Apparently there is another Lebanese victim but not confirmed:
Ross Abdallah Alameddine
I was also told by my friend Yasmina that there is one Lebanese victim among the dead students, Reema Smeha.
May she Rest in peace along with the 32 other innocent people killed by that sicko.
Here are pictures of the young Lebanese.

I can tell you exactly what happened. The people who run that school are all emasculated idiots. Virginia Tech (or Virginia Polytechnic Institute) was originally founded as a military school to provide engineers for the state of Virginia in the 1840s. While they allow civilians to go to school now (and women too…gasp!), they still have a corps of cadets there, about 1000 in all, and they all have M-14 rifles in every room in the barracks, which is directly opposite from the very building where this mess happened. (Downstairs they have some other stuff that goes boom.) All they had to do was just sound the alarm and they would have had 1000 angry guys out on the campus within minutes. Furthermore, the Police on the campus, because they technically are part of the Virginia State Police (and also cary guns), they could have done something, but they generally are just used to dealing with parking tickets and drunks.
Sadly, it probably is true that things are safer over there (now at least), however, the reason why this Han did this was because, in his own words he “wanted to kill rich white kids.” How Lebanese, Indians, and even fellow Koreans fit into this template is just evidence this guy was nuts. This hasn’t been reported that much, because it might encourage other people to do simmilar stupid things, or worse, revenge attacks. Americans know nothing about Korea, and probably will never see the connection between this attack and a movie that came out in Korea in 2003 called 실미도, or Silmido, where some troops in the Korean Army mutinied, killed their officers (who were ordered to kill them), and tried to go to the capital Seoul, and died trying. Furthermore, the level of anti-Americanisim has skyrocketed in Korea in the past several years, as the Communist-sypathizers in the “386 Generation” have come to power, whose failures have only fueled further anti-Americanisim. (Their leader, the incumbent president Roh would probably die if he had as much support as President Lahoud has now, which is saying something. The chairwoman of Roh’s party has a 1% approval rating.) The level of their anti-Americanism is generally greater than that of the Wahabbis’ dislike for the Shia3. It has gotten so bad over there that teachers in Government run schools over there have been passing out pro-North Korean propaganda (which is against the National Security Act) which is printed in North Korea (whose possession, even if it is for academic purposes is against the law). If teachers at NDU or AUB were passing out Israeli propaganda which was printed in Israel, I can only imagine how much fun the fellows at Al-Akhbar would have with that, but it doesn’t really make the news anymore in Korea because it happens so often.

Mohammad- you are absolutly right. It seems that anywhere we go, we will suffer, one way or another. I clearly see the situation in Lebanon to resemble that of the jewish diaspora, where they will all leave the country to regain it thousand of years back. The syrians and iranians (through their lebanese puppies) will keep pushing us out of the Lebanon…

I am from India and I live in West Palm Beach, Florida. I did not know Reema but she is the most beautiful young woman I have ever seen. I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one I cannot even begin to express the pain in my heart knowing she is no longer here with you all. However, do not make the mistake of failing to remember 2 things, she is in a far better place then we, she is an angel as she rightfully should be and also she is with her almighty father and right now she is enjoying his company and paradise. R.I.P Reema although you are not really gone you will be greatly missed xoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Even though I never personally knew Ms. Samaha, nor most probably never will have met her, I feel so so sad about this tragedy. It was so unnecessary what happened to her. Why couldn’t the gunman take his misery out on himself and just leave these innocent strangers alone? I will pray for Ms. Samaha and her surviving family.

some comment about reema
I met Reema last year when we performed together at the Northern Virginia Center for Dance and Theater’s dance company. She was one of the kindest people I have ever met and a very talented dancer. The world has lost a beautiful person and I have lost a sweet friend. My heart goes out to the Samaha family. Reema…I love you and will miss you!
Posted by Simi Khalsa of Herndon, Virginia
I met Reema a year ago in Lebanon she was my best friends cousin, I was practically part of their family, from the moment I saw Reema I loved her, she had the most beautiful smile, she was always nice and fun, we went out a couple of times she was truly a genuine and kind person, so sweet. Reema and Nayla Samaha (my best friend) were not just cousins they were best friends. I’m trying to be there for her as much as I can. Rest in Peace Reema, we really miss you.

I am a teacher in Northern Virginia and … taught Rema Semaha as a junior in US/VA history and as a student she was the perfect child. Always contributing to the class effort and always smiling and being proactive as a student with both her peers and adults she surrounded in the High school setting. She was loved by all who knew her and even in my new school she was known and remembered by a few who had once gone to school with her. She was the type of kid everyone wants their daughter to be, intelligent, beautiful, and full of life.

Allah yir7amon wu yir7amna. None of the 32 people that died on that day deserve what they had coming to them. I have a million ‘why’ questions running through my head right now, but none of it matters…talk is cheap - it’s time to do something about this trend.
I’m sad, angry and shocked - this goes on every year…sadly, it’s only getting worse, the number of victims are getting higher and no one is doing anything about it - la emtan?!?
Allah ma3on la ahla la Reema and the other families - wu allah lay jarib 7adan…outliving your children must be one of the hardest things anyone has to go through - allah ysabiron ya rab.

What a tragedy… I never met Reema, but close friends of my family know her family very well. From what I have heard, she was even more amazing than the reports, interviews, and stories show. My heart goes out to her family. I have rarely been as touched and saddened as I have in the few days since the shootings. Reema, I hope you are dancing in heaven and that your soul is helping your family and friends through this trying time. My condolences to the Samaha family and the families and friends of all the victims.

I think now the shock is now wearing off and just the sadness and sense of loss remains. I am shocked that the photo of the perpetrator is on this site. We should not give him any publicity. His face should never see the light of day and his words never again heard.
Reema and the others should have our attention and we should never forget them.
Also as a VT alumni, I feel I must correct ej’s comments of the 18th. Virginia Tech was founded as an Agricultural and Mechanical college in 1872 and the current core of cadets do not carry workable firearms.

Having attended the same parish as Reema Samaha for years, I am deeply saddened at this. Our community is quite close, and I was shocked seeing her face among the dead. The Samahas are a big part of our parish, and I feel this as an attack against our church family.
I always thought she was pretty, but she was considerably younger than I, so I never really talked with her. But she was always the center of attention during coffee hour.

EJ, Do not worry. We will not discriminate against Koreans because of Seung-hui Cho’s actions.
Cho, a lone idiot, has caused suffering for many people. He needs to be tossed into an unmarked grabe.
Reema needs a grand military-style funeral with Scottish pipes and cadets firing rifles into the air.

Sometimes you just don’t think something that happens so far away from home could affect you so much, but it does. I live in Costa Rica, but after hearing so unbearable news I only thought of how much pain was broght to Reema’s family. My deepest condolences to them. I really hope all the people who were part of her life remember her as the beautiful person she definetely was. Also, I admire the strenght of her father and siblings while giving interviews to the media.
God be with them.

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven’s love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem’ry bittersweet
Until we meet
Fly, fly do not fear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don’t wait for me
Above the universe you’ll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won’t forget
Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

My Heart and Prayers are with the entire Samaha family. Reema was the same age as my grand-daughter-also a dancer. I feel your incredible loss.
I am so inspired by the wonderful faith of Joseph Samaha as I listened to him speak on television…stay strong Joseph but give yourself time to grieve and continue to honor your lovely daughter Reema by the love you continue to show to all those you meet. You have a beautiful family.
God bless and heal you all with His blessed Peace.
Sending you hugs full of love from Marlene

Oh My Dear Reema,
Forever in my heart forever will you stay,
When I heard the news of you today,
I felt so sick I could not breath,
Tears of pain running down my cheek.
I never got to say goodbye,
As you were taken from us by a sinless crime.
To know you are my angel now brings some peace,
But I still wish you was here with me.
You came into my life and left a footprint,
then
I awake one morning and you was gone so quick,
Now all I have are these memories and pain,
Why must that horrible man take such sweet angels away with him,
Is this a dream,
It can’t be someone wake me,
I just want my friend back here with me,
Forever in my heart you are forever in my heart you will stay,
For I will meet you in Heaven one faithful day.
But for now you are in the sky,
and I must say goodbye.
In Memory Of my Lost special Best friend Reema at V.T I will Never Forget you. I miss you so and sure miss your beautiful sweet smile. You are in heaven now go rest in peace and may you be with god and all the angels May you dance with the angel be free I know you loved to dance I love ya girl and miss you .

I want to say how very upset i am about the death of Reema Samaha. I did not know her but i have been doing some reading on her ever since i heard that she was one of the lebanese murdered by the south korean guy. She was a very beautiful young girl and she had a good future ahead of her. It is just so horrible that she lost her life like this and i just am very upset by this. Rest in Peace Reema and may god and our lord jesus and all the angles protect you and look after you. You will never be forgotten Reema god bless you.

I did not know Reema, but I feel like I know her after reading all of these entries. In 2000 I graduated from RU and I used to go to VT for football games and parties. God bless all of the VT victims, their friends and family. Reem was absolutely stunning and it sounds like she was just as gorgeous on the inside as the outside. God bless her, her family and friends. I am impressed with the strength that the family has shown. Like I said at my grandfather’s funeral, he may not be here physically, but he’ll always be in my heart. Reema is the same situation. You will some day see Reema again as well. R.I.P. Beautiful Reema.
