A shameful day ….
Posted by N10452Today was another day in the Decline of the Lebanese Christians ..
First phase was Cairo agreement in the 1969, then Taef agreement in 1990 and today we enter one of the final phases of the Maronites’ decline and consequently Lebanon’s decline ..
Sunnites & Shiites agreed in Doha, and Christian leaders were there watching and clapping, and even those who critisize were ignored. The ‘Resistance’ stays, The Opposition is given a veto right in the government, Hariri keeps Beirut and we get a sissy gutless pro-syrian president !!!
Today reminds me of 1998, when all Christians were filled with happiness and celebrating on the streets because a certain Emile Lahoud was being elected. They all saw in him the saviour and he turned out to be the biggest traitor to his country and his people and his Christian community.
Mabrouk lal Christians … mkayfeen sar fiyoun yinzalo 3al DT yosharo !!
Shame on our leaders, i dont blame Michel Aoun because i know what he is made of .. but what did Samir Geagea achieve in the past 18 months ?? what did our strategic alliance get us to ????
I think it is time today and at this moment for the LF and for Hakim to revise his alliances, revise his political advisors, because the least i can say is that they are a bunch of idiots who led him to dead ends on each major event ..
We will topple Lahoud, we wont give them the veto right, we will elect with 50+1 if we had to, we will mention HA’s weapons in Doha discussions … all empty talks that even our allies were condemning !
Why did all those martyrs die for ? Why did Pierre die ? Why Gebran ?? Why Ramzi ? Why Antoine ?
Why did all those poor civilians die in the latest events ??
Walla di3anoun hal shabeb bi hek massi7iyye wou bi hek balad …
Shame.

N,
you forgot “Mnifta7 bay bayya la tarik al matar” in your list of empty talks
2. Rambo | May 21st, 2008 at 7:51 pm
Thank you N10452,
Good article. Aoun yes we know what he is made off but I think he will kick ass in next election because he will be the hero for standing for the christians right to elect Christian represantatives. He will go to the Patriarch and tell him voila I present to you what March 14 and Qornet Shahwan not only didn’t present but stabbed you in the back.
As for Geagea wasn’t lost in translation as LJ said in another post, he was trying to defend the Sunnite rights more than the Christians right. He forgot that he is the son of the Christians Resistance. This what happens when you bow to Saad so he releases you from jail. You have to bow and bow and keep bowing. Pay back is a bitch. And Geagea has to keep paying.
In a real world where humans are treated like humans, where you have checks and balances, the LF will bring Geagea and tell him show us what you did in the last 2 years. Here are your promises and none of them came true. Our dear leader, you suffered enough in jail and it is time for you to go enjoy your life with your wife. Go live your life and let us at least cut our losses.

this is a temporary solution..
No one can convince me that these politicians have found a solution within 3 days.the geographical distribution of the confessions is too complicated, and these geniuses know exactly where these areas begin and end?!!!who can prevent HA to expropriate 3ein rimeneh or tari2 jdideh if it can keep weapons.nasrallah has often broken his promises…la sila7 fi dakhel… it all looks simple, but I am sure , the conflict will erupt as soon as the government begins with the details.

Dear N,
well i agree with u 100 % in what u said about 7akim.. as i said in a previous post i’m a lf supporter but 7akim is living on another planet and his allies fet7in 3a 7ssebon..
as for michel aoun of course we will not blame him but i wanna ask the people who are commenting & saying that aoun is standing for the christians right for elections… why didn’t he ask to seperate marje3youn from 7assbaya for ex. if he really cares about christians voices??
anyway the good thing is that Lebanon will be able to breath for some time…
For 7akim for sure he lost too much credits but i don’t think for the favor of michel aoun… and there’s still 1 year for the elections, the coalitions may change and it’s still early ro predict the results..
let’s now wait and see how the ministries will be divided, who will be the chief of army, maybe it’s not finished yet…
Another thing are they going to “ADJUST THE CONSTITUTION” before they elect michel sleyman??? if not any part can object in the future and “yet3an bil intikhabet” and it will be legal (especially after 2009 elections)…
one last thing, N can post something about 1960’s election law? as u know in that time the deputies nb was less than 128 and the christians had 55% of the deputies… so just to see how they adjusted it…
Cheers.

what hapenned is that Jumblat is safe now in 3aley with Talal erslan and his 11000 voters, is safe in b3abda after he kept for berri hasbayya marje3yoon joint together thus gaining some shi3a voters in b3abda, keeping a thin line with Nasrallah by keeping west bekaa joint with rashayya and shutting the mouth of Geagea from talking about deir el ahmar and kept b3albak el hirmel joint.as for Sa3d it’s better for him to stop talking about sacrifice, this guy thinks MONEY and nothing else, the share in soliderre just 2 days ago was sold at 24$,after the DOHA agreement it hit in London 41$ and in lebanon 32$ and the best still to come, as for the international tribune i think it’ll be GONE WITH THE WIND especially after the serious peace agreement held in Turkey between israel and syria. as for Geagea,he was with MAY CHIDIAC and he was talking about the armenian seat in Beirut and how it is very important not to give it for them since they r allied with Aoun and Hizballa, why did he forget about deir el ahmar?tarek habshi took in 2005 elections 27000 christian vote but Nader Succar won with 115000 shi3a votes, did he remember that or for the eye of sa3d KILLO BIHOON? as for nayla,i think sleiman will wipe his ass with her next year,
I WILL REMIND YOU WHEN 14 MARCH CHRISTIAN WILL RE-ELCT BERRI AS THE HEAD OF THE PARLIAMENT AGAIN.
13. Elie.F. | May 22nd, 2008 at 1:23 am
1 more question,
what if the new bayen el wizari will back up and support again the weapons of hizballa against israel, will 14 march christians and sunni’s vote for the new government and loose more of their credebility?
2: what if the bayen el wizari will not mention anything about the weapon of hizballa thus not backing it up against Israel, will the shi3a and 8 march christians vote for the new government or go back to tents language?
This is just 1 simple question.
we still have too much pain before we gain brothers.
14. bashirist for life | May 22nd, 2008 at 1:53 am
As i said in a previous post regarding those meetings, we are doomed and screwed once again, it’s time to have a leader with balls. What a shame.
15. Independentist | May 22nd, 2008 at 1:59 am
Just a side note: The Lebanese Forces and the hakim have to start adopting a more aggressive Christian tone, even if it is sectarian. I am not Christian, and I would not mind that the Lebanese forces adopt a more sectarian language towards everything if that means fighting the FPM on a better playing field in the coming elections. The Christians will define the future of Lebanon in the 2009 elections, so please LF be more aggressive even if that means distancing yourselves (not withdrawing) from March 14. Lebanon’s future is on the line here.
16. ceg | May 22nd, 2008 at 2:49 am
Pardon my language, but what a bunch of fucking assholes these Lebanese politicians, “our” politicians, are. All these issues that were to be addressed, and not giving in to Opposition demands. N you are so right, what a sad day for Christians and all Lebanese, in fact. Veto power to HezbAyri and nothing mentioned about their weapons which was a central issue, w’il ayourieh Sleiman rah i’koon il ra2is. Enjoy this Summer of peace Lebanon, because with these new guidlines it doesn’t look like you will be seeing many more peaceful days in general.

20. eddy | May 22nd, 2008 at 10:07 am
…so is it over for us Christians? (i mean Christiams not Aounist) did we loose the last hope? can anything save back our dear country the way we dreamed all time? what shall we do at least for the near future!! frankly i cannot trust the LF organisation anymore we lost 15years waiting for the them to make a miracle but let us not dream , miracle cannot be done when our last hope/leader does think difrently.
but i am sure that some people still have a bit of brain and us Christian should think or start in something new (at least we know its clean, not with a shamefull and misterious history)maybe im still dreaming…
21. fad14 | May 22nd, 2008 at 11:28 am
What did Aoun win, I don’t understand what Aoun won ?
Let the elections talk, lets see whats in the new Gov ?
Aoun is not president, what did he win ???
If he is not president, he lost everything, he doesn’t have any agenda or plan or anything, he just got the Armenians more seats,
I say let the days talk. I feel we lost alot with this agreement but maybe we did win back some stability if only temporary.
22. Rambo | May 22nd, 2008 at 12:31 pm
“The Lebanese Forces and the hakim have to start adopting a more aggressive Christian tone, even if it is sectarian.”
They can’t as long as Geagea keeps his alliance with Saad. He can’t break this alliance, it seems there is a lot of money there.
23. Michele | May 22nd, 2008 at 1:02 pm
Lek ya Rambo, baddal ma tenafekh 3adaletak nafekhlé shi shay 3akletak??!!!
What abt Aoun n his alliance wz HN n z “mal al nazif”?
Hmmm don’t u wonder a bit how suddenly him and his clan around became suddenly so wealthy?
24. Arze | May 22nd, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Now u can understand the strategic long term Vision of Aoun , when everybody was swearing at him , now you understand why he allied with HA ….
He won…and now there is a hope for the Christians.
He also proved that he couldnt care less about the presidency . Now the cards are shown , now we know who had the big role in the christian side …Geagea or Aoun …
25. Rodge | May 22nd, 2008 at 2:43 pm
It was a shameful day for all Lebanese.
Everyone here is trying to prove that his people won while the others lost.
It is a shameful day, it is a shameful era, they are shameful leaders, only for one reason, they are not able to stop the war, which is going on since more than 33 years now, and it would last for centuries, because no one is able to take a historical decision.
We don’t need agreements like the one they signed in Doha, we need treatment, we need final solution for this country, something that will ensure we’ll live in peace for ever, not every year or few months we’ll have a crisis.
This is not an agreement, this is a deal done by the bigger countries and executed by our so called leaders.
Can anyone tell me how they will distribute Ministries now? how they will take decisions in the Government? How this country can go on if a decision taken by a side that will not be approved by the other side? no one can gather the needed votes.
They are looking for their interests. No one cares about us the people, and no one tells me Aoun proved he was right, because he didn’t, he only cares about how much deputies and ministers he would gain, and just wait for the next days to see how will they find a solution for the next Government formation. Who will take the Ministry of Interior, the Foreign Affairs, Justice, etc… Who will be the next Army commander. Lots of things will not find any solution, and the situation will get worth.
HOUKOUMIT WEHDE WATANIYEH??? MA 7ADA TAYI2 7ADA.
You people here are cursing and attacking and disrespecting each others. At least show some respect towards ur Lebanese brothers.
In my opinion, we should start to discuss our future as youth, as men ands women, as patriots, as Lebanese, we shoulf try to find common things to start with, and then try to find a better future, a long and lasting future, cause those politicians can’t do nothing good for us.
Wake up everybody, and start to act as Lebanese, not as parties in Lebanon.
26. fad14 | May 22nd, 2008 at 4:57 pm
To Anze: your allies still have their weapons, we still have dead people unburried and we have justice to be fullfilled.
Aoun got nothing, read the news from an objective way, he got nothing.
His party is called Fix and Change, he fixed nothing and he really changed nothing. He didn’t invent anything and he surely lost the presidency.
He got NOTHING. His agreement with Hizbulla didnt stop them from entering the Christian areas, it gave them power to attack the other knowing their back is protected.
back to the facts: March 14 is still majority in Parliament and ministries, we know all of us how many votes they will get in the next elections and we all know that Aoun can only get elected again if he runs from an area controlled by Hizbulla only.
Next elections will give him his real size. He is not a president or even close to it or will ever see it again.
The split in Ashrafieh was just to give him something to brag about as HE LOST EVERYTHING and as usual and like 1990 he transferred his loss to SYRIA and its allies.
