Who will stop the Syrians this time ?
Posted by N10452The funny & sad part about hearing our dear politicians WARN Syria of coming back to Lebanon is that everyone knows its empty talk .. wou to say more its complete bull shit !
Who will stop the Syrians this time ??? Hariri’s militia ? Sabe3’s bodyguards ?? Fatfat’s men ?
Seriously, do you expect the LF to resist them ? the LF is not armed and has no militia whatsoever ..
Who will stop them ? The Lebanese army or the chicken-loving ISF ?? LOOOL ..
Maybe another demonstration will scare them away ma hek ??
US, France, Russia, All Arab countries can do nothing about it …
More than three years since the Cedars Revolution and we somehow managed to throw this chance down the drain and give reasons for the Syrians to get back ..
This country is a joke and its people are one big joke !
PS: For aounist who will start barking and blaming M14, Aoun may still stand a chance of becoming president if Syrians are back, you should start thanking M14 & complimenting them.
Last but not least, if the Syrians were to enter Lebanon again, i am off politics for good.

First of all N,
the Lebanese Forces have 5000 men ready to engage combat at any cost, we may lose the war, but we have a militia at our disposal.
2- The blame falls on people like Joumblat the SCUM and Harriri the Pussy. The blame falls on M14, M14 made a lot of mistakes during the passed 3 years..
3-Personnaly i don’t think that Syria will enter Lebanon, her influence may be gaining momentum, but Syria will never enter Leb again.

N… don’t take this the wrong way khayye, but 7ayyartné, one day you love geagea the next you don’t, one day M14 3azimeen the next ma byeswo etc… it’s time for all of us to understand that all those politicians don’t give a shit about lebanon, ya 3amme anyone with half a brain can see that… holé jame3a bi 7ebbo el solta wou bass, ekhir hammoun lebnen wou sha3b lebnen. the last politician who really cared for lebanon died on september 14 1982… guess who…
This is about the politicians in general, let’s talk about the christians now:
the fight between aoun and geagea destroyed the christians back in 1990 and opened the door for full syrian invasion. now 18 years later those 2 idiots are making the exact same mistakes again…metel ka2enno 11 years in jail and in exile ma fedo la shi… kel wahad ba3do mrabbas bi 7e2do wou bi awhemo wou atma3o… ya 3ayb eshoum 3ak jame3a…zbele tfeh 3ala aoun wou geagea… if back in 1990 their conflict led the syrians in, i don’t even want to imagine what these idiots conflict will lead to this time…
one last word about the patriarch… on second thought… nnaaa no comment, i’ll let history judge this man and his innumerable mistakes.

N,
Why do not all of us fight it out!
Why’s all this despair? We’ll have annon, rambo, and Sam give us some pointers…
We will not need anyone’s help. Syria is like any playground bully! They won’t dare. I have a feeling that a few USA destroyers might make a visit to our shores!
Regardless, I’ll confront them. For God’s sakes, fuck them let’s not act like pussies…We will fight to the end!
I cannot believe i am saying this but I have had enough of this defeatist and scary cat attitude! Snap out of it PLEAZZZZZZZE

I say let Syria annex Lebanon so we can live in peace. Between a salafist emirate in Tripoli and Hezballah starting a war with the zionists, we clearly cannot govern ourselves. We dont deserve to be independent. If Syria annexed us there would be peace and quiet and they would force all the militias to behave. The inability to control our borders causes us to be a battlefield between Iran and Israel. Syria has peaceful borders with Israel, why cant we

17. Fou2ad | October 3rd, 2008 at 9:45 am
Well I’ve thought well about this, and I can’t see what’s so wrong about syria coming back to lebanon. I mean what’s so bad if the alawite and orthodox regime of syria comes in and strips the power from the sunnis, shiites, and druze, and gives it to the non fanatical christians that it loves so much more than the muslims? Why can’t we start living heaven like the christians in syria? Why do we have to fight the syrian army and make the syrian regime hate us? Why do have to join M14 to help keep sunni dominance here and then extend it to syria? You might say that the syrian regime is corrupt and that would be bad for the christians, but statistics actually show that at the present corruption in lebanon is higher than corruption in syria, so what the heck? You might say that you are pheonecian not arab, but DNA tests show that all syrians and lebanese are genetically identical, so more reason to unite with syria. And you might say that we will lose democracy if syrians come back, well what democracy are you talking about? Do you mean the one where one sect rules another? That’s not democracy.
P.S:If the syrians really do come back none will stand in their way, all the cedar revolution heroes will be syria’s allies again(including geagea). And aoun, well after everything he’s done from 2005 onwards, I believe he is capable of anything, even allying with a syrian occupation.

Can anyone stoop lower than that??????
19. Fou2ad | October 3rd, 2008 at 10:11 am
Rima, you are christian are you not? Don’t you want to stay in lebanon? Do you want to be forced by muslim oppression(all muslims) to go to some foreign country like australia that hates you and doesn’t reecognize as human being(ever heard of the cornulla riots)? Or do you want to live in your own land till you die?
You’ve been brainwashed by american propaganda about the “axis of evil”(which will only stay evil if it doesn’t find itself useful to american interests), when you don’t see the big picture, that the syrian regime is the best thing the could happen to the christians, if they dont’t fight them like before.
20. readers | October 3rd, 2008 at 11:10 am
N,
Si la Syrie est de retour, le premier qui sera supprime est le General Michel Aoun car il sera le seul a se battre pour vous ?
21. Silvana | October 3rd, 2008 at 11:14 am
Fou2ad,
Actually living in Australia, I have been respected, my rights recognized, and I am treated better than in Lebanon, I never encountered racism. Granted you have some racists, but to be fair we Lebanese can be racists too. The Cronulla riots are something most of the Australians are ashamed of, and as you seem to speak a lot about Muslim fanatics, you know what brought the Cronulla riots on. Some ignorant white trash ( they call them bogans) who needed an excuse to drink and protect their territory against the Middle-Eastern ( in their mind Muslim) thugs.
As for your “when you don’t see the big picture, that the syrian regime is the best thing the could happen to the christians, if they dont’t fight them like before.”, ARE YOUR FREAKING FOR REAL?…
22. Rodge | October 3rd, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Fou2ad,
Why don’t yu fo and live in Syria, and they will give you nationality also.
We already tried the syrians ruling our country, was it better??? peace?? which peace u’re talking about?? the peace who killed Ramzi Irani, Elie Hobeika, Sheikh Hassan Khalid, Rene Mouawad, Dany Chamoun and many others??
alos we can’t accept peace for oppression, we have our freedom which is more important than any peace.
I myself prefer to have war again, we’ve been living better under war, we were more safe in our societies.
One more thing ya Fou2ad, there is more corruption in Syria than in Lebanon now, and the last report about corruption proved it, just look at the rating of Syria.
Anyway, it isn’t starnge from someone like you who is more Syrian than Lebanese, if there is anything Lebanese in you.

Readers,
et tu as raison, ton General sera supprime par son peuple, par le peuple libanais, car il sera le premier responsable pour ce retour, il en a travaille toute sa vie politique pour ca.
24. roula | October 3rd, 2008 at 12:49 pm

N, one thing you said rings true “This country is a joke and its people are one big joke !” The problem is that everyone else is laughing as we are fight among each other over whose flag is where and whose poster is up and who “mesek el mantaa” The root of the problem is us not our leaders. If there is no grassroots change to reform the way we behave and look at each other, nothing will ever get better.

Very strange
It is very strange that all the attacks that occured in Lebanon and Syria and are related by some media tothe “jihadists” are the only attacks that occured inthe worl by the supposed “jihadists” and that are never revendicated by any recongnized jihadists organization. Check all the “official” media sites of Al-Qaeda: there are an “official” press release concerning every attack ondaily basis: in the maghreb, in the caucasus, in Afghanistan-pakistan, in irak, in palestine, in Yemen and the arab peninsula…and nothing on the attacks in north Lebanon and Damascus… How come?

syria is better out of lebanon then in…this is clear..
i believe that it is a message sent by assad to harriri and saudi.. that al alaweet are not alone.. the message was well received…
the clever leaders of M14 where threatening the syrian regime and making all the plans to remove it since three years.. did any one count how many times did khadam ( the ex governor of lebanon ) go on future tv in the last 2 years?
do you expect that syria will accept to have a pro saudi base against them in the north?some people should stop playing with their tales because time have changed since three years…

in the most recent entry in this blog you talk about how little informations westerners have about lebanon ,well you seem to have many misconceptions about your neighbor: Syria,
try for a moment to consider the syrian point of view and refrain from portrying us like the ultimate aggressors, think of the military ,economical ,political burden syria will suffer from its invasion of lebanon ,this is a decession that I am almost 100% sure will not be taken if we are not attacked directly from lebanon ,
Syria and Lebanon are in the process of establishing deplomatic relations , i ask you to be considerate and constructive so we can build a relationship based on mutual respect and shared interests ,both sides has a duty to respect each other , the deplomatic relations are as much a syrian demand as it is a lebanese one

I would like all of you to remember that 30 years ago like this week Hafez Assad was bombarding the whole christian region with heavy artillery (something never done to civilians before since WWII). That week was the culmination of “Harb al mi’at yaoum” (the 100-days war). Most of you were too young (or not even born) to remember that. A brave resistant, Pharmacist Michel Berty died fighting the Syrians in front of what is now the main entrance of ABC mall. Please give him and his comrades a moment of prayer and thought.

the idea of shooting in schools was not so clear in your previous posts…Still I don’t see what is the connection with the subject…
As for the Palestinians, this is an international and Arab problem and if Iran loves Lebanon and is so infatuated with the Palestinian cause why don’t they ship them from Lebanon to Iran??????
Terrorism is the real danger…what terrorists tried to achieve in Iraq or Afghanistan is to turn the American and Western public opinion against the Americans….That is the weakness of democracy…
Cheers

The Maronites were in lebanon before your ancestors get out from the desert to invade us. Don’t ever adopt this tone concerning our presence in Lebanon. This is a christian land that we accepted to share with you. Don’t ever think one second that we are here thanks to your generosity. And again, if things turned bad, i will repeat to what the Patriarch said: if one day we will have to choose between our freedom and living with muslims, we will chose our freedom.
The difference between us and you is that when we go to a christian country like australia, we live without any cultural frustration. This is not your case. Don’t compare us tou your cousins who are incapable to assimilate in australia or any other “charistan” country. Accept it: we have affinity with the wetern civilization since mors than 1000 years. It is not a question of political interest ou strategic bénéfit. A western government can try to sell us a beduin, that does not change ou culture and will not make us accept your “protection”.

Don’t twist thinks. Yes the patriarch said: “iza khoyerna bayna al 2aish al mushtarak wal huriya, sa nakhtaru al huriya”.. “iza khoyerna”… If we have to choose. When people like Fou2ad are making ur living in Lebanon as a result of the muslmim generosity, it means that we are losing our freedom, then, between living with muslmis and keeping our freedom, we will choose our freedom.
It is ignorant like you, if you are christian, that ruins christian reputation. And if your are not christian, ma dakhalak bi shou 2al el batrak…
