Eddy: you clearly have no idea of what you are talking about,
I have lived for 13 years in Dubai and other GCC countries. I worked for 5 major companies so far. The heads of most of those businesses are mostly Arabs and mainly Lebanese.

The Gulf after 2000 is not the Gulf in 1970s so get updated and see who is behind the new projects in Lebanon. It's mostly Arabs who appoint a small Lebanese manager and he takes care of technical issues while they run their plans.

It because they are interested in multiplying their money and they see no religion and no sect while people like you are still looking for a way to blame others success on more divisions.

It is interesting to me how some societies, especially in the Middle East, and even in Latin America, firmly believe in zero-sum gain. That is the idea that one can only succeed at the expense of another.

This idea is how Communist sell their idea to uneducated peasants. They point to someone who has "things" and tells them that he has YOUR money. As we know for years of disasters, redistribution of wealth in this matter only ends in stagnation and disaster.

I see the same pattern in Lebanon and Iraq. Tribes (sects, whatever) seem to feel that they can only succeed if they take success from another. The concept of "A rising tide lifts all boats" is unheard of.

I see it to a lesser degree in more socialist counties, such as Australia and Europe. There they call it "Tall Poppy Syndrome". Anyone who succeeds is looked upon with scorn and suspect because everyone assumes they cheated. To date, unlike parts of the Middle East, they haven't resorted to guns and violence to "cut down the poppies".

that's a nice speach Fad14! You're right! But unfortunately when most posts and jobs in lebanon are divided among religions and sects, it's hard to always do what you're saying!

Its a shame to think the Christians are losing in this picture. I will continue to criticize everyone who thinks like this.

Look at Dubai, Christians have no ministers or presidents or mps and they live a life much better than Lebanon and are respected more and have the highest posts in businesses.

Stop thinking like a minority and get up and take a place in LIFE, its not by your sect you will progress but by your brains and unity with other Lebanese.

Get up and get a place in history and stop playing the victims,

MY remarks go to those who think they HAVE Nothing, no one will give you ANYTHING, Stand up and claim your rights and do something. WE ARE ALL EQUAL, YOU ARE NOT BETTER AND YOU ARE NOT WORSE.

DUBAI Was of people from all sects.

It's TIME not Times. It's right in front of you, 4 capital letters.

This is the European edition of the magazine by the way. The US edition had a completely different cover.
