I remember during the Syrian rule, many would leave Lebanon for a better future but then eventually to come back in few years time. Very few people would just leave for the sake of leaving.

After the July war, hundreds of thousands of young Lebanese left because they didnt want to stay here not one more second, regardless of whether they found a good job or not ..

This desperation to leave Lebanon is increasing by the day, and honestly i can no longer find any arguments to convince people from leaving this country since i myself am convinced i do not belong here anymore, not cause of any events, cause of facts that speak louder than words.

Eventually, even the cedars are packing and leaving :-)

N the only way for this country to prosper is for all militias 2disarm and for the palestinian camps to disarm as well. as long as there is weapons with terrorists such as HA the country will remain bleeding… But thts wht they want, they want the educated to leave and it will make it easy for bou da2en to rule… i c this happening in the long term though.. nabil n2oula now does not mind the army general to be a non maronite, next the president to b non christinan under the banner of “LAI Lel Ta2ifiyeh” The country is goin down the hill and u c so called christians cheering for hezb l shitan, wht a disgrace, in times like these i which Bash was alive, he would of buried such ppl 10452 meters under the ground…

Leaving this country is the most logic thing to do because logically this country isn’t ours anymore; this country is now for the Muslims, which Muslims well whoever wins the war. I don’t know why some of you or lots of you people still like this country and still believe in this country, I can’t find any reason, not even one.

    SOME NAIVE QUESTIONS? ANY ANSWER?

Where are the people of the cedar revolution? why don’t they protest and claim their rights? what are they waiting for?
    What is going on?

  • 6. Mickel | August 23rd, 2008 at 10:29 pm

    Kouwatje is right.

When Chrisitans were the majority, this country was going great. But then the muslims became the majority, and it’s been downhill eversince.

It is not about Christians per se but it is about oppenness to Western democratic values and capitalism…

Anyway, it is unlikely that Lebanon will be left to HA and Iran because this is an international and regional threat…We are now in a tough position waiting for the American election in November. A new American policy towards Lebanon will be devised.
Don’t accuse me of relying on Foreign assistance:We should be thankful for that.
Look what happenned in many parts of Africa and to a certain extent no one cares because so far these countries like Somalia and Zimbabwe do not constitute a direct threat to western interests…Lebanon will not be a safe haven for Iranian foreign policy forever…just wait and see

“this country is now for the Muslims, which Muslims well whoever wins the war”

Innou yaani the orangists Christians or the Kawmieh Christians min shou byishkou?

Not all Muslims are happy with shahatta mentality? They are very sophisticated western-oriented and highly educated…Look at the “mawakef” of Husseini, Chamsselediine, Mufti el Amin…Ahdab and so on…they are one hundered times better that these opportunistic lunatics called Orangists…
    Cheers
