Hello anon and thank you for ur valuable input,

I do not believe for one second that Hezbollah dropped its islamic agenda, They want to islamize it and they r working on it, most of the time by deceiving us and all Lebanese that they are patriotic .. they did not change a word and cannot since this is part of their religion ..

As for Salafists, unfortunatelly my friend they are many and they are growing stronger and more powerful everyday and i have urged Sunnites more than once to pay attention to those groups, since Salafists are peaceful people but there is a very thin line btw a Salafi and a Jihadi and here lies the danger ( for ex Fath el Islam).

I have practicing muslim friends as well as muslim friends i have a drink with .. I get along with the open minded ones who accept critisim of their religion but have many ones who are fanatics and with whom i avoid talking about Islam or religion in general ..

I studied in a verry diverse university and i have many Muslims, even was very friends with veiled girls, mainly one with whom i used to argue about religion and who taught me a lot ..

It is not really about the religion but rather the person practicing it, whether he is doing it by conviction or is simply blinded by it ..

You cannot unfortunatelly accuse me of chritianizing the country since the Christian Cause walks in parallel with the Lebanese Cause .. Lebanon without its Free Christians is not more Lebanon .. BUT Lebanon is Christians & Muslims ..

The whole civil war was everything but civil to me, it was a purely directed war againts the Free Christians of Lebanon, and therefore against Lebanon, unfortunatelly assisted by many Lebanese Muslim parties ..

14march made a large Muslim community understand it cannot ignore Christians in this country, and they walked hand by hand .. but there is another large one who still does not believe in Lebanon at all ..

N10452

Hizballah have their own agenda which unfortunately in the end has nothing to do with Lebanon at all and more to do with their "hero" ideology, but even they have come to the conclusion that Lebanon will not be Lebanon without its christian population as well as its muslims, and hence have had to change their original "aims".

As for the salafists, please be reassured that they are a minority in the country, speaking as a muslim, let me tell you that non of us want to end up living in a wahabi or iranian regime. The fight at Nahr el Bared only re-inforced the anti-salafist issues.

It's like me accusing you of trying to "christianise the country" by allowing missionaries to come here and establish themselves trying to convert people. I think it's a bit far fetched to accuse a majority of a minority's actions.

I wonder if you will allow me to ask a personal question (pls feel free not to answer ): do you have any practicing muslim friends? I mean not the kind you have a drink with at the bar, but the kind who fast and pray five times a day. If you do, are they many or are they a few, how do you see them and how do you get along with them? If you don't maybe it would be a good idea to get to know some, they are after all a part of your country.

We are all together in this country one and the same. I hope one day our cause will be Lebanon itself rather than a "muslim cause" or a "christian cause".

Anon,
No Organized massacres were done by the LF against Muslim villages, i already told you undisciplined militants did commit atrocities in villages or on checkpoints but not once did the LF order its man to massacre a whole village like Palestinians and their allies did ..

Hajez el Barbara had many violations, i admit it and there were many others in the Mountain, but not ordered by the leaderships .. and that is a big difference ..

I ask you to print me a list of all Muslims massacred by the LF during the war in a specific occasion ..

There were casualties from both sides, but am talking about organized massacres here .. and that we did not take part in ..

As for not islamizing us, believe me u r very wrong .. Hezbollah & Salafists do not seem to agree much with you and they are many to reject that mix ..

N10452
Are you trying to tell me that the LF did not commit any massacres on muslim Lebanese for "just being muslims" during the civil war? Isn't that slightly naive? I will give you a challenge, show me that you really care about all Lebanese, print a list of muslim martyrs massacared at any one occasion by the LF during the civil war . Only then will I believe that you care about this country and will stand against ALL atrocities from ALL sides.

By the way, believe me, nobody is trying to Islamize you, the joy of being Lebanese is having the mix and match of all these wonderful religions that makes us a the whole country that we are. If we lose any portion of this population, we lose an essence of what makes us Lebanese.

Anon,
I do not concentrate on one sect and if i were to post all our martyrs, you would see tons of Muslim names in them ...

Those are martyrs of brutal massacres committed by Palestinians aided by Lebanese factions ...

The Lebanese Forces did not exist back in 1976 and those who committed the black saturday were undisciplined militants ( knowing that even Kataeb did not have a militia back then).

I condemn Sabra & Chatilla and always did, i condemn all massacres against innocent civilians and condemn the assassinations that occured during Hakim-Aoun war ...

But Those i am posting about are Martyrs who died for a Cause, for being Christians first and foremost, and on the hands of Lebanese parties who till today are still willing to islamize us ..

Dear N10452,

I understand the need to remember those who were lost, infact I congratulate you on keeping their memory alive, but nearly 100,000 people lost their lives in that war, and your blog only seems to concentrate only on those lost from one sect. Is this how we are trying to build our new Lebanon now? Why don't you put lists of names of martyrs killed by the side you support too, perhaps those innocent civilians killed by just checking their ID on that black day? Then I'll know you really care about all Lebanese. The only way we can move forward is to admit that everyone who had a hand in that war was a criminal, and admitting to ALL the crimes, not just the ones perptrated against one side.
