Mar Maroun Holiday
Posted by N10452Update: Sfeir Says Maronite Church Keen on Coexistence
I wish Naharnet refrained from saying Separate St.Maroun celebrations, as no real celebration but a disgraceful event to Mar Maroun and the Maronites was occuring in Syria today.
I wish all the “Marouns” a blessed holiday and the Maronites and Christians in general a Happy Mar Maroun day … The road to Mar Maroun will be crowded today, wish people remembered him more than once a year though …

What a shame to see aoun in syria alongside lahoud and franjieh… No surprise though as we all expected it and id love to see “shabeb” l tayyar, what they have to say about it… a real shame.

Charles,
It is another effort by the Bashar murderous regime to undermine the Maronite church and the Cardinal Sfeir. No other significance in seeing these lap dogs smiling like someone poked something up their collective behind…and they are loving it!
Happy Mar Maroun day to all my friends and a special someone…
3. Reminder | February 9th, 2010 at 2:55 pm
I believe mar Maroun was in Syria and a Syrian, should we curse him? What about the Maronites in Syria?
btw Sfeir doesn’t need Bashar to undermine him, he silly and selfish decisions and speeches are doing just fine. The guy is a total disgrace to the church and Christianity.
compare Pope John Paul 2 on one hadn and sfeir on the other… the guy instills hatred against an entire sect and interferes into politics more than a religious official should especially a Christian one, please refer to the bible.
4. danny | February 9th, 2010 at 2:58 pm
Reminder,
You constantly NEVER fail to show your vulgar and street creds….You do not agree with the batrak fine! But stop revealing your place of residence!! The sewers of the Southern District where you feel great with king Rat…and eating scata…
5. Reminder | February 9th, 2010 at 3:04 pm
danny i am christian and maronite 7abibeh… maybe more so than you… not only do i disagree with the batrak but i accuse him of deliberately taking sides and helping in dividing the christians, if two parties differ on political issues why have the church take sides? leave politics to politics and do not include religion in such frivolous stuff.. mich min 2imet el dine w knisseh tedakhal bi eshya watyieh metel el siyesse, but unfortunately our batrak wateh w mest3ed yi taeh el knisseh kello kermel geagea….
i also accuse the senile shortsighted racist that he broke the law when he came up with a political statement 24hrs prior to the elections which NOONE has the right to do… talk about enforcing the law? put him on trial… typical back warded LFers still think that the clerics can make no mistakes and we should always listen to them, little do they know that those who brought christianity to its knees and where its is right now are its religious leaders.. ma fi gheir pope john paul 2 and pope puis tal3in mne7..
6. Charles | February 9th, 2010 at 3:36 pm
Reminder,
Please change your name to Aristotle you wise, all-knowing man. Who are you to say whats right and wrong and what they did to Christianity or what they didnt? Seriously for God’s sake go see other imams and sheikhs speak politics, take sides, and condemn others then come talk about the patriarch who’s existence preceded that of anyone else! You undermining their role politically leaves no one to stand and represent a true Christian speech that no one, and i mean no one, has the right to curse. Again, it is a shame for Aoun going there because we know he’s not there for St. Maroun’s celebration reason (but what do we know Bashar sent him a private plane maybe he loves Christians so much) seriously grow out of your head and understand reality. The reality of our presence in the region, our very existence.
7. Charles | February 9th, 2010 at 3:39 pm
“ma fi gheir pope john paul 2 and pope puis tal3in mne7..” seriously shou hayda??? what are you talking about man??? take God’s role while you’re at it..
8. fad14 | February 9th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
Happy Mar Maroun day to all brothers who celebrate it and their families.
On a seperate subject.
There was a plane carrying “Michael Aoun, Lahoud, Franjieh, Jean Aziz, Emile Rahmeh, Gebran Bassil etc.” that took off and landed safely, imagine if it was switched with the Ethiopian plan, …. what a quite day today would have been.
9. Reminder | February 9th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
i never said the sheikhs and imams were any better, in fact they are wosrse, far worse..the majority if not all of terrorist acts committed by muslims can be traced back to exploitive and corrupt muslim clerics…
as for who am I to say whats right and wrong? i read these ppl’s history and read of how they treated their own people let alone ppl from other religions and then I take a look at Christs’ teachings… huge difference…
as for taking God’s role I ll leave that to Morgan Freeman he is not bad at all and yes these two popes are among very few clerics who were really good.
10. Tareq | February 9th, 2010 at 4:03 pm
fad14, if that plane of Syrian a-s-s lickers had taken the fate of the Ethiopian plane I would have believed that there is a God, but how can we believe in anything good when it’s the innocent children and hard working fathers die while the scum of the earth go pretend to pray with the saints.
Reminder, if you were alive in the time of Christ, you would have been one of those asking to crucify him, you are an idiot blinded by hatred who preaches virtue and believes his own drivel.
11. Reminder | February 9th, 2010 at 4:20 pm
i am the opposite of a jew my dear LFer, i thinkin it would have been u and the rest of teh “righteous” Lfers.. iam blinded by hatred yet it is u who is wishing a planeload of innocent non-murderous ppl dead..
12. Alyssa | February 9th, 2010 at 4:21 pm
Dhimmi reminder is trolling here aswell, never ceases to amaze me and using a religious holiday as a cheap political attack, I would worry about the Maronites in Lebanon first before taking interest in the ones in Syria if I were you. There are very few maronites left in syria anyway.
Aoun is not going to Syria for religious reasons (HAH! he is not a religious leader as much as he wishes) but to go further more lick Bashar’s a** and degrade himself ”in the name of chrisitans” like he did in Iran. This christmas he might even pop over to tehran for christmas shopping and new year celebration in ”the name of christians” hahaha god what a brainwashed fool
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! to all Lebanese christians even non maronites across the globe xxx
13. Tareq | February 9th, 2010 at 4:58 pm
Reminder, if it wasn’t so tragic I would have laughed at you calling Aoun innocent and non-murderous, if you consider blocking and bombing residential areas to the ground innocent and non-murderous then what the hell is your problem with Geagea and other militia leaders? Oh I forgot, you only have a problem with some militias, for you 7 May in Beirut by the thugs of Hezbala is a march for peace.
14. Alyssa | February 9th, 2010 at 5:12 pm
lol at n.10 hahahaha so true, reminder has pretty much asked for the crucifixion of fellows christians before for things even in the past and while ass licking those who bring harm to lebanon going as far to defend the indefensible.
what a shameless (but funny) moron
15. Darwish | February 9th, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Maronites in the Middle East are predominantly in Lebanon AND Syria and the maronite Patriarch’s title is that of Antioch and the orient, in other words he is also the spiritual leader of those marouniyeh in Syria as well. He should make an effort to reach out to them and send a representative from Bkerki to participate in a mass in Syrian cities where Maronites worship…Aoun & co. are just filling the void that has been created by Bkerki’s absence, unfortunate but true.
16. Reminder | February 9th, 2010 at 6:30 pm
bkerki doesnt even care about maronites in the south, akkar, b2a3 gharbe and baalback shouf basically masi7iyeh el 2atraf bekrki doesnt give a shit about them.. badak yehon yehtamo bi syria?
17. Alyssa | February 9th, 2010 at 6:38 pm
Darwish there are about 2.2 million christians in Syria only about 40,000 of them are Maronites infact there are more Maronites in Brazil than Syria.
Aoun isnt going to Syria for religious purposes but to go kiss bashar’s ass and humilate the christian community further same for the rest of those goons who have followed. I dont think we should exclude those Maronites from Syria, i have nothing against the syrian people same for Iranian and Israeli but we have to focus on our own nation first, Lebanon has so many problems for the Lebanese. I actually believe we should be engaging more with Christians of the middle east from Iraq to Egypt to strengthen our communities.
Reminder if Bkerki doesnt care for Maronites in Lebanon in that case atleast thats something you and your beloved Aoun have in common with them.
18. Darwish | February 9th, 2010 at 6:39 pm
And so why Reminder #16, does the batrak care to fly to US, Canada and Australia to pay a visit and celebrate a mass with these maronite communities? Shouldn’t he pay attention to those in the region within his jurisdiction?
19. Reminder | February 9th, 2010 at 6:42 pm
he flies there for reasons not related to his maronite children in these countries
20. Maximus | February 9th, 2010 at 7:03 pm
Simply because Syria occupied Lebanon, killed and kidnapped Maronites during 30 years. And until today, Syria did not ask pardon for that…
Aoun going to Syria, praising Assad and giving heretic lecture of maronite history…zaman…
21. lila | February 9th, 2010 at 7:08 pm
22. paul | February 9th, 2010 at 7:54 pm
again…at christmas time geagea should go to jerusalem…
st. maroun is not more important than jesus
23. sniper | February 9th, 2010 at 8:02 pm
Today is a happy day fellow maronites, rejoice and shout it out loud “Happy mar maroun day”.
As to the sheep that went to Syria well we know who they are, NAKIRA. Michael Aoun, Lahoud, Franjieh, Jean Aziz, Emile Rahmeh, Gebran Bassil.
However, two of these people should be very ashamed. First is Sleiman Franjieh because he represent the maronites of Zgharta whom are largely bothered by his visit. Secondly, Emile Rahme, who carries the Rahme name BUT has absolutely no support from them and is the only Rahme that’s not LF. I think that’s the only reason why Syria has him on the map. Divide and Conquer strategy.
24. Maximus | February 9th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
Mni7a Paul. il al jouzour via Tel Aviv…
The syrian regime was always been looking for a way to justify his pretention to control Maronites of Lebanon. Aoun has ben working for them on that goal since the beginning of the 1980. During the first round, his mission was to destroy all their resistance capacity (military, economic and social). Then he took a break in France before the second round which is to transfer the Maronites under the syrian tutelage. After the political transfer (70% delirium), they are working on the transfer of the religious references. After discrediting the Patriarch, they are now inventing Brad in Syria as the first reference of the Maronites. All what they are doing is planified and filled in a demoniac plan. Do you think all those traitors suddenly decided to go to Brad by pious motivation?
Metl el 3ahrat, ba3atloun el tyara w sahaboun la 3endo…
25. Darwish | February 9th, 2010 at 10:32 pm
I have come to realize that the only enemy of the maronites are the lebanese maronites themselves! I respect the patriarch but what is happening among maronites is shameful and the patriarch bears SOME responsibility in all of this!
26. danny | February 9th, 2010 at 10:48 pm
Darwish,
The Patriach was the voice of Christians in Lebanon through the Syrian occupation. I’m certain you did not “bear” his eminance any responsibilty when he was the forefront of the fight against the opressors! Now just because the village idiot got bribed and bought and changed his stance; why do you expect the Patriach to change his principles.
Seroiusly, every time an idiot sells out you want the Batrak to change his principles to please them? For all I know the Cardinal has never maligned Aoun! On the contrary it was the murderer aoun and his derelict groupies who attacked and ransacked bkirki…or have you forgotten?
27. Darwish | February 10th, 2010 at 12:14 am
OK danny, but the patriarch’s stances have been divisive in many situations and have instead helped to deepen the rift between the christians. I understand the difficulty of dealing with Aoun’s positions for Bkirki, but there has got a way to try and bridge some of these differences as opposed to antagonize a large section of the maronite and by default the christian community…The patriarch’s positions should not openly favor one party over the other!
I do understand the difficulties and frustrations that this situation has created for him. That’s why I don’t see how this inter- christian reconciliation is ever going to take place under these circumstances.
28. danny | February 10th, 2010 at 1:50 am
Darwish,
I do understand what you are saying…however, here is my question to you. If Batrak’s stances were ok for 15 yrs whereas there was no Christian independent leadership; why are they divisive now? Just because aoun decided to polarize and create hatred among its community members? The Cardinal has more than once extended a had to aoun, however aoun is a lunatic and unfortunately his followers are dumber blinded by their hatred of LF and what happened 20 years ago!
People should learn how to move on…You are asserting that Aoun’s followers have forgiven the pounding of the Christian areas by Syrians and subsequently the total terror spread by the mukhabarat…and do not want to forget or forgive the incidences during the chaos of late 80’s?
Yalla, let’s stop using appologetic tones to supposedly find a solution with the village idiot! He was a murderer then and he is nothing but a traitor to Lebanon and a derelict to Maronites! Shame on all Maronites that allow losers like aoun to lead them…But after all you are right when you said Maronites have only themselves to blame.
My friend, I asserted many times and I do again: The old days are over. It’s time to wake up from the fantasy land and technicolor dreams! In 10 years the muslim population will be over 80% of residents of Lebanon…Time to make peace with that and move accordingly!

Syrian Army? how about al Al-Mourabitoun? or PSP?
If you are making fun of the thousands of matyrs who died so a cowardly scumbag like you who has no idea what your talking about could be here today than seriously go to hell!
god what an ass licker you are, do your shahada already and go make pilgrimage to Qom its quite clear you have destement for Christians and Christianity yet non stop boot lick Islamists and endorse on Lebanon becoming a Arab republic or another Iran.
Not even the average aounist what spout the shit you are saying infact many Aounists love Camille Chamoun and most of them hate the fucking the PLO.
The only ”Aounists” who share your POV are usually either the ones are from Marada,SSNP,LCP(other leftist garbage) b/g’s you dont fool me, your as ”maronite” as Habib Shartouni was.

Jaish Lebnen under Aoun bombarded civilians, christians and muslims, with heavy artillery; tortured his prisonners; executed those who refused to obey (4 soldiers executed in Roumie in september 1990).
I ma not talking of Aoun and his long list of crimes (from his attempt to assassinate Geagea, to his relations with syrians intelligence during the liberation war, to the fortune he accumulated by hijacking money he recieved from ordinary people and from Saddam Hussein and Arafat)…
You want to be honest with yourself by “hating” murderers? You can not but put Aoun and his militia on the top of the list. It will free you. By hating them all you will in fact no more hate anybody. You will be more usefull to Lebanon…

37. Reminder | February 10th, 2010 at 2:33 pm
Maxi boy..bombarding areas under the control of the enemy with the intent of disarming the enemy is not a crime despite having innocent civilians killed….. it has always happened in every war and wasn’t considered a crime when killin civilians is not the main intent.. executing civilians or unarmed combatants is a crime (which is what LF PSP PLO did several times), this according to the Geneva convention so shut up
he never tortured his prisoners, unless it is for information from a spy ect.. which is the norm in warfare..
also in the norm of warfare or the rules of engagement include that any soldier who disobeys the orders on the battlefield must be shot, if not on the battlefield (ya3ne mich bi noss el m3arake) must be court marshaled and imprisoned for disobedience…
trying to kill geagea is no more a crime than having tried to kill hussein or hitler or or stalin or any other criminal of war… he had no relations with the syrians prior to thier withdrawal…
danny, no there is nothing wrong with being gay, in fact two of my close friends are gay..if u weren’t homophobic u wouldnt have made this remark… as for the compliments and RESPECT exchanged between me and doc (ie ppl from 2 different parts, parties and religions of lebanon) should be set as an example to all other lebanese..had lebanese ppl behaved that way 50yrs ago we wouldnt be were we are now… dont talk the walk, walk the talk

When Lebanon was Paris of the middle east, Switzerland of the Orient, Jewel of the region and
not playground battlefield for palestinians, syrians, israelis and Iranian mollahs, we were not killing anyone.
War is no picnic and when its a war of survival
dont expect it to be a garden party either or think you have the judge when have never even been close to a situation like that or close to annihilation.
You are not even real FPM reminder you are full of s***
I remember the reaction of the FPM when Geagea apologized for the wrong actions of Christians during the war in a speach in 2007. hahahaha they went berserk and called him a PLO dhimmi appeaser. The only ppl who didnt complain were the FPMers of leftist backgrounds we are know what they are and who they are.
40. Alyssa | February 10th, 2010 at 2:54 pm
Reminder,
god you are brainwashed, how do you defend Aoun losing a war that led to syrians taking control of christian areas that had already been liberated just so he could be president?
How do you defend Aoun walking out on HIS OWN MEN after he promised he would not leave them or Lebanon? but turns out even prior the battle, he had put millions into a french bank account. He left his own wife and children at the mercy of the Syrians while he ran off to the French embassy in his Pajamas and didnt even tell his men he had surrended living them either to be captured or killed. Even now some of his men are still rotting in jails in Syria and Aoun is going there to ass kiss their jailors. Lets not even begin to pretend its not aoun who is keeping the christians divided and
fractured for his own egotistic power greed he is willing to gamble the future of chrisitans of Lebanon as a community. Fuck him and his FPM
41. Reminder | February 10th, 2010 at 3:16 pm
so you are saying that we in general should not apologize for the sabra shatila massacres? the karantina massacre? does it take a leftist to see that> or some1 with common sense?
i am not leftist nor do i like them.. i WAS right wing..in fact i was so right wing i absolutely loved the NSDAP, i still have a penchant for them but not as before.. it doesnt take a leftist and right wing or centrist to see that these massacres and that alike were wrong…
btw did u say : “the wrong actions ” ? if u and he admit that they were wrong, shouldnt we apologize? as for the FPMers who laughed at samir for doing so, THEY are of LF and Kataeb background, just like some of the ouwet bashir or koudama ouwet or ex kataeb who joined FPM in 2005 and most probably left now…. i despise leftists, in fact the leftists here in lebanon arent even the real leftists they are plain dumb idealistic “philosophers”… and as for right wing ppl like you..you are simply put, racist arrogant and far too nationalistic and hateful..
btw FYI FPM is centrist
42. Reminder | February 10th, 2010 at 3:22 pm
alyssa u have ltos of stuff mixed up..between reality and fiction and between idealism and pragmatism..aoun had every right to fight the syrians as they were INSIDE lebanon..the syrians now are out and u guys want to follow them to damascus and fight them there! pls explain
also if u r so pissed that he lost the war why not get pissed at the PSP who sided with the syrians and fought with them blatantly or the LF who foguht with the syrians secretly.. ma tense..
43. Alyssa | February 10th, 2010 at 3:27 pm
FPM is no longer centrist its a Pro-Syrian Left wing party now made out of fanatic aoun worshipers or Left winger offspring. Aoun should be glad the Leftists and SSNP,Marada produced children because that is the generation his supporters are now mostly made out of.
Has Berri and shiites apologized for the massacres of the camps in 1980s that killed more palestinians than S&S? i dont think so
When have the palestinians ever apologized for what they did here first? did they apologize for Damour? or helping to destroy our country?
or pushing LEbanese out of their homes?
When have the moslems ever apologized for siding with the Palestinians?
Tell every year they go on about shatila and sabra in the papers and tv and those leftists go march in the camp but tell me when has anyone ever bothered to remember the LEBANESE victims
of palestinian terrorism and their allies? no they dont give a shit.
So no geagea shouldnt have apologized when they have yet to return the gesture themselves
You are such a Leftist liar please why are you ashamed to admit it?
Your right most FPM who came from Kataeb background (which btw were most Aounists until MOU) have left your pathetic majnoun general worshiping club and have woken up. Only fools are left following the devil.

no u have many FPMers that were AOUNSIT in the 80s and 90s..aoun still has a solid majority btw..not thansk to the diminishing leftists…
i look down on PSP berri and PLO for what they did and for not apologizing..andi for one was glad aoun didnt give berri a MP in JEzzine and basically beat the crap out of them during the elections (can u guys do that to ur allies).. berri should be M14 based on his history, credibility and actions… i would very much like to exchange him with sami gemmayel (not his pompus arrogant dad or his ignorant childish retarded cousin nadim) we remember the LEBAENSE victims which is why we are not giving the palestinians any room to breathe and Aoun and FPM asked the army to attack naher el bared and to disarm the paelstinaisn outside the camps (and soon inside the camps).. but let me remind u that LF and Kataeb killed almost as many christians as the other parties… ma3leh… aoun still has solid majority of the crhsitians despite the decrease in voters and the elftists SSNP and marada form a small part of our christian majority
46. Alyssa | February 10th, 2010 at 3:38 pm
Who says I do not bash the PSP? I hate Jumblatt with a passion and always knew he was a lecherous snake.
I have to give it to him he does know how play the game put the Druze community in advantage.
Where as christians are stuck with Assholes like aoun trying to destroy our community for power and greed. There is not mixing reality ficition everything i have stated about Aoun is FACT.

Most (if not a huge chunk) of Aoun’s MPs are made out of Armenians,Marada,SSNP,LCP etc
Actually reminder, HA aoun’s ally and best buddy stated the Camps are a red line to attack.
There was talk of a bill rasied to improve the living the conditions to palestinians in the camps at the expense of Lebanese and guess who supported that?

It seems you are proving all outsiders right! Easpecially HA followers. Could you guys seriously hear yourself talk? back and forth on what and who did what to whom!!
Please tell me what you think about tomorrow! What future is awaiting this pour nation? What would happen to Lebanon when all hell breaks loose? What are your plans? reconciliation talk is just poppy cock! I remember back in 2006 at the Dialogue table where everyone kissing Nassrallah’s beard and the Seyyed promising a quiet summer! Is this what Lebanese are down to? Living from a summer season to next?
You people should discuss what could be done to shelter Lebanon from regional turmoil (alas it will never happen with HA and the pasdaran still armed to the teath) and better the ordinary citizen’s life.
Cheers

Tfoo 3a aoun n all his blinded followers!
Aoun wants to prove to Syria that he’s their “awfa kalb”! No wonder berri is p*ssed as he carried on for so many years that title!
No wonder a son of a very high ranked in Syria told me that aoun became their nbr 1 person in Lebanon!
