The “Poisonous” balloons story ..

I read the article in Naharnet yesterday and honestly found it a bit ackward that Israel would drop 8 balloons to poison people, but again this is Israel and it has done much worse stuff during the war and in the previous years, so i expected anything even though sending poisoned balloons seems stupid, but anyway it turns out our Lebanese media didnt do their job properly.

From Haaretz:
An Israeli promotional campaign involving balloons caused panic among Lebanese civilians Saturday when the wind carried them over the border into southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese media reported that some civilians were hospitalized after inhaling the gas in the balloons.

However, the photographs published on the Web site of Hezbollah’s TV station Al-Manar show green balloons from a promotional campaign for Ha’ir, a Schocken group newspaper.

I will believe the Haaretz version to be honest.

    I read the Naharnet story too. Did not make any sense and Nahar did not even bother to give background or comment by anyone knowlegeable. Horrible journalism by our “best” paper.

    Add to that the fact that ManarTV reported that the words on the balloons is the Hebrew word for “caution” (Haza’er).

    Arutz Sheva reported Sunday that ManarTV mis-read the name of the newspaper (which is Ha’ir) as Haza’er (caution). Just goes to show how propaganda is being used to fuel the flames of hate.

    Ha’ir (the city, in Hebrew) is a Tel Aviv local newspaper, that usually was distributed for free.
    Last week they changed the concept, and now it cost 5 Shekels. They launched a campaign to promote the move.
