Tent City Militiamen Attack Restaurant Clients

MP Atef Majdalani on Monday accused militiamen deployed at the Hizbullah-controlled Tent City in downtown Beirut of attacking with daggers clients at a nearby restaurant wounding some of them.
Majdalani, in a statement, said the restaurant clients were attacked Saturday evening by “militiamen based in the tents.”

The victims, according to Majdalani, sought police help but were told the area is off limits to law enforcing agencies.

The Hizbullah-led opposition set up Tent City in downtown Beirut 16 months ago with the declared objective of toppling Premier Fouad Saniora’s government that remains in office.

What is the reason why they attack them? Strange I don’t hear of militia attack with knives, the knives it is usually the Syrian workers who use them.

I can’t understand for the life of me, why are we allowing those bunch of losers cripple the country like this? I mean is this possible in other countries? Are we and our government bunch of chickens? They and their leaders and supprters should be put in jails. It’s been more than a year, come on someone must put an end to this.

Since it is all about propaganda (”tent city”), why not establish some counter propaganda in a form of opposite “14M tent alternative city” ?

Put tent against tent, and defuse the protest.
    It’s not costly, it’s easy, it’s effective and it’s a message.

Good that in Lebanon we have strong men like Tarek and Bashirist for life…

It’s obvious that the ISF can not go there and get the Iranian army out of DT beyrouth…you are talking as if you didn’t know what lebanon is made of. I think we have to address the issue and find a way to get rid of them but by knowing where we are heading to. Sending the ISF there to get them out is the begining of a civil war, such a decision is not about marjalé…

There should be a strong political campaign against this occupation other than saying it got the buddha bar to close and to sack 15 employees, this is not the issue…the issue is the symbol of this occupation and the effect it has on the image of lebanon both for lebanese and for foreigners. Then if someone should use force to get them out it should be the army which should have done it since the beggining. If it’s the army hizbis may think twice before getting in a fight but if ISF that they allready call militiet el solta then…

The only way they will leave, is if send someone to clean the dirt from the streets there and to cean the tents not from people but from the durt they left. that way they won’t feel at home and they will leave …

  • 10. Tarek | April 15th, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Ziyad, the army and ISF should be there at least to secure the area I’m not talking about attacking the tents with the ISF.

    “Hizbullah-led opposition”?
Stop copying CNN’s propaganda and make your own.
And why don’t you ever mention the FM thugs led by a sunni cleric who attacked a church in tripoli because of a picture of aoun and nasrallah that the aounists hanged there, and who had the blessing(taghtiye) of the officer in charge of security forces of tripoly?

LF civilized act: mass grave uncovered from 1990 war between geagea and army, the goverment mafia(the security forces) are trying to prevent anyone from uncovering who is the one who made it(geagea most probably).

Arze, i didn’t know that was one of ur “fantasm”… Queen Elizabath???? hé hé hé, come on girl, be a bit ambitious!!!!!

Libanon, t’as fini tes devoirs deja???

Back to the real things, i do agree with what is written above, why the hell the Gvmt isn’t doing anything?
When i got out of the airport, i was shocked to see Mughnieh on all the bilboards on all the streets… A martyr????

Funnily, the taxi driver was complaining to me about why kuwaitis are no longer coming to Beirut? Why would they? I’m not sure they will apreciate seeing Mughnieh 1st thing they get out of the airport.
But the hilarious thing is few km away u’ll find a giant poster of ELIZA ( she’s a mix of Nancy and Elissa).

Quite a contrast between Mughnieh and Eliza, shall i say “the Beast & the Beautiful”, or just call them by the real names ” the terrorist & the ARTist”?
