Hezbollah wants to unleash the gates of hell on Sanioura and Mufti Qabbani made it clear tonight Hezbollah crossed the line and the Sunnites will not stay silent !
This is turning into an ugly Shiite-Sunnite conflict that hopefully will not degenerate.
Sunnites are already starting to close roads tonight and tomorrow will be a heated day.
I was hoping for Hakim to go meet Aoun despite all differences and agree that there will be no Christian interference in this fight whatsoever … Aoun already was smart enough ( or most probably chickened out) and did not participate in today’s demo ..
Here are few excerpts from Qabbani’s speech few minutes ago:
8:51 Qabbani called on Hizbullah leaders to pull their armed men out of Beirut’s streets and its central district.
8:50 Lebanese Sunna are fed up with Hizbullah practices, Grand Mufti Qabbani said
8:48 Hizbullah is trying to overpower Lebanon, Qabbani added
8:47 Qabbani warned Hizbullah against attacking the Lebanese civilians and hegemony over the Lebanese state and governmental institutions
8:46 Hizbullah has become an armed force aims at occupying Beirut , Qabbani said

It might appear that it is a Shiite Sunni conflict, while in fact it is a terrorist fundamentalist irani syrian and israeli war against the birth of a modernized peaceful country.
The truth is that Hizballah complements Israel in ruining Lebanon

Mufti Qabanni and supporters spark controvesry.
* Why lebanese sunna not lebanese in general ?
* Why HA armed men not FM-PSP armed thugs who got their as# kicked anyway?
* Why playing with fire from place one?
I (as a lebanese first and shiaa second) am fed with tayyar al mustaqbal taking control of beirut since 1992. Qabbani and Geagea must have created a new definitions for Hezballah, BAY BAYA and Lebanon. Gimme a break now and pull your chicken fighters out of the street.
At last, keeping the country safe from dangerous criminals(FM) and violent felons(PSP) is an essential for us. It is our right to protect ourselves when it comes to street fighting. We have been on the defensive for a long time. Enough is enough.
PS: Best offense is a counter attack.

More
Why is he turning the battle into a sectarian one?
Why is he labeling the lebanese sunnis as FMers?
Is he talking on the behalf of all sunnis ?
Qabanni, You will never get the war you wanted. You will never win the dirty-dirty sunni-chiaa war… KSA will not be there for you.

i say let shiite and sunnis fight and lets watch them and see who wins so we can join them ?! ?! ?! ?! ?! ?!
I really don’t understand some of the posts anymore.

fad14,
sorry bro but truth hurts …
look at what’s happening .. both christian sides are not in the game … only sunni’s and shiaa’s again … and they brought us back to the days of imamou ali and 3omar bin al-khattab ….
I find no place for christians among such barbaric acts … and I condem every christian who will hold a gun during this battle that is not ours … so far the christians are playing a very responsible role from both sides and I pray it stays like this … w khalli fokkhar ykasser ba3do …
13. Rodge | May 8th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Johnny,
I can agree with some of what you said, but on the other hand I agree with Fad14 also.
U’re right when you said the truth is that the Sunnis and Shiites are fighting, and we Christians are aside, but believe me, eventhough it is a sectarian conflict by appearance and facts, but still Politics have a lot to do here, since the main differences between both parties are Political, and it is the same we have among our Christian community with the presence of 2 parties, the majority with 14 March while the minority who is degrading is pro 8 March.
Yes until now nothing happened in the Christian areas, and you know why? it’s because the Aounists are not capable of doing anything and they know they are weak. Even a year ago, when they were still stronger than they are now, they failed to do anything, that’s why they are waiting to see what will happen.
And just a reminder, Sleiman Frangieh, who is a christian unfortunately, has warned yesterday that things will be more tense today and in the coming days, so I expect to see somthing, of course it will not eb any similar to what HA are doing, but things will turn to chaos mainly after Hassaouna speech today.
Again, yes the conflict is sectarian, but mainly it is political in nthe first place
Allah Yistour

Rodge,
I think the best policy to deal with sleiman franjieh is to let him do whatever he wants … dont resist him, and he will wake up to the harm he is doing … bass bistab3ed ya3mol chi …
15. Fuziyad | May 8th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Johnny.B…. The Iranians NEED to drag the christians in the conflict as soon as possible for image purposes…if suleiman or claoun ma bi labbo than hezbos will start provoking. When they attack raise yr whit flag and tell them you are a nice christian and not a sunni may be they will leave you…but don’t tell them you’re not a fan of islamic banana republics or of Baasi regimes, they may bite you otherwise…
16. Rodge | May 8th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Fuziyad,
U’re right, and they started already since yesterday. They came as close as they could to Ain Remmaneh and started to curse the Christians, while they burned an LF flag.
The Army placed many soldiers on the border between both areas, or else massacres would have happened there, because the guys in Ain Remmaneh were and are ready for them, and believe me they are thurst for blood, and sorry for that, maybe Hassouna has its impact on me, since he said he is ready to cut his father’s hand if he tried to touch the communications system.
