And you ask me why accidents happen !#@!@

It is true that i keep critisizing the mistakes done by the government and the M14 group and the incompetence of many many officials and the security forces, and peope ask me why dont i do something about it ?

Well, i hope this post answers your question, because it truly reflects the level of passivness and incompetence we are experiencing. No politics involved though, simply very basic road safety indications that no one bothers to apply.

The picture taken is from the Dbayyeh Maritime road that hundreds if not thousands of cars use everyday to get to Beirut, and you can spot from the picture a sidewalk with a man performing his morning walk .. while a van and other cars behind it ( not showing), decided to take a shortcut and use the sidewalk as another lane on the highway !!!!

Imagine someone jogging in the morning and having to watch out for crazy drivers coming at full speed on the sidewalk !!

Surprinsingly though, not only the policemen did not bother to stop them ( they were 100 meters away only), but i see a policeman on his harley using the sidewalk as well !!

What can i do here ?
Close the road myself ? they ll probably jail me ..
Yell at those passing on the sidewalk ? I ll get involved in a fight and god knows which one is them has a gun.
Yell at the policemen ?? No thank you ..

Post about it ? definitly !

However, i will inform a friend of mine who happens to be a policeman to do something, but i doubt it ll last…

    We need the UN and the Arab League to arrest this guy.

    Even the, we need to also make sure sure he is not with Berri or Hariri or Murr or some other kherie kbire.

    My God JoseyWales , your gonna convince me that Lebanese forces , Tayyar mousta2bal , and All M14 are all Angels in Driving ! grow up for Gods sake ! This driving madness in lebanon hits everyone ! i cant believe even the driving is politicized in this country ! its Discusting !

    Last time i came to lebanon i had a fight with a policeman because he was asking me to remove my car while 2 cars were parking next to the side walk with hariri pictures on their back ? hole mush kherie kbire ?

    Guys, Jamil Sayyed is issuing daily statements now. Can someone please explain to me how a guy accused of murdering an ex-prime minister is allowed to make statements and attack other politicians ??? In his latest one he even attacked Saad Hariri. Can you believe the nerve of this guy ??? The government should shut him up once and for all.
    Day after day I realize the March 14 guys are a bunch of cowards. they’re not doing anything for this country. they’re just good at hiding in hotels, fleeing to Europe, or make empty statements ma bi addmo wala bi akhro bi shi. They haven’t done anything since March 14 2005. These politicians disgust me…ALL OF THEM

    Maybe she does not get sarcasm.

    I want the law applied by the LEBANESE state WITHOUT the UN or the Arab League or Hezbtizi or the PLO NOW, and on this guy and on everybody else, regardless of who they are and what they support.

    Geagea killed an ex-prime minister too, hasn’t he? He makes statements too doesn’t he? Does he live in a prison or a villa?

    I would like to comment on something not related to this post and may I recommend to the website manager to consider making a separate post on this issue.

    In fact, I was visiting the tayyar.org website today (I am not an FPMer but interested to see what all parties have to say) and I noticed that they have a cheap adult oriented adverstizing on their internal webpages such as “Meet Local Singles Lesbian and Bi Women! by DikeFinder.com”
    This did not necessarily surprise me coming from the FPMers but it is quite indicative to what low levels this party is willing to go to for the sake of dollars and cents. I am sure they are doing much more seriously questionable stuff behind the scenes but this one is worth noting!

    Isn’t the INTERIOR MINISTRY BUILDING a few hundred yards away from this road??!!!!

    Isn’t there at least one, just one, out of all the officers occupying that barraks that realized that something looks wrong here?
