For as long as it has existed, with very few exceptions, The Maronite Church has always stood for what is right and good for Lebanon and specifically its Christians. A Lebanon without its free christians will no longer be Lebanon but another arab country.

Yesterday’s statement by Patriarch Sfeir came as a warning to Christians first, and to all the Lebanese in general. We cannot have a “resistance army that would one day use its weapons against the enemy and another day domestically.”

Not surprisingly, this statement came after visiting President Michel Suleiman in Baabda.

Why from Baabda ? for four main reasons:
1- To remind Pr.Suleiman that he holds a responsibility towards Christians and all the Lebanese with regards to Hezbollah and its arms.
2- To emphasize that The presidential seat will remain for the Maronites (and bashing Jumblatt’s proposal of rotating the presidential seat among sects).
3- To clarify to Aoun and Hariri, and from the presidential palace, that his stances did not change and he will not bless the upcoming government.
4- To send a warning to all Christians and Muslims on the danger Hezbollah presents on their freedom and Lebanon’s freedom.

Bkerke always speaks what’s right and always warns ahead of time, yet only few listen.

Lebanon was invaded by Syria, Bkerke was the first to ask for their withdrawal.
Christian leaders were being persecuted, Bkerke was the first to ask for justice. (etc …)

After the ‘06 war and Beirut’s invasion, Bkerke is warning us all of what’s next to come if Hezbollah stays armed.

    ” Bkerke always speaks what’s right ” i I didnt know you see the batrak as ” al ma3soum ” ;)

the statement you wrote above didnt come in the baabda in the first place; but from visitors who saw him earlier … in the palace he was answering questions..

i recall u saying:”To emphasize that The presidential seat will remain for the Maronites”

while the batrak says: ونحن مع إلغاء الطائفية السياسية، ولكن يجب الإعداد لذلك
    meen 3am bifaness ? :)

Sfeir is just repeating what he has been saying since day one and what everyon else is thinking but not willing to say anymore.

  • 14. Doc1559 | December 9th, 2009 at 7:34 pm

More desperate attacks from Bkerki as agenda losses credibility.. they lost it all , read politics.

Batrak sfeir is misleading accusations rather than addressing the real challenge..

Desperate attacks can only be performed when your party or political/rel.igious stand is in deep trouble.

Bkerki’s method are not helping the situation, and the batrak is responsible.

Lastly, sfeir alone cannot build a country, he needs the help of others, when will he understand that ?? Anyway, talk is cheap.. let him talk !!

  • 15. danny | December 9th, 2009 at 9:50 pm

I love your ” “lesser of two evils” propaganda technique of bkerki, M8 and KSA are both evils, but we should stand by KSA and allies cuz they are less evil !! I still remember how sfeir clearly went on tv and supported the KSA agenda a few hours b4 the voting took place , this low and filthy technique is often accompanied by adding blame on the political opponent (GMA AND HA at the time) for everthing that was going wrong in Lebanon ect.. 2 moth ago, sfeir asked for one color gov, he lost his bet ;) ! Currently speaking, bkerki is being forced by some supreme power out there , maybe the vatican to sit down and discuss issues with the greatest Lebanese Maronite (GMA), chu didn’t you see how disgusted and irritated sfeir was during the meeting while GMA was looking happy and powerful !! Yalla more foreign pressure on bkerki will take place as aoun continues to be politically correct and wise on many levels.

The Batrak has three roles in Lebanon:
1.)Being the religious figure that he is for the Maronites.
2.)Trying to protect the”Christian community” in Lebanon.
3.)Listening to the the vatican and abiding by their plan.

It doesn’t always work out. Like what happend in the civil war.

He doesn’t want to align with Hezbollah because he knows the Israelies will destroy the country. With almost everyone supporting the will to protect our country; he is trying to show the West that the Christians are still loyal to the vatican and NWO plan in an effort to spare us. Politics through religion. Nothing more.

Your howling aside…Do you hate yourself so much? I guess for you a “good politician” is one one bends over and kisses bashar’s derriere…Well Cardinal Sfeir is the voice and consience of all Christians in Lebanon and their voice! Please enlighten us what makes a good politician…in the meantime keep cleaning the public washrooms in dearorne; it seems the stink reminds you of Dahiye and encompasses your useless existence …

  • 24. Infidel | December 10th, 2009 at 1:15 pm

when sfeir dies, who will take his place? what kind of politicians will he have? (i say he, because in the maronite church, women cannot become patriarchs, unlike our glorious anglican church :P )
