Even though i like the guy and hope he wins the upcoming US elections, but that statement of his was hilarious.

My guess is that he meant Iran but it came out as Iraq with him.
For those who dont know whose on Iraq’s borders, check this map.

Sorry for sounding like an American rather than a Lebanese for that.

  • 12. Fuziyad | July 28th, 2008 at 8:58 pm

Nothing new…all western politicians are like this…I saw once sarkozy not able to answer if al qaeda is sunni and shia and the french are supposed to know more…

Overall Obama is undoubtebly much much better for the US but not being american i certainly would prefer to see Mr Bomb Iran at the white house. God bless that old idiot and make him victorious…

  • 13. Mickel | July 28th, 2008 at 9:36 pm

    Obama sucks.

He wants to talk to Iran and negotiate. We need a hard-liner like McCain to stand against Syria and Iran.

The Democrats are a bunch of p*ssies, and won’t solve any problems.

  • 14. paul | July 28th, 2008 at 10:35 pm

obama is a hypocrite, everyone can say what he says.and because the Americans are naive people,he has good cards to win.

  • 15. paul | July 28th, 2008 at 10:42 pm

    …i dont mean the lebanese-american :-)

  • 16. Doc 1559 | July 29th, 2008 at 5:10 am

Mc Cain is an old thinker, worse than bozo bush and DICK cheney. Wise up Lebanese Americans (mickel) do you need another war, another recession? I dont think so…

McCain has received millions in donations from the same oil, coal, nuclear, chemical, utility, and auto companies that helped the Bush administration create its energy oil plan that has raised gasoline to $4 a gallon.

Everyone knows that McCain is trying to replay Vietnam, so I’m guessing that’s exactly what he has planned. He’s making up stuff about how he’d love to withdraw troops, but Joe Lieberman said the same crap while running for reelection in 2006 and look where he stands now. You can’t trust anything McCain says on this .

Dow with McCain , down with the 100 years war . Long live RON PAUL.

  • 17. kezballah | July 29th, 2008 at 3:33 pm

    paul hahahaha :-)

Well I think the Lebanese-American all they care about is Arabic food and dabki I never see them doing something for Lebanon they can help so much if they work hard for Lebanon especially in Washington lobby.

  • 18. Mickel | July 29th, 2008 at 8:13 pm

    Kezballah

You know that the Lebanese would only lobby against each other :D

  • 19. Mickel | July 30th, 2008 at 1:21 am

    Ali
you support ron paul? I don’t know why I laughed when I read that :D

I just want to say that if the US pulls out of iraq too soon, it will be a massacre between the sunnis and shiaa (just like what happened in the mountain when israel pulled out)
And we have to counter Iran’s influence in iraq and the middle east.

  • 20. Doc 1559 | July 30th, 2008 at 4:55 am

    Mickel

Massacre between sunnis and chiaa ??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MA BA3REF LEH DA7AKTNEH ya mickel!! laman ken saddam bil 7ikem ma ken fi la sunni wla chi3eh bil Iraq , kil hal ma3rek al ta2ifiyeh balachit min ba3ed ma ra2issak G.bush karara yfut 3la al Iraq!! Bala 2inta ka massi7e manak haklen ham al kilden (chaldeans) bil Iraq? min mass2oul 3n tihjiron gher bush ??? Gharib amrak ya sa7be…

Perhaps you misunderstood, or perhaps I wasn’t clear. I’m a lebanese-american and have all the right to support any candidate ya mickel.

I think you got a couple of facts wrong, you’re clearly a well supporter of corrupted government, criminal regime (MacCain)exactly what I would expect form a young LFer living in america.

At last , there is no doubt that you were happy with the bush support during the july war , where you country was destroyed for the sake of 2 Israeli soldiers!!! The lebanese ppl deserve the oppurtunity to ask YOUR bush questions as they do of HA and to hear direct answers , not empty words.

    Allah yi7mik la ahlak habibi..

    Kezballah

Are you talking in general here ?

  • 22. Mickel | July 30th, 2008 at 8:22 am

    Ya Ali

    Ya sadi2,
First of all I wasn’t saying that you don’t have the right to support whomever you want, I just said that I was surprised that you would go with Paul. He’s alright though.

    And you’re right,
when Saddam was in power, there were no Sunni and Shi’a in Iraq; there were only Sunnis!
The Shi’a weren’t even allowed to do their prayers and Hajj…
Not to mention what he did to the Kurds
    (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halabja_poison_gas_attack)

The Sunnis are frustrated because they lost all their power, and the Shi’a are getting their revenge.
There has been ethnic clensing in all parts of Iraq–and the Christians, being a minority suffered the worse.

You can’t blame everything bad in Iraq on W.
