I’ve been wanting to post about the latest road works being done, just to show you how short sighted and idiotic are those contractors being hired.

It is quite impressive, how one can manage to plan and execute such a lousy job not just in one region, but all over Lebanon.

The first example is this hole that came up right after the few rainy days we had, noting that this road was digged and repaved only few weeks ago.

Who is hiring those people ?? Where did they graduate from ?? Homs university ? walla mich ma2boul !

And the worst is yet to come.

When the government is weak and has no authority it can’t enforce regulations and rules and everyone works 3azaw2o.

By the way whatever happened to that Joura challenge that you had?

N… the contractor is not an idiot at all my friend. The story is very simple and goes like this: he gets hired to do a job costing $1M for example, he presents an estimate to the government for $4M, he gets the job done for $500K, he gives the minister or moudir 3am or whatever $500K and he keeps $3M for his pocket. ‘This is how it’s always been and this is why we’ll never have decent roads and this is why this country will always be a farm ran by a bunch of thugs.
SO… the contractor is not an idiot, he’s a THIEF AND A CROOK
    Take care

stop paying people to do the roads. bring in chain gangs of prisoners to build the roads. Chain an iron ball to them so they cant run and make them work off their debt to lebanon.

    that will save millions :)

why not chain gangs of syrians instead :-)

They r working anyway and there’s plenty of them :D

It’s Hizbullah’s fault - they weaken the state so we cannot do much about it.

    I agree with Anonymous,
They are not idiot, they are a bunch of thiefs and crooks.
But I will add that it is the result of the absence of good planning.

In a related matter, Lebanon is the only country where you still find Cement Blocks separating the roads, despite all the accidents they caused.

    Guys,

Now this is real…I have a video of these “road pavers” whereas they asphalted the road (in front of Movenpick) by covering everything…INCLUDING the manholes and the sewage drainage!! and yes this was seven years ago…done by the homsis no less!! What a bunch of morons! I was told the next crew was most likely going to come in looking for the sewage drainage to “clear” it….

Now if it rains a little everything, including the roads are flooded. If you ever wondered why? Now you know!

This is all thanks to majlis el 2inme2 wal 3amar (courtesy of PM senoira) that gives the job to cheap companies so they can recieve commission. As long as you keep electing these thieves you deserve to crash your car into in every one of these holes.

Very well said Fou2ad… I couldn’t have said it better myself
