It is OK to criticize one's home from time to time. While the US is a great country and home for many Lebanese, the point is that we are FREE to crtiticize it without some Syrain moukhabarat or Hizballah killing us the next day. Try publishing a similar article in Syria and you will know what I am talking about (By the way, you should check out a new book called "The Truth about Syria, by Barry Rubin", published last month). Anyway, to go back to our subject, some of the critique about the US is true and some is exagerated. The US is not perfect but it is still one of the best places to live in, work and raise a family. It is true, we all get frustrated from time to time, but believe me as a Lebanese-American, I love both countries and criticize both countries. One thing though, the CIA and FBI are not the Syrian Moukhabarat. Cell phone contracts are not tha bad (and way cheaper than in Lebanon), and the jails are no Mazzeh (not that I know either).
