  Hopefully more and more people will stop denying the Armenian genocide.

  Such a crime shouldn’t happen to anyone.

  Its sad to see some countries are not admiting the genocide (such as USA)because of the relation (allies) with Turkey.

  As an aside,

  Lebanon being part of the 22 countries recogn. genocide is a rare instance of Lebanon being on the right and courageous side of an important issue.

  And that’s only because of our large Armenian community, rather than because of any vision or courage by our bankrupt “leaders”.

  Looks likes everyone took care of C.R. already, so I don’t need to add anything.

  Listen, I wish that everyone knew as much about the Armenian (and let’s not forget Assyrian) genocide(s).

  But instead of complaining that very few people know anything about it, and lamenting the fact that the whole world knows what happened to the Jews, Armenians (and Assyrians) should

  1) Recognize that what happened to them in Turkey is not unlike a hundred other examples of 20th and 21st century genocide, whereas what happened in the Holocaust was unlike anything the world had ever seen before. Moreover, the Jews have a long history of living in Western lands, of doing business in the West, of participating in Western governments, they have a longer and broader relationship with Western societies, most live in the West and know the people there, etc. Given *all* these things (and more), I think it is understandable that the West (and consequently the world.. not only through Western influence, but also because no one mentions the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict without mentioning the Holocaust) knows more about the Holocaust than about anything that happened to Armenians or Assyrians.

  And 2) Instead of complaining about it, just recognize these things and work all the harder, and make the facts about the Armenian and Assyrian genocides known to the world anyway. The Jews are organized. Everyone knows this. So instead of complaining that they are influential, just do what they do. Armenians can organize. Assyrians can organize. Christians all over the Middle East can organize. So why don’t we see more of that? Stop complaining that the Jews know how to make their voice heard.

  It’s very un fortunate that for the longest time the Armenians weren’t willing to recognize that there were other Christians who were killed with them and they wanted just like some Jews to say that the Holocaust was only theirs when history shows that during WWII many Christians in Europe specially Polish Christians were massacred by Nazi German soldiers for helping Jews.Today, there are scholars who recognize that fact.

  Back to the 1915-1918 Genocide which is known to the Assyrians as Seypa/Seyfo(The Sword) whereby close to 800.000 Assyrian Christians of all Church denominations were massacred and driven out of their lands in southeast Turkey at the hands of Ottoman Turks and Kurdish tribes, and as mentioned the Armenians weren’t willing to recognize the fact that Assyrians and Pontic Greeks were also massacred during that time and that is why the numbers of Assyrians dwindled in that area.

  Only in recent years and due to efforts by Assyrians who worked on recognizing the Genocide that some Armenian scholars began to support and recognize that Armenians weren’t the only targetted people.

  Assyrians and till today always remember how the survivors say that when the slaughtering began, the murderers used to say “there is no difference between a red and a white onion…After all it is an onion” (meaning the Christians in general).

  As an Assyrian whose grand-parents survived those horrible times only to be yet again faced with another massacre which was the first of the 20th century in the Assyrian village of Simel(North Iraq) on August 07, 1933,when over 5000 un-armed Assyrian elderly,children,women and men were massacred,it seems to us that the chain of systematic annihilation against our people isn’t ending as they continue to suffer while their ancestral lands are under foreign control.

  We hope that the voice of those who lost their voices when they were slaughtered will be heard loudly so that the international community will finally recognize that there is an indigenous people who is looking for justice and peace,but when will that happen remains obscured.

  1- im with you in the usa thing couple of people got fired from the white house congress when they refered to armenia as a genocide the genocide word got them fired im with you just because they are allies they are not admiting it and that usa has lots of army bases in turkey they have lots of supplies going forward and back through the bases a day thats there exuse its not time to say about the genocide thats what one of the members in the white house congress said which she got fired because of saying it was a genocide search it on youtube.
