What Happened @ Nahr El Kalb
Posted by N10452I was there and saw what happened and the clash became inevitable because of the army and no one else !
FPMers blocked the roads since 5 am or even earlier, by parking their cars in the middle of the road and forming a human chain on both sides of the highway.
There were few army men deployed capable of forcing the demonstrators to leave the spot and clear the roads ( check pic below).
Instead of doing that, the army men kept standing doing nothing for more than 2 hours before LFers started regrouping and yelling at the demonstrators to clear the road.
The army kept doing nothing and the LFers and other 14th of march followers started regrouping and became more numerous than the FPmers. That was around 9:20
The Army commandos came in large numbers after things started to get serious.
The LFers drew back and let the army handle the situation hoping they will open the roads, but instead the army was negociating and doing phone calls and just wasting time, tensions were starting to rise between the two sides and then a large LF convoy came headed by a jeep ( as you see in the picture below) and tried to open the parallel road above the highway which was blocked by an FPM car, so the LFers tried to bang the car and remove it and both sides clashed which made the Army interfer to stop them.
The clash lasted few minutes before the army started shooting in the air to disperse both teams and then had the FPM car removed and after almost half an hour another clash occured which forced the FPMers to withdraw to the other side of the highway, and the roads were opened then from both sides and FPMers cornered by the army.
Roads were cleared around 10:20 by LFers rather than the army.
Here are other pics of the fights.

I live outside canada (I wasn’t born in lebanon unfornately) and I fallow the politics. I would like to add a comment about Aoun : I read about him and I think he`s a american dog. His last visit to america changed in a dramatic way his political strategy. Just read or look at the events after his visit and you will see.

What a shame! Can someone from the leaders think about our kids and what they’re going through! I can’t wait until Iran & Syria got blown away.
