Bashir the Dream
Posted by N10452I was attending the 24th memorial for Bash’s presidency organized by the BG Foundation today.
Event was very well organized and the quotes veryyy well picked.
Its amazing how you can relate all the quotes by Bashir to the problems we are facing now, and how sad that we do not have a strong man like him nowadays to handle those issues firmly like he used to do .
I remember one of his quotes saying :
” I wanna build a Lebanon for the year 2000, not keeping on healing the wounds of the 1943 pact and standing still”
We are in a situation worse than back in 1982, and it is because we are still following the same politicians who are short-sighted and corrupted, yet the people still votes for them.
I dont think we ll ever get a president like Sheikh Bashir, and unless we learn from him how to handle issue, we ll keep regretting him forever and destroy his dream of a strong Lebanon.

N10452…
Hope that we Lebanese realise that Bachir left us with a very solid inheritance and that through short sightedness we are wasting it…
He was murdered because many do not want to see a strong Lebanon. By failing to achieve this strong Lebanon, we are failing to uphold Bachir’s legacy, and doing those who murdered him a favor.
