In the Memory of Bashir
Posted by N10452I wanted to post about Bash’s history and achievements and his assasination, but i think this has already been done tons of times. I ve read and read about Bash and have posted a lot on his political thought, but this is not what made me believe in Bashir and get attached to this great person even though i wasnt even born when he died.
I didnt know Bashir, but i never was impressed by anyone as much as Bashir, not only because he was so charismatic and patriotic, not only because he never accepted any compromise on Lebanon, not only because he defended Christians and united them !
Bashir had call a passion for Lebanon, for the Christian Cause and that passion is what should be living in us. He was a true passionate and his speeches were so alive. Those speeches that i heard 100 times and on every time, i d still feel the same about Bash and get more attached to his image and thought.
Sheikh Bashir was unique, he got people closer to him without meaning or asking for it. He fought wars that many opposed, he start founding the institutions inside the LF to prepare for joining it to the government.
He was a man of vision and his loss is still affecting us till today.
May he rest in peace.

I like the young man too, he fought a long way to get to where he is and is more experienced and capable than Nadim but again he is not as clean and...

May his soul rest in eternal peace…he came, he saw and he conquered…not only the land, but our hearts as well…we will never forget Bachir the leader, Bachir the president, Bachir the dream.

I have read one article in al Balad Newspaper about the killers of Bachir,I will copy some of its contents .
سقط “البشير” قبل أربعة وعشرين عاما وما زال قاتله حرا في رحاب الكون… المجرم حبيب الشرتوني حرّ وبشير الجميل، رئيس جمهورية لبنان الراحل، مسجون، على الرغم من الأعوام المديدة والآمال المندثرة، في أحلام الناس الذين آمنوا برئيس حكى بصوت عال عن “أحلام الناس”،
مستعملا لغة الحزم والجزم “عادة أحلامي كلها تتحقق”.
في ذكرى رحيل “بشير” الرابعة والعشرين أين هو قاتله حبيب الشرتوني؟ وأين هو بشير في فكر من آمن بنهجه؟ هل ما زال حقيقة حيا في ضمير اللبنانيين؟
الرابع عشر من أيلول عام 1982، ليلة ارتفاع الصليب، حطّ الحقد في الأشرفية وزلزل البلد بانفجار أراد مدبروه القضاء على الحلم بلبنان الدولة القوية. مات بشير وعاش القتلة، طوال عقدين ونيف، في نعيم “الدويلات” و”المزارع”. حكى بشير مرارا وتكرارا عن “مزارع” البلد ونادى كثيرا ببناء دولة لا مزرعة. مات. فأين قاتله؟ أين حبيب الشرتوني، القومي السوري الاجتماعي، الذي اعترف بما فعل وهرب في ليلة لا قمر فيها؟
أتى مثل الحلم ومشى مثل الحلم. بشير الجميل كان حلما جميلا مضى. هكذا هي الأحلام، ما نكاد نفيق حتى تكون انتهت. أربعة وعشرون عاما مضت وبشير حيّ في الكثيرين، والأشرفية التي أحبها، وكانت آخر محطة في عمره، أكدت أنه يستمرّ حيا فيها وحقها في معرفة مصير قتلة بشير سيظل حقا، وهي أعلنت حقها القانوني بهذا على يافطة علقتها في ذكراه الثالثة والعشرين وستكررها اليوم ”
لم يصدق الناس، يوم استشهد بشير الجميل، أنه مات. رأوه يخرج. هتفوا له. نادوه. لوحوا له كثيرا. لم يجبهم. كانت المرة الأولى لا يجيبهم فيها ولا يلوح لهم أكثر مما يلوحون له… لم يردوا أن يعترفوا أنه مات. أرادوا أن يعيشوا في “الحلم”. أرادوا أن يحلموا بالدولة القوية التي حلم هو بها ووعدهم بتحقيقها جازما “أحلامي عادة تتحقق”. ثمة من خاف من حلم بشير ومن الدولة القوية وهناك من لا يزال يخاف، بعد أربعة وعشرين عاما، منها!!
