The American Embassy announced earlier today that it has been continuously working on moving Iraqi refugees staying in Lebanon to the United States of American during the July month.
670 immigration applications were accepted already and an additional 12000 should be accepted within the months to come.

Iraqis were being treated very badly in Lebanon and were not receiving any help from the Lebanese authorities.
Let us hope Arab countries will get jealous from the USA and take few tens of thousands of Palestinians each ..

Many Lebanese would find it a pity that they are not Iraqis.

  • 2. lebanonhsh | August 12th, 2008 at 10:36 pm

maybe they shouldn’t have caused their fleeing out of their country…they have promissed him democracy, their fate was even worse than before

Lebanon does not have the ressources to help every single refugee that comes within its borders…heck the frickin government can’t even take care of its own…the economy is in shambles and trying to dole out a handout is very difficult. Has the US provided economic assistance to these people? well, maybe they’re better off in the US.

The bottom line is clear .The United States can and should do much more to meet the needs of the 4 million Iraqis who have fled their homes. In worst cases,They should at least provide them with shultters, schools and food. Anything less would indeed be a shame on top of a humiliation.

I live in Michigan where most of these Iraqi refugees live. And beleive me it’s not a fair life style for those Iraqi professionals who move here and have to take jobs as taxi drivers and hotel cleaners bcoz they do not speak the language well or they were not able to transfer their degrees. I am only a medical student working at a local hospital ”training” when at the same time bossing an Iraqi physician ( he is way smarter than me ) bcoz HE COULDNT TRANSFER HIS credibility :( so sad !

This whole refugee settlement is a joke. There is no place better than home .

I feel sorry for Iraqis…They had to suffer from Saddam’s cruelty and then they had to suffer from terrorism at its highest level between kaadeha and shiaa groups supported by Iran and Syria…They are like us the victims of the struggle for powers.
The presence of US and British coalition in Iraq caused all that because Iran and Syria(behind teh scene Russia) did their best to make the USA mission (whether for oil or democracy)impossible and move the American and British public against Bush and Blair. They won partially ….I admit it.But the democratization of Iraq threatens authoritative regimes like Iran and Syria teh most and not desirable…The USA did not kill Iraqis but unfortunately terrorism killed them…terrorism in all its forms is the weapon of the 21st century because if it proves useful in Iraq it will be a bad precedent to follow…(hamas/HA)

    rima
for ur information, shiaa militias in iraq are supported by usa .
can u solve this puzzle: usa in lebanon supports sunnis against shiaas , and in iraq it supports shiaas against sunnies.

  • 10. Rima | August 13th, 2008 at 6:30 am

for ur information there are two groups of shiaa…the proUSA shiaa have suffered a lot from Saddam…the USA was always on their side and avenged them for the chemical genocide in Halabja…nevertheless, Iran has power over another group and stir them against both pro-shiaa and innocent sunnis in order to weaken the USA…In the end, muslims are killing muslims…no a great thing…
In Lebanon, HA are a very powerful tool for their quest for hegemony and a place at the table of superpower…she will get it…I think

for sure for oil not democracy

  • 13. Rima | August 13th, 2008 at 8:46 am

Not necessarily oil…democratization, after the so called collapse of the soviet union, became a diplomatic tool and a prerequisite for the USA administration…they think democracy is the driving force for economy and therefore reduces the trend towards terrorism…

  • 14. Rima | August 13th, 2008 at 9:18 am

Arze said in #34 is is Lebanon or Iraq?
“we should nuke Tripoli once and for all : )”
Arze are you moukhabarat sourieh…don’t tell me coincidence…eh shame on you and on your miaalminnik …Tfeh ala heik chaab khayen…..

  • 15. Silvana | August 13th, 2008 at 9:42 am

Well the USA committed a big blunder in Iraq, the least it can do is to shelter these people. Lebanon fi li bikafi already.

    Rima,

Arze was just trying to be witty and ended up sounding stupid and ignorant as usual. May everyone that died in today’s explosion in Tripoli R.I.P

  • 16. Mickel | August 13th, 2008 at 10:29 am

A few days ago, Arze says that Tripoli should be nuked. Today, a bomb goes off in Tripoli.

    Hmmmm :D

  • 17. Rodge | August 13th, 2008 at 10:31 am

So now the target is Tripoli,
but the victimes are still the same, Lebanese people and some of the LA members who are serving their country with faith and loyalty.

Haram Lebanon, when we’ll see light??
I think we will when all our politicians became “Hussein Husseini”, or at least do the same.
We need Politicians like this man, despite the fact that I don’t always agree with him, but I respect his personnality, at least he’s a patriot, he’s someone who never accepted to compromise when Lebanon’s sake is at stake.

Most of our politicians in responsibility, maybe all of them, whether Political or Military, should resign because they are helpless and they failed, or maybe they can get immigration to the US and leave us alone.

    Hi

All of you have forgotten a very important point :
ALL or MOST of these accepted are CHRISTIANS…and thus the PLAN in EMPTYING the ME from its NATIVES OWNERS CHRISTIANS continues …

BUSH ( and his MASTERS … ) has chosen IRAK to be the battle field between his forces and al KAEDA ( al KAEDA is an ORG established by the USA in the AFGHAN war to battle the russians .. and also taliban) without asking the permission of the NATIVES or even the other iraqiies if they accept or not .

    the result :

2 million s dead , 4 million and a half of refugies . and total control of the CRUDE OIL ., the ACTUAL split of irak into 3 regions , the ELIMINATIOn of the christians from their LANDS and later on you will have a ARABIC KURDISH war ………..
In ORDER to fight AL KAEDA , the USA should had attacked SAUDI ARABIA instead..but of course u have the oil crude supllies…

what kind of CREATURES are these AMERICANs……they are the GENUINE CHILDREN of SATAN..

    regards
