I posted two days ago about several definitions of terrorism and why is it that Hezbollah is a terrorist party.

It is true that things wont stop at the threshold of definitions and that one must support those definitions with facts to sort of materialize such a labeling.

Firstly i will try to answer lebanon_05’s questions which i believe deserve a lengthy answer. Hezbollah that started as an Islamic Revolution in Lebanon has turned into an Islamic Resistance before getting into politics and has known an impressive evolution throughout the years, however his goal is still the same and his methods are still ones of a terrorist party, with certain improvements.

Back to the questions asked:

Answer to 1#:Let me clarify first that Israel is my ennemy as much as it is Hezbollah’s ennemy, and that i refuse for any foreign country to invade 1 inch of Lebanese soil, and that the LF NEVER collaborated with Israel as they claim, however Syria & Palestine are also ennemies and have harmed us way more than Israelis did, and history and assasinations and testimonies prove me right.

You asked how started ? It is true that Israel had no right in occupying Palestine, however Palestinians fled their country instead of defending it, and honestly Arafat sold the Palestinian Cause since day1 and therefore i blame them for letting Israel get that far, and Israel has become a fact now, and unfortunatelly Palestine will never come back to what it was.

I do not wish to go on the Palestinian issue here, i am more interested in the Lebanese cause, in Lebanon that small country that was attacked first by Palestinians and then by Syrians, and then by Israelis who invaded us to get rid of Palestinian guerillas, and settled in the South to steal our water and create a buffer zone.

Do we have the right to resist ?? It is our sacred right.
Do we have the right to ally with an invador to kick another out out ?? Not at all and this is what Hezbollah did, Hezbollah invaded the South and did not free it, it confiscated the resistance for its own political purposes and exploited the Palestinian Cause to keep its arms while Palestinians were not allowed to use their weapons ..

You cannot fight Israel with a Pro-Syrian Pro-Iranian militia sending suicide bombers, i always believed we could have settled things diplomatically with Israel, but Syria didnt want that to happen and still doesnt.
I truly believe Israel nowadays and since few years does not have any ambition in invading us, it will only weaken its security and it has enough problems, Sharon was building a wall to close the borders and we could have easily signed a peace agreement and put UN troops on the frontiers ..

Lebanon managed to stop the war through its diplomatic ways and NOT through Hezbollah, infact it is cause of Hezbollah that the war wasnt stopped immediatly, because Israel was feeling threatened and the international community supported getting rid of this terrorist group.

You will never be able of fighting Israel militarily and the Arab countries that signed peace with Israel are not complaining at all, so i doubt that diplomacy wont work, but our problem here is that we have ideological parties who cannot even think of dialoguing with Israel, while they are fine with Syrian hegemony and humiliation.

I want Lebanon as a neutral country, neutral from all regional conflicts, protected by the UN.
This is the only way we can prevail, and no other way will work.
When we fought the Syrians and Palestinians for years, we always seeked diplomatic and political solutions, and we dropped our weapons on every occasion we had to settle things on a national level and through politics.

Anyway, if Israel decides to invade us, trust me i will be the first one to resist it, as a Lebanese first and foremost, but i will seek all diplomatic solutions and not go kidnapp two Israeli soldiers.

Anwer to # 2 :
Those crimes are war crimes and must be condemned and judged, but they are different from acts committed by armed groups within a country with a legal government, i already told you Israel should be judged for those actions, but as far as i know, i care first and foremost about the Lebanese Cause. You cannot help a drawning man if you cannot swim.

Answer to # 3 :

War crimes that occured in Lebanon were put behind and i wish it is wiser to move on and not bring back such issues. Those actions are shameful acts in our history and i strongly believe that most parties should apologize for them, unfortunatelly only Dr.Geagea offered a public apology and paid a heavy price ( 11 years of jail) for the war’s mistakes.

In Summary, war crimes cannot be compared to terrorist acts commited in non-war time, There are tribunals to judge war criminals and tribunals to judge terrorist acts. In war, you do not have a state, you do not have a Court, its chaos and therefore you cannot compare, but both acts are terrorist in their nature, however we are talking here about terrorism as a political term for a party.

I hope i answered you.
Regards.

Confusion, contradictions, lack of grasp of political issues, does not even begin to describe your post.

“Hezbollah that started as an Islamic Revolution in Lebanon has turned into an Islamic Resistance”!!!! What does that mean? A revolution against whom? Did they not start resisting the Israelis from day one as different groups and later coalesced into this entity called Hezbollah? It was first and foremost a resistance group and remains so, though, as you say, it later evolved and entered politics.

“Hezbollah invaded the South and did not free it, it confiscated the resistance for its own political purposes and exploited the Palestinian Cause to keep its arms”!!! Ya3ni, 3an jad, is this a real statement? Who are the HA fighters but the very sons and daughters of the Lebanese Southerners? So, they invaded their own towns and villages? And, ya3ni, HA’s ideology is its arms, and not that it uses its weapons to further its political and security goals (which you may agree or not agree with)?

“You cannot fight Israel with a Pro-Syrian Pro-Iranian militia sending suicide bombers”!! But for 18 years they did, and ended up kicking the Israelis out. You can imagine how much begging the US and the UN would have gotten you as far as dislodging Israel from the South were it not for the resistance itself.

“Lebanon managed to stop the war through its diplomatic ways and NOT through Hezbollah, infact it is cause of Hezbollah that the war wasnt stopped immediatly, because Israel was feeling threatened and the international community supported getting rid of this terrorist group” You are out of your depth here, and a poor reader of events. The only reason the war stopped was because after 34 days Israel could not penetrate a couple of miles into Lebanon, losing tens of Merkava tanks, while sustaining the biggest barrage of HA’s rockets on the last day of the war. They stopped because they failed their objectives and were being embarrassed. The UN resolution was the diplomatic cover they needed to save face. And, in your estimation, Israel, the 4th mightiest army on earth, with nuclear weapons et al, feels threatened, while tiny HA, without a tank or a fighter jet, feels superior and is the more menacing of the two? Ya3ni, she bida7ek!

There is too much to contradict and argue against here. I could go on forever.

W ba3d, you still have not been able to answer or convince us under what “terrorism” argument HA fits, and how their actions fit the argument.

I, like you, want a Lebanon that is free from all external influence, but that is a wish, considering the size of our country and our more destructive disunity, that will be far-fetched.

If you do not see HA and the millions who support them as Lebanese, who have a right to resist and understand how and why they evolved into what they are today (including the sins of our own history and our corrupt and inequitable political system), then I see little chance of us ever getting to a place where we can all compromise to save this little and troubled nation.

If you, as you have now, decide to go on a witch-hunt, labeling your own countrymen who suffered and paid with their lives to save their country and their dignity, as terrorists, then we are further apart than we imagine, and this little nation that you bemoan will never survive to see peace and tranquility.

I have been saying this for years to all my friends… Lebanon’s neighbors have invited themselves into our homes not following our rules and creating their own.

I don’t care if you’re from Syria or Israel or the moon, under MY house its MY rules… And this includes Hizballah.

Everyone knows what their “cause” is. It’s to make Lebanon completely muslim, and completely Shiite on top of that.
