What i propose as a way out ..
Posted by N10452Its been five days of violent fights between the Hezbollah and FM & PSP Fighters ..
What started as a “peaceful” demonstration turned out to be a organized “coup” by Hezbollah to topple the government and literally invade their regions ..
Hezbollah controlled Beirut in 2 days time, and forced the government to take back its decisions, however the crisis is still there and i think for the time being, the following solution should make way for dialogue sessions and maybe for a long term solution ..
1- Elect Gen.Sleiman ( even though i still disapprove of him) as president.
2- Form a temporary government of technocrats that will handle the routine work until an official government is formed.
3- Hold dialogue sessions to discuss the new government repartition.
4- Hold dialogue sessions to discuss a defensive strategy for HA. (even though i dissapprove of even considering their weapons as legal).
5- Dismantle all sorts of sitins and demonstrations all over the country ( Down Town, Airport)
Such an approach will unblock the situation and let the government operate normally while the political parties are debating to find a proper way out, that way even if the dialogue lasts months, the country is operation and its people most importantly can live normally and the economy will surely get better.

11. Lebanese | May 12th, 2008 at 1:12 am
they need to stop the fighting first and foremost before anything.
then they should sit down for dialogue.
it isn’t the time to elect a president and all that bullshit. it will be miscalculated if they do that right now.
another option is for sanioura to resign and have the military take over everything until they come to a conclusion of agreement.

13. aytati | May 12th, 2008 at 1:15 am
just called lebanon, psp fighters in Aytat are kicking
ass. with nothing but small arms. our “great” army is handing positions turned over to them to SSNP,commies, and HA fighters. aytaties are refusing to obey jumblat’s orders to surrender. although they are lightly armed. yet they’r giving it their all.
14. Tarek | May 12th, 2008 at 1:17 am
Malwou’ ?
I’m speaking now we should get out and fight HA. But I think sooner or later this confrontation will happen and we better be prepared for it and not rely on the army like others did.

You fail to understand the controlling hand here(syria and iran) to disarm or eliminate HA you have to reach for the roots of this problem(syria and iran) and as some of the comments above suggested, it has to be an outside power Isreal and/or the usa. Us alone will never win against them we dont have the financing, weapons and man power. As far as dialogue goes, i came to understand that those thugs/terrorist don’t understand the words(peaceful solution) so we have to fight that’s the only language they know. I ‘m against wars and hope to avoidit however sometime you have to do what you have to do, we had enough bullshit we’re going backwards. Lebanon can no longer be the playground for other countries to fight their wars, if iran wants to fight the jews, fuck you do it elswhere and if syria and HA wants to fight the jews, fuck you do it in syria and by god leave us the fuck ALONE.
24. Mickel | May 12th, 2008 at 5:29 am
I think there are two reasons why Hezballah won’t go into the Christian areas:
1. The LF now saw what happened in W. Beirut and knows that it has to defend itself, and Hezballah knows that the LFers will fight fiercely and won’t let them take over Achrafiyeh in 48hrs.
2. Eventough the FPM is allied to Hezballah and they would fight on the same side, I don’t think any true Christian FPMer would want to see a Hezballah fighter standing in front of his house in Dekweneh… So the Hezb will not attack Christian areas or else Aoun would lose considerable support among Christians.
25. Ado | May 12th, 2008 at 6:33 am
Well eventhough i oppose fiercely 14 feb allies,i totally agree with you exept for three things:
* i don’t agree with Sleiman being elected as president,i prefer Demianos Kattar,Mikhael Daher or to a certain extent Boutros Harb
* Being ok on a fair and really representing election law
* beginig to cancel religious discrimination
26. the court bozo | May 12th, 2008 at 6:41 am
1) We can oppose/fight HA without weapons, and without being at disadvantage ?
2) **This is not our war.**, First they came for the sunni, but I’m no sunni. Then they come for the druze, but it’s not my war. When they came for me, there’s no one left…. or anyone who could care….
ps - ya Jester, the bozo thing is not towards you… chill out
27. Rodge | May 12th, 2008 at 7:03 am
First of all, replying to the peoposal, there is nothing new in it, 14 March were proposing that for ages now, and if they didn’t get it before the situation changed in the filed, they won’t get it now.
Second, who is saying that HA did not attack the christian areas because of Aoun ya Mr. TheCourtfool, I think Arslan is an ally for HA and he’s Durzi, so how come they attacked Aley and Shouf?? there are mixed areas out there also.
In result, if HA wants to attack the christian areas, he would do it without hesitation, and he has 2 areas to strat it from, he can claim that Shiaas in Jbeil are harrassed by the LF, or he can start his usual attacks against Ain Remmaneh or Hadath

N, i don’t think that there is any point of return!
-HA showed its real face and intentions! They want the whole country!
-General Sleiman definitely lost credits among the March 14 leaders and Lebanese citizens!
- I doubt that Lebanese will go back living all together in harmony after what happened.
- Michel Aoun lost a lot in the last 6 months especially during the latest events, so we should act upon it.
Drastic decisions and changes should take place; i don’t know what we are still waiting for but i’m confident after these events things will no longer be the same, but hopefully to our benefits!

I think even aoun himself realised this time that he fell in a trap with the hezbos

It sems that the Sunnis resistance started to organize itself. look at this:

Of course everything is Israels fault…..even when two kids fight about icecream it´s Israels fault….What is wrong with you???
I don´t say that Israel hasn´t done mistakes but they are not trying to implement laws and dictatorship upon us.
Hizbollah want to make Lebanon an islamic country under the islamic law. That is their aim, and of course to try to wipe Israel out.
If Israel is wiped out then bye bye christians in the middle east.
Nasrallah and especially Aoun should be convicted of treachery and go the same way as Saddam. They are the real traitors of this country…..Aoun should be ashamed of himself……leading the christians to a certain grave if the mo3arada succeeds.
