Where do the Christians stand from this crisis ?

The nature of the conflict btw the 14th and 8th of march teams started after the July war primarily between the Shiites and Sunnites, however it was turned into a Christian-Christian fight after the black Tuesday and nowadays i sense that Aoun & Geagea and the Christians in general are the problem for Hezbollah & Hariri and that any solution will require weakening one Christian side further.

The current government includes only 1 LF minister, while Aounists have none.
The LF will not accept having less ministers than Aoun in the ‘adjusted’ government and vice versa.

So both teams are increasing their speech levels and going to the extremes while Hariri and Berri are having dialogues.

Christians have put themselves in a losing position because of their behavior, mainly cause of Aoun’s behavior and his ‘agreement’ with Hezbollah that splitted the Christian community like no other agreement did.

Hakim has regained some of his popularity on the Christian level but the lack of initiatives and the few mistakes being done are keeping him on the same level as Aoun. I blame him for example for reaching low levels in some speeches, mainly when addressing Lahoud.

Al-Akhbar reported today that Geagea is uneased with the way discussions are going btw Hariri & Berri, i dont trust this paper a lot, but this says a lot about our position as Christians.

In Summary, i see it this way.
While Hariri,Jumblatt and Berri,Nasrallah are strenghening their positions, the Christian leaders are still divided and the Christian population is leaving.

    It has always been like this, everyone ends up making agreements behind our backs, everyone gets along and put their stuff together while we constantly fight each other…

    Yesalamli Temak… and this is what Syria wants: weak Christians inside and masses with no influence outside. Christians need to be careful and plan it well. Aoun won the elections because the Hakim was in prison. Hakim won the Christians back because he came out of prison wiser. Unfortunately, his last speeches showed great insight but not wisdom! I support Hakim, I just wish he goes back to the wisdom rather using low level language (although it attracts the layman.) I think Botros Harb is one of the few Christians who ha the right wisdom, he ca use layman terms to express it… and he did not leave the country… yet!

    My friends, Al-Akhbar is the mouthpiece of Hizballah. HA is trying hard to split the March 14 group!
    Second, Hariri is working with all parties in the March 14 group. Did you ever notice that his “Christian” advisor is always with him whenever he meets with anyone. Please stay together to defend and protect Lebanon!

    Guys ,

    Yesterday i could not understand why Tayyar was present in SSNP festival .

    Common guys this political deosn’t even beleive in Lebanon or its Sovereignty .We saw them all yesterday how they were shouting thank you syria and syria and syria and Assad Family and ……

    If you spoke to any Tayyar supporter or LF supporter you will come to know that We will never be united.

    we are not that smart as christians to be united .What we are good in it is to blame each other and keep digging in history .

    Rachelle, wake up unfortunatly Tehran and Saoudi Arabia will decide for us through hariri and berri. Don’t dream wake up. Our last chance is to be united. Forget the past Obey the present and Pray. How many wars do we need to understand ? how many more martyrs do we need ? One day I hope we will wake up ..But it will be too late cauz all christians would have already quit Lebanon ..

    Shaddow & Paul, I don’t think that at that time FPM had a choice as they where attacked by all parties.
    I am not defending their position. Just trying to be objective and not subjective. Time is not for criticism but for unity.
