After denying any involvment in the first day and causing major confusion in the Syrian ranks, Israeli papers & authorities have been hinting that they killed Moghnieh since yesterday. I had a doubt and still do that Syrian authorities might have a hand in his assassination, as posted earlier, but it seems like the Syrians are shocked that they were hit inside Syria and few meters away from their own intelligence post.
First of all, Olmert extends Mossad chief’s tenure till 2009. The timing of this move is quite suspicious. I always wondered how one can get a raise or renew his contract in the intelligence business LOL.
Here is a list of his ‘achievements’ in the past years :
December 2002 Ramzi Nahara, Israeli agent who defected to Hezbollah and planned attacks against Israel. Dagan knew him personally. Killed in Lebanon by car bomb
March 2003 Abu Mohammed Al-Masri, Al-Qaeda member building cell to target Israeli border with Lebanon. Killed by car bomb in Lebanon
August 2003 Ali Hussein Saleh, Hezbollah explosives expert. Killed by car bomb in Beirut
July 2004 Ghaleb Awali, Hezbollah official with links to activists in Gaza Strip. Killed by car bomb in Beirut
September 2004 Izz el-Deen al-Sheikh Khalil, Hamas official liaising between headquarters in Syria and members in Gaza and West Bank. Killed by car bomb in Damascus
May 2006 Mahmoud Majzoub, Islamic Jihad official liaising with Hezbollah. Killed by car bomb blast in Lebanon
Second, Israeli papers reveal that arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyeh was cooperating with the Syrians in planning an attack against Israeli targets to avenge an Israel Air Force strike on a Syrian site in September 2007, according to “informed Israeli sources” quoted by the British Sunday Times on Sunday.
So they create the confusion, hint that they did it, and come up with a justification saying that the man was preparing some operation against them. Added to that, they weakened Hezbollah and shook the Iranian-Syrian relations.
What can i say ?
A chef d’oeuvre.

Israel does not deny work it has done! It stays salient and later will admit it.
So far, Israel is denying that it killed Mughanieh althogh it is happy that it was done!

I’m starting to think that it was a “work accident” as described in a Kuwaiti newspaper. That would explain many things: why it happened in the heart of Damascus, hard by an Iranian-Syrian terror training center, and why Muggie was the only one killed.

well good that he was killed cuz he a an international terrorist and doesnt have to do with defending lebanon from israel…he is a terrorist bi kell ma3na l kelmet and we r very glad that he was killed…if he really was..

There have been an analysis suggesting that he died in an accident or a normal death and then it was framed as an assassination for other purposes. Well we can’t be sure for anything but if he is really dead it is great news. From the types off attacks he made, he may be involved in the assassinations of rafic hariri. Some said that they terminated him (if he was terminated) for his involvement in hariri’s assassination. It’s all hypothesis.

Beware! Now that Muggie is dead, it will be convenient for others with blood on their hands to blame him for their deeds, in the hope they can thus wash themselves clean. If you really want to be sure about who killed Hariri, I think you’ll still need the tribunal.

your missing one year in the analysis
you go through 2002, 03, 04, and 06.
oh yeah, they killed hariri in 05.

Ali Reza Asghari defection.
I suggest the website below to better understand the fallout of this defection, witch occurred in February 2007.
1-The successful strike on Syria in September 6, 2007.
2-The enhancement of operations in Iraq after this defection.
3-The last assassination witch you are analyzing.

N10452,
You know too much. Are you a Mosad agent?
Anyway, no one claimed responsibility.
I hope the next on your knowledgeable hit-list
are H. Mish’al and dear Sayed.

habib: you are very smart.
Israel kills hariri and then syria hides the evidence, what a genius you are.
11. monkey | February 17th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
Well…there is no proof really that they did this assassination. Perhaps the source is Syrian, and trying to frame Isarel cause they are to embarrased to show that Nasrallah ordered it. The guy had many enemies, and all of them had more access to Imad than israel would ever had.
So far people are just speculating. Plus, Israel has more to lose from this. This gives Hezb an excse to carry out the attacks that Imad has engineered. If anything they should have nailed him a decade ago.

17. Patriot | February 18th, 2008 at 11:56 am
so why won’t u accept a possible scenario of Israel doing some of 14MARCh assassinations to deepen the internal conflict and point the fingers more and more to HA and the syrian…and guys just refresh your memories and don’t forget that Israel did invade our country numerous times and killed southlands of Lebanese…we maybe fleeing an extreme (HA) and ending up with another extreme. .. we need to find a way to isolate our country from these regional conflicts…
18. monkey | February 18th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Patriot you make so excellent points, but I dont think there is any place to compare Israel to Hezbullah.
Hezb is an illegal militia. It shouldnt get any special treatment, As much as you view them as a resistant movement, people on the other side view them as a crazy terror organization that calls for their country’s destruction and is behind the most cowardly acts of terror known in modern history. Israel should NOT pay for Lebanons lack of central leadership.
