  Hi N,
  What I can say (without being involved in it personally, as my military position in reserves is not relevant here), is that this is only a drill meant to train forces and check how ready is the army. This is not an attempt to wage war as far as I know.

  It is a civil defense drill, training the emergency factors, not the combatant units.

  I think comments are welcomed from anyone as long as it is polite and with no insults!

  Israel can’t wait to start a war with Hizballah but this time (learning from its mistakes) will not destroy the Lebanese infrastructure. The Hizballah’s followers (mainly Shiite) will have no place to go except Syria. If you recall, in Summer 2006 they were hosted even in churchs, but this time Syria is the only place for them.

  Also, Israel made it clear that if it was hit, Syria will pay some price! As usual, in a war, you know when you start one but you can’t control when it will end! If Hizballah’s followers want to be beside Khomeini and his dead mullahs, Israel will assist them in a speedy transfer and to fulfill their dreams!!!

  Normally i oppose war however if it’s going to happen i hope they(israel) is ready and prepared and i also hope that this time they finish the job with hassan’s head on a platter and hope they expand the war to syria as well, let those asshole know how it feel to have their country destroyed and their children die.

  I understand it is a drill only, however signs of an upcoming war are all over the place, from the Finograd report, to race to arment from both sides, to the ex UNIFIL chief in command who said its inevitable ..

  Israel has been training since past July to improve its defenses and offenses to counter the terrorist attacks ..

  You lfers can dream, the fact is that even when the israeli army outnumbered hizballah 10 to 1, even when every israeli soldier had a 100 planes flying over him, even when israel’s technology was decades ahead of hizballah’s, the israeli army was stopped from advancing.
  So imagine hizballah having anti-air missiles now, imagine if the israeli bombers coudn’t level a whole village if a hizballah fighter was identified in it, imagine if they couldn’t call an airstrike every minute, imagine if attack helicopters and MKs wouldn’t block out the sun, hizballah would be able to move freely above ground, they would attack whenever they wanted and anywhere they wanted, they would be able to attack and advance instead of just holding on to their positions with hit and hide tactics.
  And anyone who says that hizballah was using human shields is an idiot because if it were true then then the shia would have stopped supporting hizballah. Israel targeted the infrastructure and civilians so that ignorant people like lfers who blame hizballah for everything would start a civil war with the shia and do the job for the israelis.

  I just received this forward e-mail which is circulating around, and includes a theory about a war plan in the region. It is in French, so I hope everybody will understand, and sorry for those who are only English educated, and I apologize for it is long, but interesting to read:

  Le complot est planifié principalement par l’Amérique et Israël. Déroulement de la phase finale. L’intervention israélienne se fera:
  1- Par un débarquement israélien sur tout le littoral Libanais.
  2- Une percée au sud en direction de la Békaa.

  4- Par une percée au Golan en direction de l’intérieur de la Syrie.

  7- Le Liban ayant perdu le sud du Litani et les régions musulmanes du Nord, prendra une région chrétienne appelée wadi el Nassara située en Syrie,

  au nord de Akkar, qui sera reliée au Mt Liban par le couloir du village chrétien de Kobeyate.

  Ainsi Israël, aurait réalisé ses ambitions relatives à l’utilisation des cours du Litani, et à des frontières sures avec des pays en qui il a confiance

  (pays chrétiens pays druzes). Que donneront les pourparlers et les discussions?

  Il faudra attendre quelques mois pour arriver à une solution finale, en ce qui conçerne notamment les frontières exactes de ces Etats confessionnels.
  Ces petits états sont-ils viables? Les pays ainsi pourront se compléter économiquement,

  en plus les traités financiers et économiques seront signés à l’exemple du marché commun.

  Les minoritaires restant dans ces Etats confessionnels, auront le choix soit de rester,

  soit de retourner à L’Etat de leur communauté qui leur donnera la naturalisation.

  Tous les responsables étrangers arabes et libanais sont d’accord ou du moins marchent dans la combine,

  chacun montre qu’il est en train de subir les conséquences….

  Listen Libanon, you little insignificant dirty rat (and of course i apologize to the rat), the ones who went through this during the war are both christians and shiites, and some of them had the courage to talk about it the international media. Of course Lebanon couldn’t mention it. As for the rest who lost parts of their families were happy about it “Fida el Sayyed!”

  In fact i’m not convinced at all that this plan could be real for many reasons, but for once i wanted to see what the Stupid Aounists will have to say and how will they react, of course with the HA people who will start to say that the resistance and Iran will teach lessons etc…
