  This Made the News?

  Is Anyone Aware of the Decision the Cabinet made Today. A sad day for Christians. A tradition that has been held since the day of Jesus himself that walked in Lebanon. The Cabinet today canceling Good Friday as being an official National Holiday.

  Jester, you are a bit on old news, and the mistake was corrected and the goverment appologized to the Christians

  by the way, i think it was a smart decision to give the holiday for the public administrations on monday since they usualy work half day on fridays. makes more sense if you were just considering a day off… of course christians who like to consider it a praying day would shout me down but after all i am not living in lebanon now so its not for me to decide on such matters

  It was just “reversed” yesterday! Check your sources. The Good Friday holiday cancellation was proposed by a pro-March 8 Christian minister (Minister of the Environment- Sarraf). Seniora thought it is the wish of the Christians. Later found out that the Christians don’t want to cancel it so it was re-instated yesterday.

  Jester I think the news reached you too late :), the decision was canceled and good friday is again a national holiday

  and no this did not make the news today, but its worth talking about in the news, I mean haifa is like a lebanese tradition LOL … besides like u can take a look at cnn for example, 5 american soldiers die in iraq and they mention them for like 2 minutes after having spoken about paris hilton in jail for 10 minutes.

  who’s to blame??? its the press!!!

  U’re way too laste to comment on this story, since the decision has been reversed and cancelled, and this proves once again that the Christians still have their big influence in the country ansd that this government, despite some mistakes, is open to all and is democratic, not like the governments that were formed under the Syrian influence. We as Christians are asn equal partner in Lebanon, and we’ll keep on being a powerful partner.

  Enough of paris hilton and hayfa wehbi . We ‘re becoming more and more AMERICANIZE system from perfect bride to star academy ect…

  If you want to discuss this issue further , I will be more than happy to do so , what about a long kalam al nass episode instead of bullshiting around ????? Every time I call kalam al nass , they put me on hold for minutes and then SORYY SIR , we are running out of time ! Pathetic .

  I dont blame the lebanese people anymore complaining about the shity service here and there.
