Moghnieh then Sleiman and now another explosion very similar to Moghnieh’s bombing ..

17 dead and 14 wounded today.

What’s happening in Syria ? God knows .. its all too mysterous to come up with any conclusions ..
With 7 different intelligence agencies, complete secrecy, no news, no media, no nothing .. everything is possible, but this is by far the most dangerous explosion and the first of its kind in years in Syria ..

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Syrian state TV reports a car bomb explosion in Damascus has killed 17 people and wounded 14.

Al-Jazeera TV says the car bomb exploded near near a Syrian intelligence post at Sidi Kadad area on the highway to Damascus airport.

Explosions are rare in Damascus and the country is tightly controlled. But a car bomb last February killed Imad Mughniyeh, a top Lebanese Hezbollah militant who is wanted by the United States for terror attacks since the 1980s.

It would be interesting to find out who is the responsible party, i’m sure they will blame Israel somehow, I’m against violence and killing of innocent people and i hope i don’t sound harsh but i REALLY have no feelings for the syrian at all for what they have done and trying to do in Lebanon.

Honestly, part of me says “Allah ey-zedon” and the other part, the poor people are paying the price!
Unless the Syrian regime revealed the results of its investigation of HA’s Moughnieh and Syrian Commander Suleiman, no body will know who did it and why?

Why not blaming from salafis from lebanon?? accusing salafi emergence in north leb, warning of their middle possible meddling, putting troops on the boarder and then creating the event that would give the excuse….that would be typical baasi technique, let’s wait and see…

very christian attitude bashirist for life & ghassan K….
The 17 people who died shou 3emloulkoun ?! 3eb ya jame3a… screw the syrian regime and assad etc… but leave the poor syrian people alone… sha3b m3attar, anyone who’s been to syria knows that.

on the other hand i can’t help but wonder whether there’s any relation between the 10,000 troops recently deployed in the north and this bombing… could it be it’s the regime who did this in order to have an excuse to invade the north… maybe an “investigation” will show the bomb came from tripoli and syria will invoke its security concerns and tell the entire western world it has to go to lebanon and clean it up from the jihadist terrorists… it reminds me of israel’s excuse for invading lebanon in 82: the assasination attempt against its ambassador in London….
    This doesn’t look good guys

Hope it will not be related to the troops near lebanon.
maybe it has to do with the international tribune if someone was assasinated…
but hope on monday el General doesnt accuse the Lebanese forces of doing this…

    I say Walid Joumblat.

could be terrorists? could be extremists???

but why every time the Syrians clean the area where the explosions occur?

Shaklo, it has smthg to do with the International Tribune and someone was targeted.

Could be a variety of things…It seems too random targeting a checkpoint?

If the northern troops move in; if their “investigation” shows a salafi involvement…then we know who did it!

It could be a continuation of a power struggle/cleansing of old scores!

Whatever happens next will point us to the culprit!

The stories says that a Lieutenant was killed in the explosion (Check Youkal.net) and that there has been many clashes in Northern Syria with some army brigades (Al Siyassah newspaper) and that the deployment of the 10,000 Syrian troops on the northern borders are attributed to stop the movement of militants from Lebanon to Syria (Siyassah again) while Raaftat El Asaad (uncle and opponent of Bashar) was in Jebel Mohsen recently to have the support of the Lebanese Alaweetes… against who??

    Surely something is going on!

When the Syrians don’t really know whom to blame they are waiting a while searching for clues and evidence and further investigating. But now, as couple of times in the short past, they Syrians are quick in there respond. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has already and automatically blamed Israel.
But if we look on the last couple of murders we can see a similar type of action. Bashir el-Assad murdered Ghazi Cana’an who was summonded to testify before the international committee that had investigated the murder of the late Lebanese PM Rafiq Hariri. Three months ago we discovered that the head of the Syrian nuclear project had been murdered in Tartus because he met with the head of the IAEA Mr. Mohamed el-Baradei and told him the truth. And now another high Muhabarath commissioner had been murdered in order to protect the tiny cult that dominant over Syria for the last 45 years. Assad cleans his surroundings and kills whom ever is considered to be a threat upon him.
