Who is to blame ??

14 March 2005 was a memorable day that i will never forget, it was that golden opportunity ( as Gebran Tueni once said) that we should not miss.

Yet we missed it big time, got back the politicians that ruined us in the past and here we are now, about to bring back the Syrians into Lebanon, and IRONICALLY through another Army General.

I always was straight forward when it came to politics, i had my LF thought and carried it with me, and critisized whomever drifted from that thinking, even if it was Samir Geagea .. Truth is the only thing that frees us, that keeps us on the good track ..

Do i regret the things i did ? Never.

But i blame myself, and a large group of Lebanese youth for not doing anything to stop this disaster .. We are sitting back and watching the Cedars Revolution representatives sell out the country to another Pro-Syrian president.

I wanted to go demonstrate by myself today, against voting for Suleiman, against postponing elections every week … but what for ??

To get arrested and humiliated ?? Kermel meen ??

I never did anything to satisfy other people, but for my own conviction, but one must be rational from time to time and think twice ..

I hear people still quoting Geagea here and Aoun there, and actually being serious about it, i do get involved in those arguments but not to defend Geagea or Aoun or anyone but rather try to convince the Aounist ( or Lfer or whatever) attacking me that he is defending the wrong person but most of the time in vain .. they are too stubborn to understand the solution lies within their hands …

You ask me why dont i do anything about it ? I tell you if i had the money i would, because this is what politics is all about here, you need to have money, contacts & muscles ..

What makes the difference is whether you are an honest credible person or not … and those are becoming extinct.

The situation is sickening and i wonder sometimes if i were outside Lebanon, how tempting it would be to just erase everything related to Lebanon .. because i am ashamed of the fact that i cant cause any change .. because i am ashamed to even tell people what Lebanon has become .. and most importantly how its Christians never learned and will never learn ..

    The only bad thing about electing Suleiman is that the constitution should be altered.
    The man can’t be blamed for being a Syrian agent. He just finished to subdue the Fatah Al Islam, which some blame was armed and controlled by Syria. So in fact ho fought Syrian agents. He has good relations with Syria? why not? it’s a Lebanese interest.
    At these times, it is better to have someone who knows and understands war, and doing his best to avoid it.

    Sometimes your comment are very childish and UNREALISTIC. Do you want a civil war just to elect Mr Nassib Lahoud or Boutros Harb …

    My answer is no to civil war no to fanatism …the LF are changing and they are changing..thanks God .. Sadly We as Christian can’t rule the country because of the geopolitical changes in Lebanon we are not in the 70′ nor in the 80′ were the LF & Kataeb were the majority we have been weaken first by ourselves (all the theft and abuse did by the LF&Kataeb on there own people) and the madness of Mr. Aoun .. i mean we only have 5 deputy in the parliament we can’t impose a President let’s wait and work for the future elections to be able to nominate next time a PRESIDENT bi kel me3na el kelme

    - الجنرال يطرح شعارات وبرامج مستحيلة التطبيق ويرفض الرجوع عنها
    - الجنرال يسهم في عرقلة إنتخاب رئيس الجمهورية
    - الجنرال يطرح نفسه البديل الوحيد ولا يقبل بأي إسم آخر
    - الجنرال يهدد بالشارع وبمحاكمة كل من يخالف مشروعه

    - خلو سدة الرئاسة وعدم إجراء إنتخابات للخلف
    - الجنرال يخدم مشروع سوريا وحلفائها في لبنان
    - سوريا تصبح أكثر قوة وفعالية وتأثيرأ على الحياة السياسية اللبنانية
    - إضعاف موقع المسيحيين في مرحلة مهمة ودقيقة من تثبيت الأحجام
    - إرغام المسيحيين على القبول بتنازلات دونية للخروج من الوضع الراهن
    - إرغام المسيحيين على القبول برئيس دون المواصفات المطلوبة
    - إخراج المسيحيين من الحضور الفاعل في الحياة السياسية
    - إحباط المسيحيين وإقصائهم يؤدي الى هجرة كبيرة وخلل ديمغرافي يصعب تصحيحه

    هل هذا الوصف هو لعام 1989 أم لعام 2007؟؟؟؟؟؟
    ما أشبه الأمس باليوم
    وما أشبه جنرال الأمس بجنرال اليوم
    فالجنرال هو هو أمس اليوم وإلى الأبد
    يبقى التمني أن يعي اللبنانييون عموماً والمسيحيون خصوصاً مدى الضرر الذي تسببه يومها ويتسببه اليوم الجنرال بالمجتمع المسيحي في لبنان وبالتوازنات اللبنانية وهو الذي يدعي المحافظة على حقوق المسيحيين.
    ويبقى الأمل ألا تكون خاتمة هذا الوضع في 2007 مأساوية كما كانت في 1989 وألا تؤدي الى خسارة جديدة لصلاحيات المسيحيين وقدرتهم على المشاركة في السلطة لأن الخسارة هذه المرة ستكون قاسية… لا بل قاضية…

    I don’t understand how sheikh Amin would allow that his son’s remains to be stirred up by another syrian president. What did Pierre die for? What did Gebran die for? So that the lahoud presidency can go on through sukeiman? I am sick to the core and disgusted at myself that I dreamt of a free Lebanon.
    Please erase a free lebanon from your dreams. this was the chance of a lifetime and it’s gone forever.

    When you gt out of lebanon and see other countries especially arab countries, you would cry over lebanon, they have evolved on our back and still are …. a bunch of badou people now have the most modern states. if only the money and investement was made in lebanon instead of those arab countries we would have a paradise on earth. but they dont want that to happen !!!

    this is a very nice question….
    the first one who has to be blamed is the orange clown michel aoun…because of him we are in this shit situation: to become a president and to “flirt” 7assouna he sacrificed the whole country…
    then, we have to blame 14 march for not electing a president with half+1 directly after lahoud left baabda palace, and they waited for anapolis meeting’s result…(this is the result: michel slaymen )
    as a conclusion, in general the christian politicians fucked themselves and especially their community…

    البطريركية المارونية: المسؤولية كبيرة على من أقفل المجلس أيا تكن الذرائع وعلى الوزراء المستنكفين

    أعلنت أمانة سرّ البطريركية المارونية أنه لما كانت هناك أقوال متضاربة حول موقف البطريركية المارونية من الأوضاع الراهنة، من شأنها أن تنشر الابهام والشكوك في عقول الناس، ولما كان الواجب يقضي بتبديد هذه الشكوك، كان لا بد من الايضاح، فأصدرت بياناً قالت فيه:

    “كنّا آلينا على نفسنا ألا ننزلق إلى تسمية أي لبناني يصلح أن يكون رئيساً للجمهورية اللبنانية، بعد أن علمتنا التجربة التي وقعنا فيها في الخامس والعشرين من تشرين الثاني 1988، بناء على طلب مسؤولين أميركيين، فسلّمنا هؤلاء خمسة أسماء اختارها النواب الموارنة من خلال اقتراع سري، جرى في بكركي، وما إن وصلت هذه الأسماء، بعد ان دارت دورتها على بعض دول المنطقة، إلى المسؤولين اللبنانيين حتى كانت موضع أخذ وردّ، دونما طائل، لكيلا نقول سوى ذبك، وتركت هذه التجربة في نفسنا أثرا مراً”.

    وأضاف البيان: “جاء لبنان مسؤولون فرنسيون وزاروا بكركي في التاسع من تشرين الثاني الحالي، وطلبوا الينا بعد ان زاروا بعض المسؤولين اللبنانيين، أن نعطي أسماء تصلح لرئاسة الجمهورية، ففعلنا على كره منا، وكانت ذكرى ما حدث سنة 1988 لا تزال محفورة في ذاكرتنا. وبعد فالقاعدة الدستورية تقول بأن يذهب النواب إلى المجلس النيابي ويستعرضوا الأسماء المطروحة، وينتخبوا أحدهم لمنصب الرئاسة. ونبقى نحن أو سوانا، في منأى عن إعطاء أي أسماء. ولكننا بعد ان قالوا لنا: “ما الأفضل أن تعطي لائحة أم ان تترك البلد يذهب إلى الفوضى”؟ وأن هناك تعهداً بأن يؤخذ اسم من هذه اللائحة. وبعد أن كان احد المسؤولين يردد أنه وراء البطريرك في ما خص ذكر الأسماء، وآخر يقول أنه ينتظر لائحة الأسماء، وكنا نخشى أن ينسب الينا تدهور الأوضاع، اذا تدهورت. سلمنا لائحة، وشاعت الأسماء، ومعظم من لم يُذكر اسمهم فيها من المرشحين، صبّوا علينا جام غضبهم. وقلنا سامحهم الله، وهو يعرفون أن لا سبيل إلى ذكر أسماء كل المرشحين، وهم كثر بحمد الله، وفيهم من يقدّر المسؤولية ومن لا يقدّرها. وانتظرنا ريثما يصار إلى انتقاء أحد هذه الأسماء لينتخب رئيسا للجمهورية، واذا هناك من يقول لنا: “أعطنا لائحة ثانية، أو أضف عليها اسما جديدا، فقلنا: “هذا كل ما كان باستطاعتنا أن نفعل، وبعد فأنتم أحرار بإضافة أو إسقاط من تريدون من الأسماء، ولا تزال اللائحة تائهة لا يستقر لها قرار”.

    وتابع: “إن الوضع القائم خطير، ولا ندري ما اذا كان هناك من يقدّر خطورته من المسؤولين، الذين يمتنع بعضهم عن دخول المجلس النيابي، ويكتفي بالتوقف في الممرات، يوم يدعى جميع النواب إلى جلسة انتخاب رئيس. وإقفال مجلس النواب طوال هذه الفترة الفائتة يرتب مسؤولية كبيرة على من أقفله، أيا تكن الذرائع. وهو المكان الذي تعوّد النواب في كل بلدان العالم أن يجتمعوا فيه ليناقشوا الشؤون الوطنية، ويتخذوا بشأنها القرارات الواجبة. ولا تقل مسؤولية الوزراء المستنكفين عن حضور جلسات مجلس الوزراء عن سواهم، وهم في وقت ما يستنكفون، ولا يزالون في مجملهم يذهبون إلى مقر وزاراتهم، ويصرفون الأعمال التي يريدون، وهكذا يأتون عملا وعكسه باستنكافهم ومقاطعتهم في وقت معا. وهذا أمر مستهجن ومستنكر”.

    وأضاف البيان: “إن الشعب اللبناني كفر بهذه الأعمال المجافية للمنطق والقانون، وهو ينتظر من المسؤولين الذين اوصلهم إلى ما يتبوأون من مراكز عالية، أن يهتموا بما يهتم له من شؤون معيشية يومية، فيوفرون له عملا يمكّنه من القيام بمسؤولياته العائلية، والعيش بطمأنينة وكرامة. ولا نريد ان نحمل المسؤولين فوق ما يطيقون تحمله،وبعضهم مهددون في حياتهم، وحذرون كل الحذر في تنقلاتهم، ومكالماتهم الهاتفية، ولا يقدمون عليها إلا بعد اتخاذ الكثير من الاحتياطات التي لا بدّ منها، وهذا ما لم يشهده أي بلد آخر ما عدا لبنان”.

    وتابع بيان البطريركية: “ان ارتهان بعض اللبنانيين الى هذه او تلك من البلدان او القوى السياسية الخارجية جعلهم أسرى مواقفهم، وشل ما لهم من قدرات، وجعلهم، أدروا أم لم يدروا، مرتبطين بسواهم في ما يتخذون من مواقف، ويعلنون عنه من قرارات. ورحم الله من قال: “لا تنظر الى ما بامكان وطنك ان يعطيك، بل الى ما بوسعك ان تعطي وطنك”. ولا يمكن احدا ان يطلب من وطنه الأمن والاستقرار السلام، ما لم يعط وطنه ما يطلبه منه من اخلاص تام، وخدمة نصوح، وتضحيات قد تذهب الى حد التضحية بالذات، والمطلوب الآن الاسراع في انتخاب رئيس للجمهورية قبل فوات الأوان. وهذا أمر يقع على مسؤولية جميع النواب، ويعلم الله اننا ما اتخذنا يوما جانب أحد دون أحد. انما توخينا ونتوخى دائما مصلحة الوطن بكامله”.
