UNIFIL : A long term solution

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, or UNIFIL, was created by the United Nations, with the adoption of Security Council Resolution 425 and 426 on March 19, 1978, to confirm Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon, restore international peace and security, and help the Government of Lebanon restore its effective authority in the area.

Those forces are here to protect us from Israel and to protect Israel from any attacks from our side and are in my opinion the best military solution Lebanon could have asked for to resolve the Israeli-Lebanese conflict.

If you simply look at the incident between the Germany Navy and Israeli fighters a week ago, we notice how it was resolved diplomatically and no casualties or injuries were reported.
Israelis have to deal with Germans, French and more than five other countries and cannot afford to start wars and put those soldiers at risk for political and diplomatical reasons.

This is how we stop Israelies, and not through a terrorist militia hiding underground and using civilian buildings as shields. Diplomacy is the key and the UN is the place to refer to.

As Timur Goksel, former spokesman of the UNIFIL quotes:
” UNIFIL came here in 1978. We were, because at that time there was no Hezbollah here, accused of being sympathetic to Palestinians. A peacekeeping force does not come here with pre-set enemies. There is no enemy [inaudible] in a peacekeeping force. UNIFIL is a peacekeeping force. It’s not a Israeli combat force or an anti-terror force, as they would like it to be. As long as we don’t serve their direct interests, they are going to denigrate it as much as they can.”

    i am not saying that il wade3 bitamin but for us as critians we are fine despite the majnoun people who they ll switch really soon la2ano he has all the cowards and all the people that was withmichel il morr wich are the people that are on the winner side all the time . any way i have to go now.

    I don’t think there is any profit of war between these two countries. This internal war between two countries creates problem for the people, they can not leave with peace. Why the politician are not interested to solve this problem. I want to suggest to the all the politicians that please try to understand there is nothing in war. You both countries can merge and make a new country.

    A new country where nobody will try to kill anyone and every one can leave with his will. I know you all politician will not like my view but this can happened. When these two countries merge then New ellection will be held in a new made country and by this you can soulve this problem.
