Hakim was simply great tonight, and even though his speech addresses points which are obvious to most of us LFers, he is the only politician, along with Jumblatt, to talk that deliberatly and freely about all issues and critisize in a constructive way and offer the proper solutions.

Summary of what he said :

- Hezbollah fighters did resist against Israel, but was Lebanon truly the winner ?
- We were against the agreement the government reached since it did not issue vital and complete decisions.
- The army should deploy and Hezbollah must disarm immediatly, there is no point in hiding weapons if you are not gonna use them.
- Hezbollah’s weapons are not a threat for anyone in Lebanon, but their presence is a heavy weight for the country and is inciting foreign powers to get involved here.
- The government should realize any mistake done in the South now will cost us very dearly and hold the government solely responsible.
- Our Youth are leaving because they dont believe in the cause Hezbolah is praising and are endangered here and cant do anything to change, not because they are cowards or cant defend
- Nasrallah should care about Lebanon’s interest, not his own and disarm regardless of the consequences.

I think I can FINALLY say that I agreed and approved of everything Geagea said last night. I felt like I was being represented. I respected the way he addressed all points and discussed them openly instead of just bashing out others.

Well, this goes to proove that Dr. Samir Geagea is still the same guy, despite all the years and all the changes…

I truly beleive that in all the madness that is surrounding the Lebanese in general and the christians in particular, he represents a voice of sanity.

I can only hope that the rest of the Lebanese see him the way we do, and finally understand that it is not by speaking loudly to say nothing, and not by cursing people and making wise jokes, and definitively not by criticising left and right that a person leads his people.

He was not called Hakim (wise man) for nothing :)
