Not much info was given on this terrorist cell, i just hope those arrested werent given away to shed the light on the real terrorists.

Naharnet

The Lebanese army said troops have arrested members of a terrorist group allegedly involved in recent bombings in northern Lebanon.
Sunday’s statement said several people from a “terrorist cell” were arrested for their involvement in the Aug. 13 and Sept. 29 bombings in the port city of Tripoli.
The statement did not give further details. But a security official speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the press said three Palestinians were among those arrested.

The statement said an explosives belt in their possession was confiscated. It said troops were still pursuing Abdel-Ghani Jawhar, a leading member of the cell.

    N,

We all hope those arrested werent given away to shed the light on the real terrorists as you’ve said, and to ensure that, credible information should be given, and the people behind these acts should be disclosed, not only those who have executed them.
I’m afraid in this regard to blame it on Fateh Islam and stop there, I mean without telling us who created this organization for real, who’s supporting them and what are their purposes, in addition to all the facts, and why not video taped confessions

This army is controlled by Syria and HA, don’t expect much from it. In fact they will be covering things not showing them.

I’ll tell you who creating them and is (secretely) supporting them: your dear ally tayyar el moustaqbal…
Between the old fart (that’s for you Rodge) kissing iran’s feet, the bald (ex)murderer / current saint kissing hariri’s feet and the senile taking a (spiritual?) retreat in rome, I really feel very optimistic about the christian’s future in this country… shi bi jannin.
aoun, geagea and sfeir will go down in history as the main cause for the christians’ decline… Al Qaeda appeared in lebanon on their watch…

PS: on a more positive note…dory chamoun resigned from deir el qamar’s municipality in order to run for the next elections… rejoice christians… WE ARE SAVED !!!

    Ja3far bek shi khayeh??
Ntibih ysorlak shi. So why are u saying that? did anyone say it isn’t Syria, are u sure that Fateh Islam or whatever is not related to Syria??

    Mr. Anonymous,

Are u sure it is supported by my ally Future movement as u said and not by Syria or another party???

For your Information, I’m an LF supporter and I care a less about Future, Jumblatt or others, but I see facts not hear accusations, so stop ur nonsense ya aflaton zaminak.

And again, we should all respect the Patriarch and i’m not defending anyone else, it is not right to accuse him of many things, u can criticize him but never disrespect him, at least for what he represents.

    Mr. Rodge,

It is known for a fact that FM in one way or the other is closely tied to all the salafist/jihadist scene..whether you like or not. I stand by every word I say…the biggest threat to the christians is FM and hariri. These guys are dangerous and should be fought like the plague. Don’t be fooled by the fact that they wear ties and look civilized. they are at least as dangerous as hezbollah.

What are these facts you are referring to ?? Nawwerne ya Aristotle zamenak… The facts as I see them are as follows: FM desperately wants to counter the rise of the shia community and since the sunni community has traditionally been too much of a coward to defend itself (we can discuss this later if you want and I’ll support every claim with specific examples)they (FM) had to seek the help of these wackos… and now we’re living the consequences.

As for the patriarch… I’ll respect him when he’ll be worthy of any respect. For the moment he isn’t and in view of his age, I don’t think he ever will be… law badda tshatté kenit ghayyamit

    Aflaton Anonymous,

Facts show that Syria was behind most of the troubles occured in Lebanon in the past 30 years or so, while the Palestinians and Israel took care of the rest.
I know that Syria is far from Sunnis extremists because of the Alawite Regime, but till now there is no proof that these terrorists or Fateh Islam are related to Al Qaeda or any Sunnis extremists, on the contrary many of them were and maybe they are related to Syria.
I said numerous times that extremists are working everywhere in the world under a certain system, they are launching suicide attacks except in Lebanon.
They announce the responsibility for all their attacks except in Lebanon.
They don’t attack Shias in Lebanon, while they are doing it elsewhere.
this proves that they are not the same people, neither coming from the same backgrounds.
Also what is the benefit of Future movement from attacking the army and killing Sunnis soldiers from Akkar??
Also their operations, if they are trully the executors, are similar to the ones occured after 2005 in many Christian areas in addition to the assassinations.

Now for all, have a very good night.

Any idea why N10452 ?? They are not even under moderation!!

Something cannot be beaten with nothing. The battle against what so called terror must be guided by vision plan on how to isolate between terrorists and civilians. This can only be done through MOUKHABARAT (ya3ne fawet ness minon w fiyon) in other words , we should use the same system Israel uses agaisnt hammas and fata7 (i.e AL MUSTA3RIBIN GANG).

Ja3far just something I learned based on your advice of readin history:
History of Lebanon has proved that any Lebanese faction only respects their outside alliances and never their internal ones. Basically you ally and fight with whoever that who is funding you tells you to. (Please don’t let me give example just read the civil war history) So please stop this massihiye 3ala rasna crap, you might believe so today, but that does not mean it will be that tomorrrow. It will be as your leadership decides, as decided by those that give them money, period. Same apppied on both sides M14 and M8 (Just bieng a good student and applying your history lessons my friend)
Second point is the fact that we both are right and wrong at the same time. I see you and you see me but we each can’t see ourselves. This mentatlity is what governs our debates on this blog which makes us right about each other thus wrong about ourselves.
Yes FM are right wing sunnis and get their money from Saudi, just like Hizb is right wing Shia and get their money from Iran. FM causes the country to be terrorized through their strategy every now and then because of that, just like you guys burn down half the country every now and then. If we do the math of how many people have been killed due to Hizb or due to the Sunni extremists after 1990 and how much money was lost, I think you guys are the clear winners by a long margin too. I am not argueing nawaya, just examining results. I would much rather deal with a little extremists here and there vs having to rebuild my capital every couple of years (with Iranian money).
How much pain have we caused the country since the end of the war? How many houses have we burnt and families distroyed because of our actions? none. We have been crucified by everyone and had to leave so that you can post Nasrallah pics and declare devine victory. the only Lebanon you want is the one empty of Lebanese, the one empty of any thinkers, scientists, and people willing to move the country forward. The Lebanon you want is a burnt slot of land and you just need a buffoon like aoun to back you up. Why? because you know his weakness, all the man wants is some recognition and will bend over backwards for you and you gave him that in spades. I don’t pity Lebanon, I pity the Lebanese.

    Just a simple question:

Why is the army after the whole organization of this “terrorist cell” and now they are hunting for its leader.

But when Hizbulla killed the officer last month, no one was caught from Hizbulla and Nasrallah wasn’t brought for investigation ????

What if this cell is actually killing the soldiers ” BY MISTAKE “, can’t they surrender one member only ???

tayeb, i want you to think about two points .. seriously.. if the HA was planning to shoot the helicopter, would they do it through Sam 7 missile or through personal machine gun that cannot harm the plane?..
second when the helicopter went down, why didnt they shoot the other soldiers in the plane and burn it to cover the incident?the message would have been received by the army any way ..
if you really use your mind the answer will be clear for you…a member of the resistance saw the plane, he was taken by surprise and shot at it.. doors were open a bullet hitted the oficer… very sad accident..bass hayda hajmou
they didnt use neither heavy anti aircaft artilery nor missiles… any man with little military experience will tell you..,
and if the army doupted for 1 % that this was done on purpose things would have changed…
halae i know you that for you HA are the ultimate evil power on earth.. i know that several parties including the LF would love to use such an accident for political benefits ( which is sad by the way) bass if you really want to know the truth sorry to disapoint you on this particular accident…

    All

I would love to beleive comentary writer RODGE (my buddy) that extremists are not the same nor have the same agenda. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Sadly, after hearing certain M 14 leaders telling the same lies time and time again, and after witnessing their recent political failure, I have to disagree with rodge that terrorist are not one kind , or to make it sound better terrorist only come from syria!! These terrorists have the same agenda and all of them belong to the same school. It is clear that rodge doesnt know much about them ….

The lebanese battle only for the right to live. Lebanon has displayed integrity and honor fighting terrorism in naher al berid. Many countries around us were schocked by the facts that we were able to overcome the july/naher al berid war. They wished us failure and the media is there to prove my words. It is sad to hear ppl like rodge and others speacking the way they do.

At last, try turning off the television and read about wahabism ya rodge and then you’ll know exactly whay i mean. It’s worth the effort ya sadiki.

    thx

Ja3far & z gang, could u explain to us why Hezbies was threatening the helicopter if they ever come close they’ll shoot them or haven’t u read all the facts????

  • 43. Fuziyad | October 15th, 2008 at 11:37 am

Ja3far, I am someone who doubt everything and doesn’t easily jump to conclusions but in this case it’s very obvious to em and there is not much room for doubts. The helicopter was shot on purpose and it was signed, hizbis like to sign this kind of acts as the whole puprose is intimidation and anyway they know that public opinion won’t judge them, I mean those who still support them after all what they did last years will still support them even if wafic safa raped their mum…

Let me tell you one story your call to believe it or not but I guess you’re clever enough to know it’s trur. When the bayen wizaré was being discussed and the issue of hezb weapons debated in that context after a few days, one evening one opposition guy went to visit one m14 MP in tripoli and told him “yr friends in beirut are trying to play it too clever with hezb weapons, they should stop now, what will happen tonight is just a first taste of what we can do”, that night was the most violent between bab el tabbaneh and jabal mohsen and over 10 people died…next day the bayen wizaré got through in its present form…

Same for political assasinations everyone knew who was behind it and m8 wasn’t shy about it the threats were direct and explicit, anyway as you now most m14 have much much less security measures now, this tends to show how much they are sure of who the killer was…I doubt they would be playing with their lives if they really thought it was al qaida, israiiil or amrikaaaa killing…

Anyway I wonder what am trying to convince you of, don’t tell me also that hezb wasn’t behind, march 8, 12 july and 7 may????

I thank you for giving me that precious time and always remember me, it seems you miss me a lot.
Anyway, I asure you that we miss your comments on this blog.

    Ya Ali,

Why should we always disagree on that point, eventough no one has a proof, all i’m offering is my idea, based on many facts and readings and follow up and experiences i had, while u have ur own idea also, and i respect that, but I think that it is based on learning this for the news and some reports and maybe readings you’ve seen.

So, I don’t know why u’re talking as someone who is sure and have all the facts. Well no one has it my friend.

I have my own analysis and u have urs, time will prove who is right and who’s wrong, or let me see who is closer to the truth.

I just want to show you a case, who u believe killed Rafic Hariri?

    Extremists Islamists??
    Syrians??
    Americans??
    Israelis??
    A Lebanese security institution??
    Saudi Arabia??
    Egypt??
    Jordan??

Please i want a honest answer of what you really think.

But to remind, the Syrian - Lebanese security system tried to blame it on Adas the Palestinian guy, while they wanted to convince everyone that he’s an extremist etc…

    Elie

    Thank you sadiki.

    Rodge

The only way to get our msg accros is to clean our media in good way. Dont ask me how cuz I dont know ! It is the media where you and I are spending a lot of time reading and analysing. I am struck by the continued negative tactics and lies on our TV stations w kell wa7ad mfakar 7alo houwe fahmen.

Second , I am not alwyas sure and I dont have all the facts, but you must admit that alot of my IDIOTIC COMMENTS( you guys called it idiotic) became FACTS . On the other hand, alot of yours ya rodge end up in the ocean (3mol mni7 w keb bil ba7er).. so my suggestion is this : Put partisan politics on the side and WORK ON THE ACCEPTANCE OF OTHERS (others ya3ne HA and Tayyar), you guys need to do that and trust me ya RODGE , you’ll be surprised by the fact of what kind of good people we are.

third, who killed rafic al hariri ??! The facts about who was behind the attack are scarce and unclear! So we are left with not whole a lot more on which to judge syria or any other nation. And as we enter the third year of investigation , things still not clear to us . 2ino do you really think bada 3 yrs to come up with a conclusion ?? I (personly) know how we got here, and it is clear both nations (syria-usa/israel) played a big role in killing hariri but I cant explain it any further ya rodge , remember I live in america and you know very well that I am being monitored ( phone/email). So I am sorry rodge w fehmak kfeye. AL MA7KAME MA RA7 TUSSAL LA MATRA7 WEL AYEM BEYNETNA YA RODGE, ZAKIRNE LA ZAKRAK ;)

At last, You must be the change you wish to see in lebanon :D , allah yi7mik habibi ,hayde min khayak alush , azghar minak bi 2o yrs at least ;)

    Good post !

  • 51. Rodge | October 16th, 2008 at 8:42 am

    Doc,

Lately u said that u came back to Lebanon, but now I understand from you that u’re still in the US.

Anyway, wherever you are in this world, I wish you good lucj and safety, and believe me I’ll be so sad and angry if the American authorities hurt you in any kind.
We can think differently, we can debate as long as we have some logic of our own in our minds, but we are still both Lebanese, and as I already said to you, I have many good friends Shiaas, among them 2 Alis, so I accept others more than you can imagine, but in return I have my ideas and convictions, and others have their own, we should all respect each others, and I think this blog is the right place for that.
