    Claude ,

What is your problem if Samir Geagea met the Mufti?.

LF agreed on Taef just to stop crazy Aoun from destroying East Beirut and to stop christian christian or brother to brother fight.

If what your saying is right about deals , why Samir Geagea stayed in Prison for 12 years ?.

Setrida and many loyal LFs never stopped from asking of freeing Samir Geagea .

At the end if you really beleives in LF , you will know that Ouwet hiyeh adiyeh mahadan bye2der yghayerla khata , li2anou shouhada Ouwet w ekhwenon bel ahrar wel kataeb w tanzim w herass arez rassamou khat mou2awameh men zamen .

I do not believe that some of our commrades are arguing about this.
Everyone who wants to be active and want to have a role in rebuilding the Owat has his chance now from inside the institution not from the media.
I think the Hakim is doing geat as he is not leaving beside him any negative people.
This is our test as LF now to prove that we are politically as strong as when we had our arms.
To all commrades:protests are within the institution not on the media.
Long live Owat and Hakim and may bash watch us from heaven and inspire some of us.
