  Not to be insensitive at this time (my sympathies to his family)…. but the article you posted in Arabic says “Amn il aam”.”Amn il aam” is not ISF. ISF = darak.

  Right Nadim, the killer is from “General Security”, which controls ports and issues passports.

  I don`t believe this is a simple trafiic or priority issue. The article clearly mentions an officer involved. It is not a regular police man. An officer would not use his gun for a common traffic issue. No matter what is the motive here, I believe that this officer shold be sentenced for homocide and the government should pay compensation for the family of the victim.

  I know the guy personally, he’s a friend of mine and he’s one of the greatest men. He has done so much for his village Damoor and for many Lebanese citizens. He was here in Kuwait, where he launched his business, and still he owned a business here run by his brother Charbel. He was a man who loves life and who is always smiling. No one could ever hate Elie Ghrayeb, cvause even if you want you can’t, because he’s the kind of great Lebanese people, who tried to help as many young Lebanese. He was preparing to open a huge tourism project in his town Damoor, but as many he was stuck by te July war in 2006 and he lost so many. He was a father for a 2 years old girl, and a 6 months child. Let’s pray for him to rest in peace.

  What is disgusting about the matter, is that some are still in Lebanon turning to violence to solve even the very stupid conflicts. I hope the shooter (they were 3 in the car) will rotten in Jail.

  1- ISF is not amen 3am.

  2- in the news footage, they showed a glock pistol on the car floor…anyone knows where this came from??? AFAIK, amen 3am have smith and wessons standard issue, some colts and some herstals. no glocks were issued to them and a glock costs between 1600 - 1800 so pretty expensive for a govt employee to own one….was it for the victim????

  3- the shooter turned himself in saying it was for personal reasons but I did not hear anything about him being a security agent of some sorts…

  may Elie rest in peace and may the shooter(s) be punished for their evil deed.

  yes he is from General Security indeeed, and he was going to his work at the airport at the time the accident happened.
  what we knew till now, that they were 3 in the car, one officer and two of his bodyguards, so we don’t know who’s the real shooter at the moment.

  Elie Ghorayeb was bigger than life, the most generous with the biggest heart who never forgot his village and people when he became capable of help, and he gave without asking .. It is ironique that he was shot and killed like that , only in lebanon , by a scum policeman who’s not worth a penny, him his stars and his whole organization.. Only in Lebanon you find gangsters wearing official uniforms, the worst breed of animals who walk among decent people while they belong in cages.
  May God rest your Soul and keep your loving memory to your family who will pass the story of your glory to your children so they grow up to become like their father, good lebanese people.

  I wonder how they say so quickly it is about traffic issue, who pass first…The victim cannot say why the shooting happen of course he is dead so the police they automatic beleive the shooter???

  Maybe they shoot him because he has business in the South Lebanon, or maybe something else but how can we beleive quickly it’s only traffic accident??

  guys, I heard that it might involve the wife of the officer having an affair.

  The officer thought it was Elie so he shot him.

  Same source says that Elie was NOT the man involved with the officers wife and was killed due to a mistaken identity issue.

  So sad.

  Nobody knows what happened here, but i can tell you all the business Elie was trying to establish in Lebanon is touristic projects, and mostly in Damour surrounding like resorts , restaurants and things like that.. Where he would create job opportunities for the youth in the area.

  The Whole story is unbelievable, but i would also believe that a wortheless piece of shit like this so called officer played Rambo in the middle of the day because there is no control and no ethics in our police organization. Let’s wait and see if the murderer and his body guards will walk away, like a lot of people think this will be the case.
