طائرة كانت تقل بعثة منتخب كرة السلة اللبنانية للرجال إلى الدوحة، حطّت في عمان بعد محاولة لخطفها، وقد أسهم اللاعبون اللبنانيون، ولاسيما منهم النجم فادي الخطيب، في إحباط هذه المحاولة وأفاد مساعد المدرب جورج كلزي أن الخاطف ذو ملامح عربية

It was a fight between a hostess and a 21 years old guy from Erithrea.
ان الرجل الاريتري (21 عاما) كان يحمل صندوقا يحتوي على مادة غير معروفة مما استدعى عودة الطيار بالطائرة الى مطار عمان مباشرة بعد الحادث.
وكان شاهد عيان وهو احد الركاب قد قال لتلفزيون الجزيرة عبر الهاتف انه عقب اقلاع الطائرة تحرك أحد الركاب باتجاه قمرة القيادة وضرب أحد المضيفين في الرحلة عندما وقف في طريقه.
غير أنه قال انها ربما لم تكن محاولة خطف.
وأضاف أن الرجل احتجز وأن الطائرة عادت الى العاصمة الاردنية عمان بعد دقائق من اقلاعها
