Sami to run for the elections ?
Posted by N10452It seems Sami Gemayel will be the Kataeb candidate for the upcoming Matn elections. I heard it from many sources and it was hinted today in Annahar. I think he is their best candidate, i didnt want Amine to run honestly …better have someone fresh and Sami is in a strong position within the party now and his own group.
I cant wait to see whether Aoun is gonna participate or not …
Time has come to put those 70% to the test.

70% ? Plz 72% , dont put the 2% in your pocket coz this subtraction makes you 30% whcz you’re not ! 30% sounds alot better than 28% , just like $99.99 are not a $ 100.00 !!!!!
Stop advertising for good.
Back to the subject , S. jmayel is not the right candidate . I just dont know why Amin jmayel trynna keep it in the family??? I strongly beleive that George. jrej is a bit batter than Samy . This division in between the kataeeb is going to reflect on the final result , unless SAAD BI7ARIK AL MAKANA $$$$$$$ !!! Will see guys !
Good luck general (if you call it) , we will be there for you against the KINGDOM of kataeeb . You deserve it general .
3. @li 1559 | July 20th, 2007 at 5:31 am
I was kidding about the 2%
, dont lash me with your words bcz of that .
4. Emile | July 20th, 2007 at 8:12 am
@li
please grow up and stop reading al akhbar because you are greatly and badly not updated with what’s goin on inside the kataeb party.. stop reading newspaers shmel yamin.. 7alil use your empty brain syrian puppet;) shu b7essak walad.. 3anjad awladoukom laysou lakom.. walla!
5. FranceLiban | July 20th, 2007 at 8:44 am
@li who is george jrej???
I would be really happy if it was sami for many reasons, the most important being the work of the loubnanouna group

What is Sami’s policy platform regarding what is affecting us in Lebanon today?
Can anyone, including Sami, answer this question. This is the problem of the Lebanese government. Dont get me wrong. I am March 14 whole heartedly, and ouwetjeh in my leanings, but the entire political dynamic of the country must change.
We must break the grasp of the za3im. Are the Gemayel’s the only family that can represent citizens of the Metn?
There should be a general ban on all: Lahoud, Aoun, Berri, Nasrallah, Gemayel, Joumblat, Geagea, etc. in the next election. These families have brought nothing but destruction to our country. They do not get along. We citizens do get along. Let someone else have a chance.
Let’s break the cycle of za3im and see our country prosper.

Sami Gemayel is a very good guy and gives youth a big hope for the future. I see in him lots of his uncle Bashir qualifications. He has a flair of revolution inside of him, and many good opinions, and I wish he will be selected as candidate, and if it is the case, Aounists and others should vote for him if they want a good person to represent them in the Parliament.
8. Fad14 | July 20th, 2007 at 10:18 am
I hope this elections can start to give the real % in al Matn to see where aou aou stands against us.
Beirut looks set for a landslide victory by FM proving “how unpopular” they are.
9. Johnny.B | July 20th, 2007 at 11:02 am
@li 1559,
let me remind you of the 70% from what its formed :
20 % = michel l-murr
15% = l-awmeh l-soureh
5% = l-ba3eth party
30% = arman and tachnak
5% = aoun supporters
w among the 5% aounist there are 4% who WHERE with him before he made the war2et l-tafeihom …
we are pure 30% … and proud of it ….
10. Sokhoushmoush | July 20th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
No Johnny that’s not true!I live in Metn and Baath doesn’t exist in Metn,unless if u’re talking about the Syrian workers!!Awmeh ,they are maximum maximum 5% ,from Mourouj and Bologna most of them.In 2005 91% of the Armenians in Metn voted for Hagop Pakradounian and Aoun’s list ,and 85% of Armenians voted for Michel Elmurr.The Armenians are so many in Metn ,but half of them vote in Beirut, that’s why we see a strong Tashnak base comparing to the weak Tayyar base.I’m telling u guyz ,Tashnak has a very very strong influence in Metn ,and I gotta admit that FPM has lost a small portion of its popularity ,but yet according to some polls ,they are still on top in Metn party popularities .32% FPM
16% Kataeb
15,5% Ouwet
I forgot the rest…
And don’t forget Nassib La7oud and other 14 marchists.So I guess if elections are held the FPM candidate will get 60% or 65% of votes…thanks to its allies.

Slowhand,
With all my respect, and i do agree with you about the tyrannies in power, and that we got enought from them, but if you look back, u’ll see the forllowing facts:
1- Aoun, Nasrallah, Geagea, Hariri, and Berri were not descedent of politics family, and yet, and i quote from you “have brought nothing but destruction to our country”.
2- this proves that no matter who will come, he will start his own legacy and bring his kids in the future.
3- Sami Gemayel, and despite being from the family and following the same path, but he’s a lot different in his thinking and opinions, so i think we should better giving him the chance, in addition he’s so close to youth, which is an advantage.
4- if we want to compare between the politics of the past, when families (Gemayel, Chamoun, Jumblatt, Karame, Assaad, Salam, Arsalan, etc…) were governing, we’ll see that despite everything, they had a big deal of patriotism at least, not like some of our new version leaders who have nothing to do with belonging to Lebanon, look at Kanso, Wahhab, Kandil, Mrad etc…
Thank you

So in the end, Amine Gemayel who’s running not Sami. He just announced that. Of course i wish him luck, despite the fact that i personally prefered Sami.
Last, may Pierre’s soul, and all our Martyrs souls Rest In Peace.
